Most Years Worked

Featured Replies

I would just like to know, for those of us who work at PKI, who has worked there the longest?

not i says me. i started off in 2001, so i KNOW there are people that are on this site that are longer than me.

Going on my fourth year in the rides department! I've had the best time of my life working at KI and I've made so many friends. Including several who post on this board. Sure it's hard work but with all the friends I've made and all the fun I've had, I don't even call it work. :D

same here... this is goin to be my sec year. i had so much fun, i can't believe we get paid for this

i really dont consider it work either, the only way i would is the amount of sleep we miss! but thats ok. your first year when you start out it sucks because you in a whole new enviornment with all these new people, but you stick it out and then get to know the people, and get used to the rides, you be working with good friends and doing an easy job. then when you return each year, you make more friends with new people and still have your old friends. yea its pretty sweet :D

So, flyer06--- can you tell us any cool things about operating The Beast? The Beast is my favorite ride! -adam12

Yeah, working there is really fun, but like someone above said (sorry forgot who) it does make you lose a lot of sleep... Stayin there til 1 or 1:30 sometimes getting home 1:45 or 2:00 and leaving the next mourning at 8:30...sucks.

I think I might win this - 8 seasons!

2 years (94, 95) in Merch (I.S. Candy - when they made the good fudge, then Animation Station) and 6 years (96, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02) in Entertainment (Usher/Usher Sup.)

But, I'm finally done - unless I can get a full-time job in the offices.

Hmm. there isn't anything to interesting about operating The Beast.... but I can't wait to be at Dilerium it will be a nice change, since Ive been in rivertown and on a coaster for 2 years..

Going on two years of service.

Flyer, I will agree with ya, switching from coaster to flat is nice, especially if you went to TRTR last year (at least thats how I thought). After working two coasters awhile, it gets kinda boring, but then you look at who is riding the coasters, talk, have a good laugh, and its fun again.

lets see, im going from a water ride/gyro drop to a water ride/inverted coaster to a gyrodrop/skycoaster! CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE!!!!!! :D

SOB_TOM.. that is soooo true :-).. it will be nice to change but i will miss beast and my wonderfull crew

As will I, but sometimes you have to move onto bigger and better things. Anyway, you should see some of them next year. Unless you did what I did and my girlfriend is still on SOB/Gun so I wont be getting sent over there!

I know some Ride Associates that have worked in Rides for about 10 years, including one who worked Skylab, and Flight Commander.

There are quite a few food people that have been there since day 1. However the person I wish was still there from Day 1 was the head bartender in the international resturuant once it opened and for the whole time it remained opened. He left the park 2 years ago though.

Some other people that have been in the park a long time.... well one of the landscaping guys (a little bigger guy with black hair and mustache) has been in the park a long time. Don't know if he was there from day one but he was one of the wild animal habitat care workers back in the day when it still existed.

yea i can understand a few years of service, like 10 or maybe a little bit more, but 30!?!?!?!?! thats just insane! oh well guess that just shows you how much people like that job!

Well when that job turns into a career and you are the person running things, there is nothing wrong with that.

The one I am thinking of does have a carreer, but it is NOT at Kings Island. She is a teacher. She only works the job there during the summer mostly.

I definitely have the record 3 months! I am not returning next year, I liked the enviroment, but the hours are just not accomicating to my life and I have a 3 dollar an hour more than I would get paid job waiting for me when I turn 16. I'd say that I enjoyed my time at Potato Works though. Great fries.

i know who ur talking about. yea isnt she like a principal?? thats a pretty good plan, work at a school in the off season and then work at ki during summer. id do it, its gotta be good money!

Actually, last time I checked MM was working as a MUSIC teacher...I could be wrong. Tom (used to work on SOB, moved to HR) was a principle!

The person your talking about is a Band teacher, she also led the "Kings Island Showgirls" in the gong show in 2002 which was funny.
