  1. I forgot to mention this in my original post, but I have seen wrong merchandise at the carts before. Near the beginning of Full Season, at the Merch. Cart near SOB, they had snakes (like the ones they have now) except they said Paramount's Carowinds at the bottom instead of the obvious, PKI. So maybe merch just gets a little mixed up from time to time.
  2. They could have a CBS show that comes to PKI, i.e. King of Queens, or somemthing like that. Since we're all one big happy family.
  3. Dragonlord need not be attacked. We all signed the paper, and we all got the handbook. That should be all the convincing you need. The nametag thing isn't huge, although an associate should know he forgot his nametag before he arrives at his work location, and stop at wardrobe on his way into the park. Common sense is not a requirement to work at PKI, however. And we are all forgetful. However, tucking in your shirt requires less than a minute to do, and it makes you look that much more professional and polished. Honestly, and I mean nothing bad by this, but rides seems to be the worst department at this. I've seen an associate in rides litter in my area's service area, while he had his hat on sideways, nametag on his hat, and shirt thrown over his shoulder. It was ridiculous. Food associates aren't perfect, mind you, but I try to make sure my associates have their shirts tucked in. I don't see why it has to be such a big deal, keeping your shirt tucked in and your phone/walkman in your pocket until you get "backstage." Not that hard. Neither is a nametag, though. Nobody expects you to follow your associates on break, but you could mention it to them if you do happen to see them. Rides people tend to go on break in packs, I've noticed. But yeah. What do I know. I just set myself up to get ripped.
  4. Many of our employees are extremely nice to guests, however, as with anything, there are plenty of exceptions. I personally have witnessed associates being downright rude to customers, and it appalls me. Working at PKI is a privilege, not a right, and it would be nice if more of us treated it as such.
  5. That's not true. I've seen a couple. There are more of the other two, that's true, but there are some Delirium billboards. There's a SDATHC billboard right across from SFKK though. Pretty funny.
  6. It says in the handbook that they must be in wardrobe anytime they are in the park with any part of the uniform on, therefore it has to be someone's job to enforce that. Otherwise, what's the point.
  7. No, it was free swinging, I've seen them trying to align it more times than you can fathom, so don't try to tell me what I saw. It was free swinging, meaning the motor was making no noise, and it was just coasting back and forth for a long time, like a pendulum. It happened a couple times on two consecutive days. I first saw it swinging from about 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, and it gradually swung less and less as it killed momentum. It took quite a long time for it to stop. Also, in saying it would suck, there were a number of things I was implying. First, the restraints would get uncomfortable after awhile, especially for those of us that are larger than average. Second, some people do have problems with being stuck on a ride, i.e. sea-sickness or anxiety attacks. Third, it's a waste of time to sit and free swing for a long time, especially when all you're seeing is the same thing over and over again because it stops spinning.
  8. Chang wasn't great. I love the layout, and it's smooth, but the restraints kill. And all that hype that CCI gets about it's coasters is not found on the Twisted Twins. Apparantly they haven't heard of banking the turns. Horrible coaster. T2 was a good ride, a little rough, but the best Vekoma I've ridden, even though it ate my glasses. It was an alright park, but I can see a million ways it could be better. I find PKI to be much more polished and professional, as well as an all around better park with better rides.
  9. It probably just free swings until it stops. That's how it was with Delirium, it free swung for a good 15 minutes, and wasn't rotating the seats. Just swinging. I would have hated to be a person on there.
  10. I noticed this the other day, but I find it odd, perhaps fuel to screamscape's waterpark rumor. The towels that the Merch carts at the Front Gate (there's one on either side of the fountain) sell say "Splash Works" instead of "Water Works." The font is the same, but the word is different. I was thinking that maybe they sent us the wrong towels, as maybe that is the name of a different PP waterpark. So I checked: PGA doesn't have a waterpark, per their park map. PCoW has a waterpark, called "Water Works" PKD has a waterpark, called "Water Works" PCW has a waterpark, called "Splash Works" There you go. Either they sent the Merch. department the wrong towels, or it's a hint. Or both. I just found it to be funny.
  11. The Racers are major coasters. Much better than any woodie at SFKK.
  12. That's a while after it opened, at least a month, for a couple reasons: 1) The front and rear cars of the trains have the yellow paint on them; at the very beginning, the trains were all red. 2) The cranes (one by lifthill, one in rosebowl) were left up for a while after the ride opened, and in the picture, they are gone.
  13. I've seen Delirium do the same thing. Huss must have some problem with the motors on their Giant rides.
  14. What I was trying to say was that people were hoping for an announcement on the 30th because that was when the new maps came out, and so the announcement would happen and the new maps would be out, not that a new ride would be revealed by a new map. But maybe if you fold it a certain way, it'll be secretly coded to tell you about the new ride.
  15. There are some associates that make us all look bad, and I'm sure you all have seen one of two of those who I am talking about. People don't pay 35 dollars to get in, and ridiculous prices for food to feel like they're inconvienencing you when they go to get their food or when they go to get on the ride. It embarrasses me when I see associates treating guests bad and not being polite, because I know then that the guest will have had a bad experience and as such take that into account when they are considering buying other things, or when they consider whether or not to come back. I do know, though, that 85% of our associates are friendlier than 85% of Kentucky Kingdom's associates. I would wear a paper bag over my head if I worked there.
  16. You forgot the beer carts in Coney Mall and Rivertown, and also if you come back a short while later, there will most likely be a different pourer or they will plum forget you. Of course, if you're flat out sloshed, the person pouring should be trained not to sell to you, and to call security. My verdict is that you could have as many beers as your lowest limiting factor (stomach, liver, wallet) allows, not as many as PKI determines you can have.
  17. The park can't have 80,000 people... I think they stop letting people in somewhere around 60,000, and I'm pretty sure we haven't hit that this year. The highest I remember this year was just over 50.
  18. I know why it changed, and how frequently it changes, I was just pointing out that the next change had exactly nothing to do with a ride announcement, which is something that had been speculated in another topic.
  19. I found out about it earlier in the weekend because my Supervisor's Mom knew the lady who died. It's sad... my thoughts are with her family.
  20. Anyone hoping to see an announcement of a new ride on July 30th because of the map change is sadly mistaken. The maps for July 30- August 24 have been put out already, for whatever reason. I wouldn't get your hopes up for August 25th either, because the 24th is the last day of Fearfest auditions, and since that is advertised in the brochure, it makes sense that they would change maps after it is done.
  21. Ummm.... It clearly says Vanilla Coke... Even though vanilla is spelled wrong. He's talking about the mix that they put in the regular Coke at stands with a fountain.
  22. 37,000 That's not what I heard. You heard wrong then. I was told wrong. okay cool. the quote box thing looks cool with our one line replies. Yes, I agree Look deeper into the quote box......deeper..... haha Welcome to the Twilight Zone
  23. Just FYI, Almost every Cart in the park (Dippin Dots, Pretzel, Nacho...) has bottled Vanilla Coke. I can only think of one off hand that doesn't. Personally, I find the bottles to be better value because you don't have the ice to clutter up your 20 ounces.
  24. SOME of us teenagers could do more then that if we were trained at it. Notice the emphasis. I know that there are some of us that definately couldn't.
