Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
This conversation is really interesting, and it looks to be similar to the Decoding 2014 discussion. However, I would not have expected FUN to give a coaster to Kings Island so soon after Banshee. It is understandable why Cedar Point would get Valravn so soon after Gatekeeper, as it is their "flagship" park. I mean, why hasn't Kings Dominion gotten any coaster yet? They probably aren't getting one for 2017, which would be 7 years since Intimidator 305. I definitely wouldn't want to lose the Mid-Atlantic to Busch Gardens.

Kentucky Kingdom
On a side note, T3 seemed to be very rough, especially compared to other inverted coasters. However, I have heard from many that other Vekoma SLCs are even more rattling. Is this true?

There are people who strongly agree with you, others, strongly against the RMC Iron Horse to iconic classic wooden coasters at Cedar Fair park locations. (but then again, you have to be "ThatGuy" .) "If it works, keep it!" I definitely do not want The Beast or The Racer to receive the Iron Horse Treatment, as those rides are so iconic that they should be preserved in their original state. Hurler, on the other hand..

Kentucky Kingdom
Kentucky Kingdom recently privately opened for robotics teams attending the Vex Robotics World Championships. My school was lucky enough to have a robotics team that attended. (I am on the team) I was able to ride Storm Chaser twice and I have to say, the initial twisted drop and overbank turns are stunning! I wish Cedar Fair would give some older coasters the RMC Iron Horse treatment.

2015 Golden Ticket Winners
Rides like Surf Dog are considered coasters? To parks such as KI and Cedar Point, yes. However, most enthusiasts do not consider rides similar to Surf Dog coasters. I don't really care.

2015 Golden Ticket Winners
Is Planet Snoopy really that good? I only remember going there a few times when I was a kid living in Northern Kentucky. However, it was under Paramount back then.

So what did you ride the most times this year?
Carolina Goldrusher with a grand total of 5 rides... I don't go to these places as much as everyone else.

Surreal Carowinds 11/1
I just love that helix on Intimidator.... I seriously think I would marathon Afterburn for the whole day.

WHAT IS NEW FOR 2015!
A petting zoo? Seriously? That doesn't seem like a very good decision. It is how some diseases are spread, after all.

Kings Island: Saturday, October 25
Wow, I have finally got around to doing this trip report. If you have read my other trip report, you know that I go down the list of rides, I rode and rate them. I am going to do the same thing here. After about a 30 minute drive up from Newport, Kentucky (where my grandparents live), we arrived at Kings Island. My dad wanted to go to The Beast immediately, it has been and always will be his favorite coaster, after all. It was down to a one train wait, which I love. Anyway, you guys know how The Beast is: long, rough and fun. It was EASILY the best wooden coaster I have ever ridden. 8.5/10. Once that wild ride was over, we went over to Diamondback, the tallest coaster in the park. Diamondback is definitely better than Intimidator (Sorry Mer!), it just has a better, twistier layout. I also like the splashdown, that is pretty sick if you ask me. 8.25/10 Next up was good ol' Vortex. Oh, and by the way, I just want to quickly thank Homestar92 for spreading the awesomeness of 7-1. I love you for that. Nothing beats that airtime, not even all of DB's airtime combined. This ride is definitely better than Carolina Cyclone. I give it an 8/10 By this time it was past 12 o'clock so we decided to go to LaRosa's for a pizza. I really don't know why you guys don't like it at the park, it tasted fine to me... My brother, dad, and grandfather wanted to go ride Firehawk but there was NO WAY I was waiting in that line, I wanted to ride The Racer. Convincing my mom to ride with me though, that was hard. On the ride, she decided it would be a good idea to scream into my ear. I also rode this ride at night with my dad, that was more fun. To be honest though, I think Thunder Road at Carowinds is better, it has more airtime. 7/10 Mom also wanted to ride the Dodgem's which was more her speed. They are just your average bumper cars, nothing all that special. 6/10 After meeting back up, we all wanted to go ride Banshee, which turned out being out longest wait of the day at 45 minutes. It was definitely worth it though. I love you Afterburn, but Banshee's length, inline-twist, and theming give it a slight edge. 8.75/10 I don't really remember what happened after this, or why we sat around for so long when we could have been riding rides. My brother and I rode The Bat though. Riding in the back was a mistake though, making it not so much of a "non-stop fright." Should have rode in the front. 7.5/10 The best mine train out there was next. Adventure Express. And must I say, this thing is jerky! It was still fun though. Way better than Carolina Goldrusher. 7.5/10 Hank's Burrito Shack is awesome! Oh, and thank you lady behind us who let us use her gold pass to save some money. After this we really just walked around for a bit and then left. I hope I can come back to KI next year!

KI visit 10/25
I went yesterday as well. In the morning, everything was a <30 minute wait. However, once 5:00 rolled around, everything got REALLY crowded. That's why we left at 8:30

Just got off Racer. It was about a 30 minute wait. Going to Adventure Express now. Anybody else here?

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
I'm going this weekend.. I hope it happens then! This year has been a great year for KI.

Carowinds will be investing $50 million in the next three years!
Found this on Carowinds Connection... They are FINALLY starting. I wonder how long it will take for the track.

Nick's #KIbestday
When I read the first sentence I said "oh gosh..." Anyways, its always good that you had fun! Which did she like more, roller coasters or haunts?

Problems
It seems to have sped up a bit for me. I don't know about you guys but it was taking about 45 seconds to load a page but now it is down to 25. (note that I have bad internet connection where I am right now) EDIT: The slowness has stopped for me. Now down to less than 5 seconds with full bars of Wi-Fi.

Problems
I have been getting the same problem as well... Usually the site loads pretty fast for me.

This ride is beautiful! I can't believe it! My home park... Getting a giga coaster! I also love the new entrance, seems a lot more modern and well designed than the old one.

Next New Ride?
Kings Island should get an uplift to the Oktoberfest area in the following years. Sort of like what Cedar Point did to the Gemini Midway. Maybe they could add a new set of Flying Scooters and a Ferris Wheel or something. Oktoberfest seems to be losing its claim as an area of the park in a way that I can't really describe. If they added a few new rides, then it would really improve the area. But please do not take back Carowinds' Flying Scooters! ThatGuy, who must do everything he can to prevent KI from taking their ride back.

Six Flags New England's Cyclone Closing
This should be interesting... I wonder why RMC always uses red track. I think blue track would look really cool.

Has Ridership Increased on "The Bat" After This Year's Makeover?
It is probably more popular because Banshee is so close to it. For example, if I went to Kings Island and rode Banshee, I would probably want to go ride The Bat next because it is the closest coaster. Between the years that Son of Beast was SBNO and Banshee opened, the closest coaster was Invertigo. Edit: What I am saying is that not many people went back there before Banshee opened. Sorry I didn't make it clear.

Big Coasters In Future?
I found the Carowinds Hurler to be smooth as well... But from what I hear the first turn after the drop was rebuilt so that may be a part of it. The trick is to "lean" into the turns. What I found weird is that Thunder Road was rougher for me. Then again, I like rough coasters, steel or wooden. Being thrown around adds to the excitement and out of control feeling.

I agree, they haven't said anything about Rome for a week or so. They have even changed their countdown from the Roman ruins to something like a honeycomb of some sort. Anyways, the Carowinds PR has done a really good job hyping up this event. I would even put it on par with the hype surrounding the Banshee announcement last year.
