  1. I know park merch has always been a bit pricey as is to be expected in any of these sorts of places, but man do I miss the days when stuff still felt somewhat more reasonable for what you were buying vs today when most hoodies are $70+. That's not to say there still aren't some closer to $50+, but most of the ones I like are in the higher priced categories. Overall, I miss when merch was a little more reasonable vs being absolutely insane now. I get it though....cheap passes etc etc. I got to see some of this stuff while at the park for PN and saw some cool pieces. Just can't justify the cost for it.
  2. Agree with the sentiments already made. Having to use your phone for literally everything is just ridiculous. I get that in some ways it makes sense to have everything linked to one place and since 99.9% of the population has a smart phone, just make it all in one spot. But if we could just go back to have physical cards/maps/etc this would help cut down maybe even a small fraction of people having to use their cell phones for EVERYTHING and thus maybe some people will keep their phone locked up or with a non-rider or in their vehicle instead of it flying out on a ride. I know there will always be stupid people who think that THEIR on-ride video or pictures or whatnot will be better than any professional/made with permission content....so long as there are cell phones and no real policing of devices in the parks across the board, but having the option to have physical items again would be helpful. Not to mention for those of us who just like to collect things of this nature to have as small keepsakes or scrapbooking material. And yes....them not having physical passes is just nonsense. I still use my old Platinum Pass from years ago because the barcode is still valid so long as I keep it renewed. But the idea that I can't get a new pass card is annoying. I like having the card because it makes going through the parking tolls easier as the scanner reads the card's barcode much better than on a phone. Using your phone to scan in is slow and not always accurate and hold's up the line if you do a self-scan in. And it's also nice to be able to hang onto it in SC because it's waterproof and any time myself or my lady get thirsty I can keep it with me to obtain drinks without having to go back and forth to our locker to retrieve a phone for this matter. Now I know there are people doing work-arounds with this by printing off their barcodes and laminating them to effectively be able to accomplish the same thing one would with a physical card. But this just proves that there is still a need for them!
  3. If a Screamin' Swing goes anywhere, as already previously discussed, I think the best placement would be in the former Xtreme Skyflyer plot. That seems like the best use of that space if such a ride were to make its way to KI. I highly doubt KI will get a Screamin' Swing though. I don't feel like there is a wide installation of those. If Invertigo ends up Invertigone ( sorry not sorry for the puns ), they better put something worthy in it's place. I will repeat, even if the ride isn't as popular as it once may have been, no one can deny the intensity factor. It is one of the very few truly intense rides left in the park that doesn't apologize for being so. If something much tamer took its place I would be really disappointed.
  4. I fear that most Intamins, regardless of model, may see the axe a lot sooner than we want them to. Considering a lot of the "greatest hits" are now 20+ or close to that age mark now, most of them being prototypes or early technology users, I fear we may see a lot more of them get taken down in favor or lower cost/higher reliability rides. Maybe I am overreaching on this mentality, but I really don't think I am. This is a chain in absolute dire straits from everything we've seen so far. I have zero faith they will invest in anything they see no profit from or anything that is going to cost them more than it's worth if they can get away with it. Even if said coaster is historic/popular, I simply don't see them caring if their bottom dollar has to suffer to improve or upgrade something that is over 20+ years old. Six Axes seems to know no bounds.
  5. Yeah those cables have been hanging for a moment. I guess you could say it's still very "Invertibroken". I wish the park would make some kind of formal announcement about it-whether they decide to remove it or repair it. I really hate this whole line of secrecy. And the fact that the park was essentially hounded into making sure people knew Monster wasn't going anywhere. Why can't the same courtesy be made for Invertigo? I know that SF has been awful about letting people know about ride removals, but I just don't see the benefit in doing that. Transparency will always garner more respect than not.
  6. Happy for the PT fans as your wish has been granted. I will give it a try at some point next year. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Still curious though. This doesn't fit the 2026 Family Thrill attraction...unless that's been canceled in lieu of this...or there is still something waiting around the corner for the old Crypt building (highly doubtful...)
  7. I just want to say that 8 years later, MT is absolutely my favorite coaster in the park. She's obviously fully broken in at this point and she is now about to be in her peak time of year. I love a chilly night ride on this thing. Row 12 or bust for me.
  8. A haunted indoor bar Instead of The Conjuring it'll be "The Stumbling"
  9. Bring back the pumpkin spice funnel cake! I'll fully admit my basic self absolutely loved this and wish they would bring it back for one of the fall food items
  10. This actually truly would be a haunted attraction/maze! Trying to navigate through the DG without getting hurt. Testing your physical strength to move carts/totes that are in your way and your mental stamina for patience to try and find help...but the help is sitting outside on a smoke break yelling at their SO over late bills or kids Sadly I am not a PT fan. I was very young when I got to experience it and honestly barely remember anything about it. I was probably 4-5 years old at the time and it doesn't hold any real value to me. I realize it is very popular with those of you who got to experience it and remember it vividly and if this is a reboot of it, I'm happy for you. But honestly if it is a reboot, it probably won't exactly entice much excitement from me unless they do something really unique/imaginative with it. Otherwise, it'll just be one of those things that I'll wait to do on a day that isn't terribly busy to experience because the nostalgia for this particular thing isn't for me.
  11. It is interesting to see this teaser shot in two different buildings. The obvious first shots being taken in the planned closed Boo Blasters building and the very short segment in The Crypt building. Out of the two, I am far more curious as to what they have planned for The Crypt building.
  12. Whatever they choose to do, I get the distinct feeling that people are either going to be incredibly happy with whatever they choose to do with it or they are going to be big mad about it. Lets just hope they do something that will be a positive change and not some half-done attempt at a "new" attraction. This still leads me to wonder if this is somehow going to be what they deem the new 2026 family "thrill" attraction. Because quite frankly, I'm not entirely sure how this building could be outfitted with anything that would classify as thrilling per se. Unless of course they just decide to demolish the building all together and use the grounds for the 2026 attraction. I think that would actually really upset a lot of folks since tis building is historic and that would eliminate yet another indoor attraction for the park. So many questions and still so few answers. I would love to say that it makes me excited, because the optimistic me wants to still believe there are exciting things in store and that there are worthy things coming down the pipeline for our beloved KI, but with the recent season and the disregard for a lot of areas, there is still that glimmer of doubt lingering that whatever is coming won't be a KI worthy attraction. I don't want that to be the case, believe me. I'm not expecting anything majorly "wow" much anymore since I fear those days might be behind us for quite awhile. But I still want to see good attractions that will make folks happy that are actually fun be added until we get our next major installment.
  13. ^Definitely needs a repaint or something. I remember the first year it ran as The Bat, that sign was so eye catching and really popped against the trees. Now its just faded and sad looking.
  14. I have a suspicion that there won't be any new rides added to the WF lineup. I mean, really, what else could they really add? I don't really see them adding another coaster since I'm not really sure which ones could operate safely/efficiently anyways in lower temps. I know the startup temp has to be 30-35 degrees for most coasters. But I really don't see them willingly running another coaster seeing as they added Racer and SSBR last year making a total of 4 coasters. I suppose if they wanted to run another flat they could, but really which flat could they really run? I'd love to see Delirium run during WF, but I think a lot of folks would skip it because of how cold it would be. I also am not sure of the temp specs required for a Huss Giant Frisbee to safely start up/operate. I feel like Delirium can't really be much more complex than say, Sol Spin. I was honestly shocked Sol Spin has been part of the WF lineup seeing as the hydraulic lines are mostly exposed. But it seems to run just fine in the cold and I feel like its actually more fun with the chilly air. It'll be interesting if they do add something, just not really sure what else they could add that would be able to handle the colder temps and safely operate since a lot of our flats are older, prototypes or haven't had a full overhaul.
  15. Hopefully they will get it up and running for Haunt. I know realistically they may not open it at all this season, but seeing it back up and running would be great, even if it's just for a little longer. I appreciate them keeping this old classic alive.
  16. I know they would never do it, but imagine a retracked Invertigo in the same way The Great Nor'Easter (Vekoma SLC ) has been, giving it a super improved experience and some revamped trains with better tracking capabilities and the new style restraints Vekoma now uses. I know that would never happen as that would be a very expensive overhaul, but the ride quality and overall experience would be leveled up while also keeping the only operating Vekoma Invertigo stateside in operation and far better.
  17. Oh 2009 was such a pivotal year for me at KI. I started taking some of my first trips as an adult with my friends without my mom. But I also have some incredible memories going that year with my mom too. My best friend and I lined up opening day that year to be among the first to ride Diamondback. I still have my first rider t-shirt in basically brand new condition. Haven't worn it since actually. I can still remember how lively the park was with the likes of not only the shiny new Diamondback ( and I can still slightly recall the spiel they used to play over the speakers to describe the ride's unique seating and such ), but Firehawk was only two years into it's tenure at KI ( not counting it's time at GL ) and still a very popular coaster. Son of Beast was still roaring and I got my last ride ever on it in June of that year before it closed for good. Vortex was alive and well and still attracting lines. It was such a transitional year for the park as Cedar Fair was really starting to climb into the drivers seat and overtake the Paramount branding. Nickelodeon still existed and still had a super bright and lively take on the park. Generic names were taking over the former Paramount movie names. Haunt still had some teeth to it like its former Fear Fest days. I don't recall there being as much drama in the lines and upheaval among the crowds as there are today. Not saying that there weren't the occasional fights, but nowhere nearly as bad as it is now. We didn't have smart phones ruling our lives nor did we have to worry about getting hit in the face with one. If we wanted to take decent pictures we had to bring in a digital camera. I used to carry mine with me everywhere. I have many photos from this year archived on a hardrive I'd have to dig into, but for me 2009 was a truly special year. For it being such a transitional year, it probably holds some of the best memories for me with my mom and my friends. The park had such a major spark to it that year. Diamondback really kicked off a new era and gave fans a hopeful glimpse of what could be.
  18. I wish they'd bring back Coaster Campout. I wanted to do it but life was pretty hectic during that time.
  19. I'd say just "Swoop". Those photos are really cool btw. Love seeing old historic pictures pop up that aren't widely seen or known about. It's fascinating seeing the color scheme they chose. Really late 80's/early 90's vibes for sure.
  20. When the day does come for Invertigo, I hope the Roller Coaster Museum picks it up. Ours is the only one that has not been uprooted from its original home and I think it would be great if it could be kept at the museum for the purpose of preserving the history of this particular model of coaster. I might also add that it would be neat if they also picked up Batwing from SFA seeing as it will also be on the chopping block. The last of its kind deserves a special place to be remembered.
  21. We as humans spend farrrrrrrrr too much time looking at screens. Which is why I fear this could possibly end up being a screen based attraction if they choose to keep the building and continue the tradition of dark rides. I realize animatronics cost a lot to upkeep and what not, but there is a sense of realness to them that gives the more analog feeling-something you can really touch vs another digital screen based thing that we as a society are already oversaturated with. If there is going to be any screen-based attractions happening, I would much rather them bring back the FX theater with the motion seats. That is still something I wish all the time they would bring back because it was yet another option to escape the heat/cold and still do something fun. It was also another option to break up the bigger rides. It was just fun/thrilling enough to keep the thrill seekers happy, but not overly wild for younger/less thrill seeking guests. I saw it as the more mature dark ride of the park. It is crazy to me to think that during my lifetime there were 4 indoor rides ( FoF, SDATHC/BB, FX Theater, TR:TR/Crypt ). And this isn't even counting the KI Theater. Shortly, we will be just down to one once BB closes for however long.
  22. I'm hoping they will squeeze another season or two out of it. It bears repeating the inversion deficit in the park...not to mention this is really one of the heavy hitters for the thrill seekers who want something intense. Yes, the ol' boy is of the old-age Vekoma and therefore doesn't always track as good as newer coasters ( and newer Vekomas) but in the saying of those of us who learn how to ride these things, I learned the best spots for me are on the ends of the trains where you don't face anyone. Keep your head on one side of the restraint or firmly placed against the headrest and you're good to go. This is now one of only a few coasters that can still occasionally make me gray-out and the only one at KI that can make me do that. We have a rare relic, but it's one that I hope makes a return before the season is out...if not by next season.
  23. I mean. Oktoberfest really would fit in well at the park seeing as there are no shortages of booze at every turn...
