What is the Capacity of Each Coaster’s Full Que?
How long it takes to get thru the queue is different than the capacity (how many people) can be in the queue at one time. And then of course Fast Lane throws an additional variable into the mix, along with if the ride has storage, how accommodating the seats are to different sized riders, number of associates on the floor, etc. A full FL queue will impact the regular line wait much more than a no wait FL. But back to the original question, most queues are designed for an average of 1 person per 1.5 feet, but that can vary too by group. Take any queue with steps. Sometimes you may see 1 person per step, and sometimes 3 people in the same group will stand on the same step. So if you are looking for something to do, google map the distances of a queue to figure it out LOL.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
True....however, if they are down chainwide but doing consistent numbers at KI, they can't have ours be higher than the rest or everyone will renew and purchase at another park selling it cheaper and that does have indirect effects on KI.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
The big concern I have if Phantom Theater comes back is everyone's memory and fondness of something usually grows bigger than it was and may result in a letdown. While I have fond memories of it as well, I suspect if they put in an exact replica of it in its glory days and everything brand new, people now would be underwhelmed. I hope I am wrong, but I suspect there will be a lot of Negative Nancy comments if PT returns as it won't live up to the memory and hype people have created for it.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
I have said for years, good or bad, that because KI is so woven into the fabric of the community that enough people buy passes for themselves or grandchildren and never go and still buy passes every year because of the perceived value that the park could cut back on spending without much loss of revenue. Sad but true. Sure they lose some enthusiasts, but it is more than made up with new families. This is supported with Six Flags stating KI is the most oversaturated park in the chain. That dictates the spending. I have joked here that we could Geauga Lake the place and still sell 100,000 passes to a closed park LOL. KI passes are that much of a summer tradition to many people. I have also joked here we could go years without spending any money before enough would say "I am not renewing" to make a measurable impact. Now who knows if that is 2, 5, 10, or 15 years LOL. Let's hope they don't go that extreme. They will never admit this, but they probably wanna see how little can they spend before they see measurable drops in passes and attendance at KI. KI is not in growth mode. They are in maintain their base with small incremental growth mode and that drives the spending amount. That is what happens when a park is oversaturated in their market. The small enthusiasts communities don't like that, but you would be surprised how many people rate their experiences as great because they are not following the "drama" found here and on social media. They go and have a great time and don't care who the PR person is or that a trash can hasn't been emptied yet. One could say they are complacent. And in a sense they are, but as long as people keep coming and spending, they have no incentive to do more than what they need to.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
Hanks and Enrique's is the same food and inside is the same. They slapped some paint on the exterior and a new name and the place is way more packed than it was as Hanks (I don't ever recall Hanks having a line out the door and that is common now), so it did make a positive difference.... The market has changed and comparing the KI of today/tomorrow to the KI of yesteryear is setting one up for disappointment. Comparing the record breaking and prototypes we used to get to now is a fair comparison and you are right based on that comparison, but their strategy then was to get name recognition and be known and that is not the strategy or market right now. Right now families is where the money is. That is where the investment will continue until the market and consumer spending dictate a change. But I don't see a coaster wars scenario returning until there is close competition to warrant it. Right now CP, HW, DW, KI, etc. all have their lanes and it is working for them.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Yeah, Terpy would be having a field day with this merger! I think the only way that would be a violation would be if that was their intent all along to not do these improvements and they mentioned it to deceive investors. I think they could make the argument that company performance failed to meet expectations and proceeding with these improvements and taking on more debt would be more detrimental to the shareholders than delaying the improvements. But I am not a lawyer and blah blah blah lol

Would be nice if the article said what the violations were....having poor performance isn't a securities law violation... https://www.kget.com/business/press-releases/accesswire/1062877/six-flags-entertainment-corporation-fun-under-investigation-for-potential-securities-law-violations-contact-levi-korsinsky-today/

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
We both knew, and expect, the park to be busy during Haunt despite this change. People love themselves the spooky season. People have been complaining for years that Haunt is watered down and just a regurgitation of Haunt 2019, yet every year we see tons of people in the park and Fast Lane lines approaching, out the queue. People complain, but people still show up. Gotta love the people on FB claiming they bought their passes EXCLUSIVELY for Haunt but when they start charging $10 for the mazes suddenly all of the haunted houses are run-down run-of-the-mill boring snoozefests that aren't worth a nickel out of your pocket. If that's the case, why did you buy a pass just to go? Some of the biggest complainers I know were among the first to buy that pass LOL

Case in point - charging to park and never filling in the potholes

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
Yeah, we would all love to know that number. But given the rumor that season long FL sales are now uncapped (and based on the lines the past few years on busy Saturdays and Haunt Saturdays, one would probably agree they are not capped), one would have expected this money grab to be uncapped as well. Unless they truly do plan to keep the lines minimal and the attraction top notch. I guess we find out in a little over a month! But I am sure the procrastinators that were going to buy this are now ticked!

For all those complaining that the upcharge was stupid and would fail, the season long option is now sold out....

Winterfest
Sure, and I see people pay for parking, but we never see the potholes fixed Putting on Winterfest is a major expense for 20 something days.
-
Winterfest
Don't give them any ideas LOL. Imagine the comments if they now made Winterfest an add-on or meal and drink plans not valid after Labor Day. Sadly Six has already done the Labor Day thing to meal plans in the past, so I could see that happen.
-
Winterfest
Sure, but when they added 20ish something days to the calendar for Winterfest and never adjusted the season pass price to accommodate those extra days, it is now taking your pass price and spreading it over more days. The lights ain't free. If the daily admits have steadily dropped over time and it is mainly passholders and meal plans coming, how can that pay for all of Winterfest? I have said here before Winterfest doesn't make as much as people think and would be surprised if it stuck around longer than the original version. One bad winter and it is money loser. I think they would be more inclined to cancel Winterfest and extend the season thru November. That way if a weekend sucks, they just don't open or close early and haven't spent a lot of money, whereas a bad winter after spending all the time and money to put up the lights can't afford to close a weekend or early.
