Are those that already bought Prestige getting the shaft once again?
Why wouldn't they have that feature available in the app? Were you on park wifi or your cellular service and if on cellular did you ever experience any slowness due to number of people in the park?

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
I hear you, but again, until people quit buying the product in the quantity it is being bought at, at some level they think they don't have to do anything. In my experience, very few walk away due to the product and not return. Most end up renewing anyway, and if they sit out a season, come August they buy for the next year because the deal is too good. Once there is a dip that they cannot write-off due to weather, then we may see some additional spend. Until then, they are in maintenance mode of keeping their existing base and accounting for some loss, along with some new and will continue to invest less and less until that dip value is found.

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
And like I said, the Texas parks (AKA Jeff Siebert's parks) are getting the money as that is where the chain sees growth. Doesn't make it right, but the powers that be are complacent with a park like KI and as I have stated many times, as long as people keep buying passes, what is their incentive to improve the product? At the end of the day, complaints and all, people still return every year. Passes are bought every year. Passes are bought and never used year after year. So a park like KI suffers as a result. But people will still buy their pass. I am sure we will see you in the park this year....

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
It all comes down to money, or lack thereof. And while we may not agree, they see KI as a full-filled, growth limited market and don't believe the gains would exceed the costs. And Orion-XL200 has pointed out many times KI isn't hurting for attendance. That is why Texas is currently seeing the spend - they are deemed a market with a lot of growth potential.

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
Right, but they need to keep the name to build a following. Switching it up every two years won't gather the following. Who knows if KI changed the food offerings since they didn't have tasting cards lol. Or maybe that is why they didn't so the food could stay the same...

Jana Partners pushes Six Flags to explore sale, replace board chair
Sis Flags has been on that step for years....as long as people keep buying passes, they will continue to do whatever they want. As an example, will they see a big drop in Prestige renewals for 27, probably not, even though everyone should wait and see if they free upgrade gold....

Aren't Dollywood's festivals the same old, same old, every year? Heck some of Dollywood's shows ran for years. What about Disney and Busch?

The park simply (finally) found a legal way to keep it out of enthusiasts hands under the broad umbrella of trade secret.- Bye bye, Boo Blasters
Here is your chance to own a piece... https://merch.cedarfair.com/collections/boo-blasters-auction- Six Flags Divests Parks: A Strategic Shift Explained
It has had a lot of potential for many years. When/If the land around it ever develops, then it may finally follow in KI's footsteps. The issue now is the debt the company carries and eventually they will have to dangle a nice carrot to entice the purchase of the next wave of parks and sadly this would be the likely candidate from the portfolio.- Six Flags Divests Parks: A Strategic Shift Explained
Wonder which park(s) becomes an AI data center as the land is more valuable for that than an amusement park....- Enchanted Parks, in Partnership with EPR Properties, Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Six Regional Amusement Parks
caveat emptor They are giving enough reasons to wait until the day you actually decide to go to a park to buy a pass. In the past it always cost more, now not so much. And they will wonder why come July/August the 2027 season pass sales are off to a slow start. Heck at this rate, they may start selling 2027 passes in May - "buy your 2027 pass and get in the rest of 2026 free"- Six Flags makes changes to FastLane
caveat emptor- "The Largest Amusement and Waterpark in the Midwest"
And that is exactly why KI puts in and does what they do.... People are going to come regardless based on proximity and cost.- Six Flags makes changes to FastLane
Can't wait to see how many have their phone out on the ride or the brake run scheduling their next ride....- Kings Island General Discussion 2026
Sadly, they have played this game before. Put in I-305 at KD and didn't get the return. Thought they could make Carowinds the CP of the south and Fury barely moved their needle and slowed down the spend. Maybe it will be different in Texas, but I think Spiegel pointed out once that parks started getting better handles on returns around the time Kingda Ka went in that it barely moved the needle. For most parks, the capital spends are to maintain the attendance and some nominal growth, but if they expect Texas to have a 20% increase in attendance this year or something more than say a percent or two, they will be disappointed.- Six Flags makes changes to FastLane
I haven't experienced that system, but I would think it would cut down on all the sharing that they clearly say is not allowed of people posting pics on FB where they left their used wristband when they left for the day. I could see those that like to marathon rides not liking the new system. No phones on rides, yet they go to a system that encourages it. I also see lots of phones dying needing to access the phone so much, as well as people not being able to get the app running based on network congestion.- Kings Island General Discussion 2026
It has more to do with Six Flags has said Texas is an undersaturated market, so they are spending big there. Now what happens if/when that doesn't turn into the numbers they expect to see...- Dollywood taking 2026 to the next level
