KI wins Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids' Area again
I agree with you - I simply pointed out CP because for being known as a roller coaster park, they do have more rides that children under 48" can ride than at KI... Plus KD has some cool mini-cars that kids actually drive that aren't on a metal guide track - like kids can actually drive them down the pretend city streets and run into curbs, parked cars, disobey traffic lights and stop signs, etc. just like their parents do Don't get me wrong, I am glad KI continues to win the award, but just like a top coaster award, this is a subjective award as well...

Cedar Point Crowds
A lot of CF parks have closed early this year with very little notice - CP wasn't the only one to close today with short notice...much more so than previous years. And yes this will prevent people from taking a chance if wet weather is predicted, but they want that to ensure that they have a valid claim for low attendance when making that claim on conf calls

KI wins Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids' Area again
You mean like how they took out the train and White Water Canyon to build Mystic Timbers If they wanted to save trees, they could have...

KI wins Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids' Area again
Oh I know CP won't win that award - for the same reason Disney doesn't Awards are subjective...and sometimes other thing$ influence selections...and this one is no exception...

KI wins Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids' Area again
Hmmm - but CP has 17 family rides and 14 kiddie rides (total of 31 rides) that children under 48" (that means not the 48" rides for those keeping score) can ride; while KI has 7 family rides and 20 kiddie rides (total of 27 rides) for that same height requirement...and CP Snoopy areas have more shade! But you are right, you can spend a whole day in KI Planet Snoopy because those lines are generally longer than Planet Snoopy lines in other CF parks

KI wins Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids' Area again
Those parks are not as season pass heavy...for those parks it is a way to drive new season pass sales...

Cedar Fair hits record values for Kings Island
Already being discussed here:

Labor day crowds- how bad?
What is interesting the past two days is that the regular lines are not as full as the crowds would make you expect them to be. I have seen days with less attendance and more crowded queues. I guess everyone is enjoying themselves with the dollar day deals and not riding rides lol Now the FL lines the last couple of Sundays is a different story!

Kings Island Announces Kings Mills Antique Autos for 2019!
Where do you go when the record is over See if anyone knows where that is from lol

Labor day crowds- how bad?
Line for security is still well past flagpole....

Labor day crowds- how bad?
It is also sad that for two straight weekends most food places do not have water cups available to have water with your meal...especially with this heat!
-
Labor day crowds- how bad?
FastLane for Drop Tower is out the entrance...that is how busy it is!
-
Best day to go to the park 8/25 or 9/03?
It got more crowded as night approached. Drop Tower was 40 minute wait around 8 to give you an idea...and the view from top showed the toll booth slammed and long lines coming in for fireworks. I was shocked how many appeared to be coming just for the fireworks.

Cedar Fair attendance down 3% through July 4th
And now Cedar Point offers bring a friend FREE... https://www.cedarpoint.com/play/events/bring-a-friend-for-free

2019 Season Passes
I believe it has been communicated to you wrong - the regular season pass isn't valid after labor day...and this promotion says good for 2018 Haunt and Winterfest, so what gold or platinum perks are not provided?
-
2019 Season Passes
It is mainly because the rollout of that promotion is different at each CF park - at Cedar Point new passes are only good for one visit, Wonderland isn't good for Haunt, etc...if it were consistent amongst the chain...
-
2019 Season Passes
^especially since parks like Cedar Point only allow one visit and Wonderland not valid for Haunt for the promotion...if the free entry for 2018 were consistent across the chain then maybe, but that isn't the case

Six Flags Launches Preeminent New Loyalty Program
Wasn't that the same KIC member that also had a talking to by security for exploiting a loophole in FUNperks Yes, the rollout was much too soon, even for beta, so it had complaints. Much like the meal and drink plan that changes AFTER purchase of said plan (cross-threading LOL), much of the frustration people expressed was the various levels and how much needed to be spent to get what, etc. FUNperks was prior to meal and drink plans, and one of the major selling points of it was you would get free stuff the more you purchased. For many people, they were spending in the park regardless buying food and drink, so this gave them rewards for spending. The more you spent, the more options you had available to you. You could earn free Cabanas, pizza parties in the International Street Restaurant, a one day drink wrist band, behind the scenes tours, discounts for season pass renewals (maybe up to $20 or more per pass), beagle bucks, etc. A lot of choices. It would be interesting to see if FUNperks had been a success, would the meal and drink plans follow in later years? After all, had FUNperks been a success, the per capita spending would be higher than the current level of spending in the park by most passholders with the meal and drink plan, and introduction of those plans probably would have devalued and eliminated the FUNperks program... So it will be interesting to see how SIX plan works out...If they see a substantial increase in spending by Dining Pass season pass holders at each visit, perhaps we will see a similar program. But I doubt the incentive will be there at SIX to increase spending significantly more than those with a Dining Pass already spend now...
-
Six Flags Launches Preeminent New Loyalty Program
Fortunately FUNperks was just for purchases, not shows and rides. That aspect will be interesting to see how SIX administers that portion!
-
Six Flags Launches Preeminent New Loyalty Program
FUNperks was a great program. To bad too many people exploited the shortcomings in the computer programming for self gain and partly helped kill the program... If it had only been rolled out properly instead of prematurely... With the addition of all the season long add ones, that program would not be as effective. It will be interesting to see if this program succeeds at SIX given the Dining Pass, etc. does reduce passholder spending each visit..

Kings Island Announces Kings Mills Antique Autos for 2019!
I think the correcting stuff Paramount did wrong is more in lines with things that were at the park Pre-Paramount that Paramount eliminated or destroyed or neglected and correcting that. A ride that was all Paramount like Son of Beast, what does CF have to gain by that? Paramount isn't in the park business, it isn't like they have to one-up them. I also seem to recall a lot of people upset when Son of Beast was announced - not about the ride itself, but that it was demeaning The Beast legacy and that Paramount was trying to take advantage of that legacy. Why tempt that again.. I think at the Banshee announcement, CF did a nice job of burying the SOB, and the monument at the entrance is a fitting tribute. If Son of Beast were to return now, it would be the Phoenix...

2019 Season Passes
They have offered this for renewals for the last several years...and not part of a Flash Sale...Now new purchases is something new...
-
2019 Season Passes
With the lockers only being available for the season long pass at front gates of park and Soak City, what happens when you arrive later in the day and all the lockers are utilized? If enough of the "limited quantity" is sold and daily use, I could see days where all the lockers at these locations are utilized...where is the fine print subject to availability, etc... I already see the line at guest services for people complaining they can't use their locker pass...

Guests Say The Darnest Things
^and get their ice problem worked out LOL. When I would see this happen at Hanks, the refill station to the left upon exiting Hanks was open but empty of guests...with ice dispensed all over and non left in the machines
