  1. Wait, we can see the mounts on the triangle footers? Why was I not informed?
  2. Indeed, I am now well aware that Incredible Hulk uses a launch system not designed or implemented by B&M, but the fact remains: it is indeed a launched B&M and as such no matter what this coaster is, it will not be the first launched B&M. First coaster with a B&M designed launch? Maybe.
  3. Somewhat unrelated, but doesn't the Incredible Hulk ride at Islands of Adventure count as a launched B&M?
  4. That seems about as likely as a 300 foot spiral slide. Wait...
  5. Nice find! Although, I kinda doubt Cedar Fair would 1. Be aware of such an occurrence, and 2. Specially theme a ride to such an occurrence few people likely know about/remember.
  6. Don't forget Ouimet's guarantee that there are currently no additional Wing Riders planned for any Cedar Fair parks. After all, we can trust him, right? ...right?
  7. Guys, just because he's a new member doesn't mean he could hold legitimate information pertaining to this new ride. I think we need to seriously consider the possibility that what this member says is correct. /sarcasm
  8. I'd steal Ravine Flyer II from Waldameer and plop it anywhere it fits.
  9. Holy Quote chain Batman!
  10. The plot thickens... Do you suppose all B&M track pieces are originally given an X-Works sticker that is then covered by a more specific one? EDIT: kblanken cleared it up.
  11. Now this is getting interesting... You wouldn't happen to have any pictures, would you?
  12. My daily two cents: In my opinion, I don't have nearly enough information to make any kind of logical assumption about what the ride will be, but my gut tells me it won't be a B&M Giga.
  13. Playing the devil's advocate, I don't believe that trip report as far as I can throw it. And since it's a digital representation of a non-physical entity, I can't throw it very far. (If I'm not mistaken, this is the second time in this thread I've made that joke.) I remember watching a news video about Diamondback's announcement and the anchor insisted that the layout showed three loops, and the Dinosaurs Alive "map" thing with lines was heavily speculated to be a coaster...and it turned out to be a sidewalk. As far as I'm concerned, it ain't over until the fat lady sings. Or track pieces show up; whichever comes first.
  14. Ever heard of a ride called Alpengeist? (WIlliamsburg) Great Bear? (Hershey) Unless of course your reliable source considers those too far away. B & M is not in the business of doing favors to parks because said parks "feel bad" or "left out". Look, I don't know whether or not to believe it either. All I know is that I read that exact explanation in the Winter 2013 issue of RollerCoaster!, the official magazine of ACE, and I consider that one of the most reliable sources out there.
  15. I should have known that was coming. Anyway, if I could throw in my two cents, I kinda doubt whatever this is will be a B&M Giga, but not because Cedar Fair doesn't want one - because B&M won't manufacture one. If I'm not mistaken, I read from a reliable source that the only reason B&M went over 300 feet for Leviathan was because Canada's Wonderland had been wanting a B&M Invert since the mid-90s but B&M couldn't give them one because of a clause in the Raptor contract that prohibited the construction of other B&M Inverts at competing parks within a certain distance.
  16. Is this a topic about decoding 2014 or United States trademark laws?
  17. I'd say Gatekeeper ended up being more than just metal key chains.
  18. LordSkippy replied to BB1's topic in KI Polls
I love me some psychedelic rock, outsider music, and surf rock. It's an odd combination; I know.
  19. I don't trust Travel Channel as far as I can throw it. And considering Travel Channel is arguably an abstract concept, I can't throw it very far. So I'm expecting the 'announcement' thing to be a disappointment.
  20. On the topic of bumper cars, I had a lot of fun on the set at Conneaut Lake Park, although less because of their speed and more because of simply how monstrously hard the collisions were. Which is odd considering I'm usually not a fan of unnecessarily rough rides. Seriously, I was shocked I didn't have a headache for the rest of the day.
  21. Can't help but be reminded of this: Gets me every time. So, yeah. I say fake.
  22. Great picture, but how in the world did you get that angle? Drop Tower, I'm assuming?
  23. Anybody else think Slingshot may be a casualty of this new development?
  24. Honestly, I'm most curious about the last line of that teaser on the fence. Maybe it's just me, but I swear up close it looks like the line "...this evil phenomenon can be identified" is just a sticker stuck over whatever is under it. Perhaps whatever is under that sticker is the key to decoding 2014. Or there could have just been a typo and the sticker was a last-minute fix.
  25. Pretty busy. I ended up waiting two hours for Flight of Fear when I got in line around 2:00.
