Life After People
I always would go up there two times a year just to ride Screechin eagle. I actully got free tickets at a hockey game the winter before they closed and was planning to go but they never reopened.

Life After People
Hey you beat me to it, very sad seeing Screechin Eagle falling apart.

Coastermania: Kings Island in the Late 80s/Early 90s
Jungle Jim's bought 2, I tried to take one to turn into a large planter but could for liability issues. I did save a please remain seated during the ride strip and its now is in my dad's fishing boat! We kept the wheels for log flume.

Why Disneyland?
With Hanna Montana being so big on Disney Channel I couldn't see Miley holding her party at Universal Studios.

Giga's Holiday World PTR
Was Korey the only one from Gravity Group there, they are the best group of guys you'll ever meet. Mike Graham and I go to the same church.

Interesting Things Ride-Ops Do
Back in 99 we had a wedding party ride Drop Zone then came over to ride skyflyer, I was over on the flight line and one of the guys suiting up flyer's "can't remember his name" tried to lay down red suits to make a red carpet. We stopped him before anyone stepped on them. Major safety issues with that one.

You can see zodiac in The Racer video too. Vortex video you can see KCKC; I personally miss that ride because my first project in ride maintenance was taking the KCKC boats apart and using a forklift to drop them in a dumpster.

Beast or Son of Beast
Last time I checked this was for Beast and SOB but yes Voyage is just on its own level when it comes to wood coasters, Height, Speed, Air time, Tunnels, very nice usage of the terrain and 90 Degeeeees turns.

Giga's Holiday World PTR
Nice report, I have been wanting to go back since 2006, night rides on Voyage is just amazing. After my first ride on Voyage I took off my beast t-shirt and bought a voyage shirt to wear for the rest of the day. I'm surprised you didn't mention the awesome drop after the mid-course block breaks. The Gravity Group did a good job with Voyage. From the size of the wheel it looks to be a side friction or and up stop wheel.

soon accident
I have full faith that ki's ride maintenance is doing their jobs everyday, working ride maintenance for two years myself I know what goes on to keep rides up and running properly. As for it bursting into flames maybe your playing RCT 3 a little too much, step out side and get some fresh air.

Ride count on Diamondback?
Wow I'm far behind I had a late start this year; 8 during the commercial shoot and 2 night rides last night = 10 rides.

Interesting Things Ride-Ops Do
Back when I worked on FOF if guest would ask for a count down we would count down and launch at 2 instead of 1

Vortex
I haven't ridden Vortex since 2004 and I don't plan on it. Tennesse Tornado has to be the smoothest Arrow looper I have been on, it might be shorter and have three less inversions than Vortex but it has smoother transitions then Vortex.

[PTR] May 31st
Yesterday was my first full day at ki with my little beasties, spent most of the day in kiddie land but I did manage to get two night rides on DB before fireworks. That's funny we were probably in the SRL at the same time since I met RWildman424 and Captain Nemo. I had my Thunder Head t-shirt on, let me know if you seen me. It was a very nice day I'm going to try and post some pics of DB that I took since I couldn't take them the last time I was at the park during the commercial shoot.

Beast or Son of Beast
Don't even have to think about it, Beast is and always will be better than SOB. SOB is only a large lift hill and two painful helix, Beast is simply a back woods classic and for the trims; there have always been trims but I do agree that they have over done them since 2003.

millennium force cable
Well if they are smart they already have replacement parts and a game plan. I have worked with the Department of Agriculture and I'm sure they will be very thorough. I have changed out cables on Drop Zone and if its anything like that its very time consuming work.

Kings Island and...Tornadoes!?!?
I was at Dollywood yesterday and ironically it started to rain when I was waiting in line but luckily no lightning. I worked maintenance back in 2003, we helped with storm damage clean up and we all noticed that the tall grass was all sworld around, mud caked on sides of RVs and there was a tree all mangled up with a tent untouched right next to it. I had to climb Xtreme Skyflyer later on and you could see a s curved path thru the campground and headed toward Kings High School. I don't think it was straight gail winds because not only did the "tornado" knock down the old sign it also ripped off two Beast parking signs and rolled a whole tram into the woods before hitting the camp ground.

SFMM Annouces Terminator Wooden Coaster
I think it is a little odd that they would have a wood coaster to be themed after a Terminator movie. I haven't been on a GCI, thunderhead will be my first next week.
