Other route to get to CP (than using 6)
Violakat03, gigacoaster2k, and I encountered this when we went to The Point for CoasterMania!. There is a road that runs parallel to that stretch of Route 6 about a mile away. If you drive it for a few miles and then turn back onto Route 6 you should be fine. Hope this helps!

Will someone help me?
It all depends. Are you from the area? Do you have a season pass? Some of the best times to go to any amusement park are just after a bout of rain because the lines will almost undoubtedly be shorter. In regards to Sonny, no one really knows when the ride will be back up and running again. You'll just have to wait and see what happens with that.

Cedar Point 6-14 to 6-16
Nice TR. Gotta love Maverick (My favorite steel coaster.) and Skyhawk (My favorite flat ride.). Next time you go there's lots of shade on the Frontier Trail. Like you, I would have gone to GR about the ride ops not checking the restraints on Raptor. That's just laziness. Anyways, it's good to have you back here on KIC!

Son of Beast gone, Yes or No?
I hope they would, but who knows? I just hope if The Big Dipper gets into more trouble than it's already in then ACE defends it before Son of Beast (If it needs it.). Thanks for the gift of awesomeness and no problem on being a Son of Beast fan. I've liked it ever since I rode it for the first time in its opening season when it had its loop (after waiting 2 hours to ride it, mind you). If I ever see that we're at the park on the same day on here I'll PM you my cell phone number so I can contact you and we can ride it together (If it's up and running.). Maybe all us KIC'ers who like Son of Beast should band together and just ride it over and over one day if this current problem gets resolved.

Son of Beast gone, Yes or No?
No, I don't want Son of Beast gone, and no, I don't think it will be gone in the next five years for two reasons: 1. ACE will try to save it since it is wooden and helped to break numerous records. 2. Just because a coaster is rough doesn't mean that it will get torn down. Rolling Thunder, Blue Racer, and Mean Streak are all rough and they're not bonfire status yet. Heck, Texas Giant is getting an overhaul, and my brother, who rode it while he lived in Texas, thought it was WORSE than Son of Beast in terms of roughness. I'm one of the few people that will defend this ride 'til the very end if it is decided that the ride will be no more. Personally, I'd rather ride it than ride things like Backlot Stunt Coaster, Blue Racer, Adventure Express, or Vortex. It's my second favorite wooden coaster both at Kings Island and overall, (It actually becomes #1 if The Beast's trims are on. ) and I SERIOUSLY doubt it's going anywhere soon. I'd miss it almost as much as I do King Cobra.

Best Diamondback Seats
I'm happy with pretty much any seat, but I prefer row 16 of any train on Diamondback. AIRTME!!!

Diamondback Commercial
I took a look at both videos and they start out EXACTLY the same way. They're actually riding Behemoth in both videos too! Thanks Chris!. I'd have never noticed.

Graying out on coasters with high Gs
Except for the "cause some impact" part, you're right. I'm a Biology major and the brain is simply lacking oxygen. If you do happen to black out it's a protective mechanism that protects the brain from a lack of any more oxygen from the outside environment.

UFO Over Kings Dominion?
Watch at about 4:15. Both videos show smoke rings from Volcano.

Daily News Top 10 roller coasters of all time!
I'd vote in that, but there are at least a few critically acclaimed coasters not in there that CLEARLY deserve to be (Voyage anyone?). I realize there's an "Other" choice, but I'd be clicking that like none other. Plus, they only focused on record breakers and milestone coasters, whereas I prefer a little innovation.

Giga's 6-14-09 TR
As always, it was great to hang out with you. I STILL can't believe I'm so tall that my head was in TWO pictures for Little Bill's. That was classic!

Quick PTR from KIC Glam Rocker Party 6/14
Nice TR and it was great to see you again, Dustin! I hope to ride Diamondback at least one more time with you this season.

Venerable Cedar Point Has Much To Offer, But Roller Coasters Put It On The Map
Great article. Thanks for sharing it with us, Terpy. I agree with him on Mean Streak and Maverick, but I'm still not sure what to think about Magnum. I've had 5 rides on it and every one has been different (some good, some bad). I'm also gonna have to try out the wave runners some time. Always wanted to ride one of those...

6-13/6-14 TR
Nice TR, Mark. It was nice to meet you and get somes rides in with you on Diamondback!

Flying Objects
WOW! That's far away! Must have fallen out either during or just after it turned up the hill.

Flying Objects
I don't think I've seen anything fly off on Diamondback, but I remember Justin_M17 caught a hat on The Racer during Ride Warriors Weekend while on the ride. Also, when we were at Cedar Point last weekend, violakat03, gigacoaster2k, and I saw an unknown object that was either white or silver go over our heads when we went down Millennium Force's first drop.

Ride count on Diamondback?
6 rides today makes 35. I love the new clear box near the stairs that shows all the stuff that's been lost on Diamondback. The darn thing is nearly FULL and Kings Island hasn't even been open for two months yet!

kings dominion new coaster in development
LOL! At least you're honest, Sean. That's the same reason why I didn't post last night.

What level of intensity do you perfer in your rides?
Ok. SOB is on a level on its own, on a level unfathomable (sp?) that only the bravest, yet idiotic, not neccessarily ride warrior people, will ride . coaster_junky - I think I can speak for Beast1979 when I say that I've heard him say that he doesn't like Son of Beast and that's why he prefers not to ride it. Personally, I don't like (let the chastizing begin...) Vortex. I will only ride it once a season to get the credit, or to ride with someone that doesn't want to ride it by themselves. Diamondback FOF - I'm with Terpy on this one. I've read some things about Drachen Fire and Steel Phantom that weren't too positive. Also, PLEASE don't say that you have to be idiotic to ride Son of Beast, even if it's meant as a joke. I love the ride and am completely sane. If you haven't yet please read the last sentence of my post on the "Beast or Son of Beast" topic. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry305277

What level of intensity do you perfer in your rides?
Level 5 for me. Have you met violakat03, pkiboy, and gigacoaster2k? After 6 laps on Raptor (all within about a half hour) on Saturday night's ERT I'd reached my maximum even with Dramamine (I consider myself a "semi-ride warrior! ) They stayed on for ride #7 and would have gotten an eighth ride if the train in front of them hadn't gotten stuck on the MCBR. They prove the fact that you can ride extreme thrill ride after extreme thrill ride multiple times in a row. I have also witnessed them in action all day long both at Kings Island and at Cedar Point. I myself got 3 laps in a row on Diamondback without having to walk to the exit on my birthday. Some people can handle riding ride after ride while others can't. I used to be in category #2 until I took some Dramamine and noted its effects for the first time.

Beast or Son of Beast
Honestly, I've learned not to take other people's opinions when they happen to be negative and essentially say not to ride something (No offense is intended to anyone on here, and I am NOT pointing my finger at anyone. I respect all your opinions.). SOB is my second favorite wooden coaster both at KI and overall (along with it being my fifth favorite ride at KI overall). I had an experience this weekend at Cedar Point in which I was weary to ride Skyhawk because I'd heard the ride was so boring. I rode it and absolutely loved it. In fact, it's my second favorite ride at The Point behind only Maverick. Angrybeaver and I would probably warn you that SOB can get rough in the helixes, but other than that I don't mind the shakiness and find it to be a great ride. In fact, I enjoy going almost 80 MPH on it and have only had one bad experience on it. That, however, was my fault as I shouldn't have leaned my head BACK in the rose bowl. I even rode Mean Streak this weekend despite everyone else in my group saying that it was horrible. What I'm trying to say is ultimately don't let negative opinions get the best of you to the point that you won't even ride a particular ride. One person's trash could be another's treasure.

New Coaster?
I second this idea, Dvo! I rode Skyhawk for the first time this weekend and absolutely loved it. I just wish I didn't have to go four hours North from where I live to ride it.
