Giga's Opening Day PTR/VTR
Hey, that's part of me in my white shirt in that picture of the Snake Pit! I didn't even know you took it. Great trip report by the way. It was nice to meet you and Kat while you were in line for Diamondback. I'd love to see you guys during Ride Warriors Weekend!

I have an idea.
Yeah, that is kind of ironic! I like Terpy's idea for a calendar. Also, maybe someone could start a new topic if they're going to the park like a week ahead of time from when they're going to KI or any other amusement park.

Diamondback Question
With ERT, I got on the ride in about 20 minutes. It would have been 5 to 10 minutes if I didn't have to walk in between all the rails.

your top 5
I've only been to Kings Island and Lesourdesville Lake when it was Americana, and I wanna go to Cedar Point SO BAD. So... 1. The Beast 2. Diamondback 3. Firehawk 4. Invertigo 5. Son of Beast

I have an idea.
The dates in my signature are the dates I know FOR SURE that I'll be at the park. If anyone sees that our dates coincide PM me and maybe we can exchange phone numbers to call or text each other so we can meet at the park. I LOVED meeting some of you guys at Opening Day and only briefly got to talk to a few of you. Just an idea.

Opening Day 2009 Video TR
Great VTR, Kat. I especially liked the video of the fountains. It was a pleasure meeting you, Angie, and all the other KIC'ers yesterday. I hope to see you all on Ride Warriors Weekend!

Single Rider Bob
Sorry to hijack the costume convo , but it's good to hear there's at least one person not concerned about the D-back crew seeing our DB loving faces many, many times!! I told the supervisor running the SRL last night that next week I'd wear my single rider shirt. I'm sure she'll be sick of seeing it after a while, but maybe she won't pester me about whether I'm really a single rider or not! Don't worry about her too much Kat. Just enjoy all your rides on the marvel that is Diamondback.

Single Rider Bob
Hey, as long as I'm getting a laugh then it's okay. I checked this thread earlier in the day and it had no responses and I thought no one cared about it. Now it's on its third page. If you go through with this you've GOT to take pictures of yourself! Sorry about the double post.

Single Rider Bob
I think it's hilarious that Single Rider Bob is inspiring you to actually wear a cape and mask and do marathon rides on Diamondback! Then again, Diamondback is a great ride.

Kittens opening day
Very nice trip report, Kitten. I talked to you and ZosoBeast in line, but I didn't even know you took a picture of me. Very nice to meet you, ZosoBeast, and coasterguy15 along with his friend while in line for The Beast.

Single Rider Bob
I think I found the answer.

You might be a KI addict if you...
That looks really nice, Kat. I especially like KICentral.COM on the sleeve of the shirt. Tell him I said that it looks really good.

in line now for db
Does anyone else think it's ALMOST as fun to watch as it is to ride?
-
who did you see from the forums?
When did you see them? i was with all of them at about 7? in line for Diamondback. I saw rotag1299 when I got off Diamondback at about 9:30 and the rest in the afternoon anywhere from 12:00 to 3:00. Unfortunately, I had to leave at about 5:00 so I didn't get to be part of the group photo near Diamondback's sign.

who did you see from the forums?
Let's see, I saw rotag1299, coasterguy15, ZosoBeast, kittenpooh, violakat03, gigacoaster2k, Avatar, BoddaH1994, Ogrmac, Rollercoast19, indianapolisman, and IBEW_Sparky. It was a pleasure to meet all of you guys. Hopefully, I'll see all of you again and more during Ride Warriors Weekend. I'll be wearing the same shirt.

Single Rider Bob
I saw Single Rider Bob today a few times. I noticed that the top half of the back of his shirt said "Over 1200 Rides Mil. Force 2008." Out of sheer curiosity, did anyone catch what the rest of the back of his shirt said?

Diamondback First Thoughts and Impressions?!
SIMPLY AMAZING! I'll start off with the capacity - I took a pic of the sign and met violakat03 and gigacoaster2k. I thought the line was horrible, but Kat said it was only an hour long. This was when it was stretching to the restroom in Nickelodeon Universe. The line really NEVER stopped moving that much. I rode it 3 times and I waited 20 minutes with ERT, an hour at 3:00, and about 30 minutes with the single rider line (great idea by the way). Queue line - it looks SO deceiving on kiDiamondback.com. It's larger than Firehawk's queue. I also like how you walk under part of the ride, can see people going up the lift hill with ease, and can actually see the chain link working in real time. Sign - spectacular! No other words for me to describe it. Asssigned seating - a disappointment, but you can request a seat as I found out. Lift hill - FAST! I timed it and it took about only 45 seconds from start time to drop. It was also steep (I felt like I was almost flat on my back.). First drop - VERY STEEP! This made the ride exciting from the start. Speed and G forces - obvious beyond all belief when you ride it. Airtime - I was not a fan of airtime before this ride. Diamondback actually made it fun for me. Watching - it's almost as fun to watch as it is to ride in my opinion. The fact that you can walk underneath it twice puts you amongst the action. The splashdown is simply breathtaking. Negatives - Sorry, but I found that there were obvious lulls in action on the three bunnyhills after the MCBR. One more is that I like to sustain speed when I reach it. This ride had constant changes in speed because of the many hills that it has. On a side note I'd like to point out that if at first you don't like it, ride it again. It only got better for me! I found the back more exciting, but also more nauseating (A weak-stomached coaster enthusiast is an oxymoron I know, but I digress.) I rode the front seat once then row 16 then row 14. A word to the wise - if you have a weak stomach, DON'T ride only 30 minutes apart from each other on the back of the ride. This ended up in a protein spill for me. Overall, Diamondback was a great experience that lived up to the hype of a year and a half's worth of anticipation for me. If you have a chance, RIDE IT! It's well worth it!

It's Fast, It's Full of Venom... and It's Here!
Hours away! I can't wait!

Will you be able to sleep tonight before riding Diamondback?!
Congratulations on that, Jackson. You're an inspiration to all of us with your giving and caring spirit.

Will you be able to sleep tonight before riding Diamondback?!
I could BARELY get to sleep last night thinking of Diamondback and what else I'm going to do tomorrow at the park. I KNOW I'm going to have a tougher time getting to sleep tonight.

First looping coaster?
SkyRider - an exact copy of King Cobra and installed a year after. You can bet if I ever go to Wonderland I'll ride this in a heartbeat.
