People OUTSIDE KI Say The Darnedest Things
During Chemistry, my teacher was teaching us how real milk is heterogeneous but store milk is homogeneous. Kid 1: What about blue milk? Mrs. Hansen: What milk? Kid 2: Kings Island Milk!

Holiday World 2011
Also, Wildebeest has been considered (by Holiday World) a coaster. I doubt they'll get another one too soon... Especially with the general 5 years between coaster additions. Also see: http://www.KICentral...=1entry381191

Halloween Haunt 2010
If you're thinking of getting into Halloween events, Kings Island's Halloween Haunt is a good start. Out of the three Halloween events I've been to, USS Nightmare, Dent Schoolhouse and Halloween Haunt, Halloween Haunt (in my opinion) is definitely the least intense. But, keep in mind that both USS Nightmare and Dent Schoolhouse are award winning. Also, Intense attractions necessarily going to be good. The day I went, the park was extremely busy; As a result, I've only walked through Massacre Manor and Trail of Terror. Massacre Manor: Very well themed and great fun, but rather short. The many amusing theming fixtures make up for the not too scary atmosphere. (Make sure you don't miss any of the "Emily" portraits!) Trail of Terror: Much longer and scarier than the former. No animatronics, but with such great scare actors, high tech thrills are not needed... nor preferred. The closest you can get to an old fashioned Haunted Trail. (Also, have you seen the movie "The Mist"? Trail of Terror's fog is THAT thick in some areas. Scare actors emerge from the mist... They look like ghosts!)

First Time To Holiday World
Raven has my very favorite element on any coaster I've ever ridden. Of what I've experienced... X2's Summersaults. Tornado's "Cliff." Beast's Final Helix. Giant Dipper's (Santa Cruz) Tunnel. Expedition Everest's Final Drop. Top Thrill's Launch. Millie's Forces. A certain element on Raven tops all... And by far!

Beach Waterpark Interactive Map
I'd say its much more likely something new is built, than the area's current attractions just being refurbished. Wether it be the Wyandot Lake slides, the log flume pieces or the "miniature golf" Screamscape rumor, I'm not sure. // Also, I'd much hope Snake River Rapids not to be removed. Its a very fun and unique attraction for the whole family... Another one of those deep forest rides that makes The Beach so unique. (My third favorite attraction in the park... Hidden Rapids first, Aztec Adventure second.) 1 The archived 1997 website has a lot of great descriptions to currently operating "flumes." http://web.archive.o...hwaterpark.com/ Edit: Looking through archives, found a much better description to Snake River Rapids:

Beach Waterpark Interactive Map
http://www.KICentral...showtopic=21883 In a post by TOPGUN1993, there's an overhead view of the Wyandot Lake slides. As for the log flume pieces, I have no idea... // The Beach has had a number of rather large general improvements this year. I'll post the PTR, if I can find the time.

If we could get some of KI's defunct flats back...
McSalsa: Do you mean "flat" in the literal sense? In other words, would the transportation rides and dark rides be available? (Log Flumes are, so yes?)

Beach Waterpark Interactive Map
Taken from my Nokia Phone: Interesting... I'd guess that both Snake River Rapids and Jolly Mon Shores will reopen. They're definitely not pretending these attractions don't exist, as Cedar Fair or Six Flags would try to do.

NEW FOR 2011
It would of make sense for Cedar Fair to have bought many of these, and fit them into each of their parks' 3 year rotation. Extremely marketable, and fairly inexpensive... Leaves many, many millions to be distributed among the parks, for general park improvements.

NEW FOR 2011
Even though the signs point directly to Cedar Point getting a WindSeeker, nothing is official nor will be until next week.

According to RCDP, Python no Pepsi: http://www.rcdb.com/406.htm That was pretty fast, considering all the work such a website must be...

Is theme Making a Comeback?
Originally, Amusement Parks always included two elements. The element of Amusement, and the element of Thrill. More recently, the thrill element has taken over almost completely, in certain places. See Cedar Point. They still have shows, part of the "Amusement" category, but their shows, for the most part, are not near the level of their thrill rides. (Not that an impressive show schedule is hard to come by... Sea World, Universal, and Disney all have a large variety of shows, many of which are outright amazing.) Although Cedar Point's gardens, also part of the "Amusement" category, are truly breathtaking. (If I must say so myself!)

Kings Island's Eiffel Tower...
Does the Eiffel Tower at Kings Island have any particular life span? The Eiffel Tower in Paris has been standing since 1889... But I'm not sure Kings Island spends anywhere in that ball park, maintenance- wise.

NEW FOR 2011
^^ For next season? With Cedar Fair's three year plan, I sincerely doubt Kings Island will be getting any capital improvement, until at least 2012. Kings Island just got Diamondback, last year... Also keep in mind that Kings Island doesn't have near the competition, as many of Cedar Fair's other parks.

Flight Of Fear
Back Lot Stunt Coaster and Flight of Fear are both Premier rides. Invertigo is a Vekoma Boomerang. Intamin built both Top Thrill Dragster, and Kinda Ka. From what I've heard, one is much smoother and more enjoyable than the other.
-
NEW FOR 2011
Also keep in mind that Millennium Force is 310 feet tall and Top Thrill Dragster is 420 feet. Any Star Flyer should be at least the third tallest ride in the park. For certain one of the tallest Amusement Park rides, in the world. For height comparison, consider that Kings Island's Eiffel Tower is 315 feet tall. Now imagine that Kings Island made the decision to reinstall Zephyr, on top.

NEW FOR 2011
Yet we're still reading and typing about Cedar Point's next upcoming attraction, right now. Seems this "pathetic attempt" of theirs is working to its full and original purpose.

2012
My father and I enjoyed Holiday World very much. Next year, we're planning on bringing along: my mom, my sister, two grandparents, one uncle, one aunt, and two cousins. Likely, we won't even visit the water park... Also, Holiday World's recent spike in attendance can be attributed to Kentucky Kingdom's closure. Holiday World's gradual rise can be attributed to many people's willingness to return. Edit: Post fixed.

What rides will be at KI when you bring your kids there?
The same thing has been predicted, ever since Disney Land's first season and booming popularity. In the early 1980s, this prediction, for a most part, had become reality. Theme parks had taken over the markets, almost entirely... Kings Island and many other Theme Parks had been designed, entirely based on this notion. Nowadays, small, local parks are either closing down, or coexisting with their much larger, regional rivals. Meanwhile, regional Amusement and Theme Parks compete for the consumer's nickels.

A day at Kings Island
Paragraphing would make your trip report simpler, and easier to understand. Yes, the Carousel Organ hasn't been working for quite a long time. If I understand correct, you're looking for an old organ? I think you'd have more luck talking with the owners of nearby defunct parks. Cedar Fair, I really doubt you'd get a response. (Unless, of course, you have an outrageous amount of money to spend.)

What rides will be at KI when you bring your kids there?
I really don't believe accurate predictions could be given toward Kings Island's future. Who knows who'll own Kings Island? And every company has a different style in running their park(s). See Busch, and Six Flags. They were both, at one point, considered likely as Kings Island's future owners. (Or, with Six Flags, co- owners.) What difference would either of the following brought, from Kings Island's current state? That being said, its unlikely that any owner held steadfast on the intent of operating Kings Island, as our current definition of an amusement park, will consider removing The Beast, The Eiffel Tower, The Beastie, The Racer, Kings Island Theater, or the Royal Fountains. For certain, the rest of Kings Island, even the Carousel, has a future in question. No matter who takes ownership of Kings Island, I believe the following rides will be gone in the next ten years: Flight Deck, The Crypt, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, and Vortex. I have the strong urge to put Backlot Stunt Coaster on the list, but will not. Also, I don't believe Vortex is anywhere near its true "Service Life." A company will, at some point, make this claim. That being said, the only current company I believe would bring Vortex to the brink of its life span, Busch. A few more predictions... (Based on what I've read, heard, and reasoned.) 1. I have a strong feeling that neither Universal nor Busch will get their hands on Kings Island... But I could see a new group forming or rapidly expanding, intent on buying up properties from 'the failed' companies. 2. As long as Cedar Fair's current management has control, they will never truly understand the potential in marketing towards families. 3. Amusement Parks will not die, for many, many years. Yes, there will be extensive changes in society. But the smart companies will sway like the willow tree, in whichever way the trend grows.

2012
Landscaping? Bleah! Or even better said... In all honesty, I don't too much mind a muddy steel coaster, but a wooden coaster in mud doesn't sound all that appealing.
