  1. ^ Is Coney Island planning on keeping the Kiddie Circle Freeway in storage, along with the Spin-A-Ree? And having the fire truck as a photo opportunity, thats a great idea!
  2. ^ I had thought ride assignment was a very new thing. The more you know!
  3. Rebuild the Cedar Point Cyclone! « The Coaster Blog
  4. We all know KI has a large variety of great family rides. Now, which one is your favorite? I left out AE, BLSC, BBOBH, and the Eiffel Tower.
  5. ^You've got me there! *Goes to post a newer, fresher Pooh*
  6. This park looks awesome! Sort of like a mix between 1970s KI and Magic Kingdom. Now I must ask, which do you prefer, Kings Island or Europa Park?
  7. I had no idea how well themed Europa Park was. Can't wait for more pictures!
  8. Flight of Fear's alien test tubes... a very neat piece of theme to the ride. I'm wondering what exactly these 'aliens' are. I'm guessing dressed up mannequins? I know the outfits these 'aliens' wear have been changed before. Also, does anyone have any good pictures? The RCDB pictures do not show the inside of the tubes. I remember a princess, a reds player, and a Bengals player...
  9. You all talking about Manhattan Express? Here's the
  10. Rust takes over faster than one might expect... I'd say this ride has no more than 10 more years, and thats a stretch. (Unless, of course, Cedar Fair decides to work on removing the rust/ painting.) It does appear the supports have been painted recently.
  11. ^ In relative terms... It is very expensive compared to most places outside of Kings Island. Around 4 bucks for chicken and rice, but the portions aren't all that big. Better than a $3.50 slice of pizza, but still...
  12. If Kings Island needs an awesome idea for a roller coaster, here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-INnUKEe-s&feature=related
  13. How would a single, 3 foot length of trim change the aesthetics of a ride? Just sayin'
  14. Heres the one I was talking about... Cincinnati's Coney Island Here's another Coney Island book. This one published in 1972 with a lot of pictures from closing day and later. (You can check this one out from a library.) Goodbye, Coney Island, Goodbye
  15. It was like that last year... Most people agree this is better, since people tend not to notice things unless they're right in front of them. What happened to the flag pole out front? (I think I remember one... Or was it before my time?)
  16. Does anyone know the third flag? Ohio, the USA, and what else?
  17. Nevertheless, and don't take this the wrong way, I think the flags would look even better in the same place, but closer to the ground... 1.) The Eiffel Tower looks larger when your reference point is smaller. 2.) Right now, the flags cover the view of the water spouts. Water shooting above the flags would be pretty cool looking... Even better with those big bulky fountains out of sight and covered by the much more attractive flags.
  18. What does PR stand for? I feel I should know this.
  19. Yes, the Coney Island book came out over almost 10 years ago, and the mentioned Kings Island and Lesourdesville Lake books never came out. And the Coney Island book is wonderful... Over 230 pages of great descriptions and more than 500 pictures.
  20. 1. The Beast 2. Diamondback 3. Flight of Fear Some days I like The Beast better... Other days, Diamondback. I have not ridden BBOBH, so I suppose its still possible that it might trump some of these.
  21. ^ I have not been to Kings Island yet this year... Is the Planet Snoopy music much different than Nick Universe'?
  22. There's a big difference between 'should' and 'will.' Brandon, just sayin'
  23. "Awesome! Is that The Beast!?" (Showing someone my Pepsi Python phone wallpaper... )
  24. I disagree with most of the people on here... Each of the following is my opinion, so don't take it too seriously. 1.) Vortex will probably not be removed in the next 20 years. Not only does Vortex have an extremely high capacity, but it is one of the most famous rides in the park (People in High School talk about it all the time, more than The Beast, even), it is repainted every few years, and, most of the general public don't find it overly rough. (People who ride Son of Beast expect it to be smooth, like The Beast. People who ride Vortex know what other people have to say about its' roughness... So if they don't want a rough ride, they avoid.) Not to mention the lines generally being at least fifteen minutes long, on days where Diamondback's is a half hour. 2.) Adventure Express... Its a family favorite, and has quite a bit of nostalgia tied to it. Most amusement park companies understand how great nostalgia can be, in getting people to come to their park... Have you heard all that 5@5 'rumbling' about The Antique Car's removal? This management understands that people coming back to an amusement park after ten years on hiatus expect to return to a similar (or better) thing... They want their children to experience what they got to experience, and with their nostalgic impulse not being satisfied, they are much less likely to return again. In addition to this, Adventure Express has one of the top three park capacities, and the land it sits on is rather harsh, so I'll give AE at least 25 years. 3.) Flight Deck. Most any ride that goes over 8 years without a paint job is not much loved by their park. And for the people saying Flight Deck is a great family attraction, I have not once seen a parent suggest a ride on Flight Deck, and I see more small children riding Vortex...
