41st Appalachian Festival at Coney
"Home of the Famous Bologna Sandwich" Yum! My mom's side of the family has owned thousands of acres in this town for a very long time. At one point, President Harding and his crew stopped by our old family house, for an outhouse break... We've been talking about it ever since!

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
The Flying Carpet was the name for the Giant slide, right? For a second I was thinking Kings Island had had a full sized Sally's Sea plane.

Six Flags In-Park Advertisements
I agree with the interpreter right there and wouldn't mind if Cedar Fair were to do the same thing in order to pay back some of their debts. If I owned an amusement park and the park (or in this case, company) was having economic problems, I would do the same thing. That being said, Cedar Fair, PLEASE don't paint the coaster trains bright orange. Anything but THAT.

The Simpsons: Island Queen Mention...?
The Simpsons: Moe Letter Blues 7:30 to 7:53, for most of the 'reference' Ok, it looks nothing like Coney Island's, but I still wonder...

The Simpsons: Island Queen Mention...?
In the Simpson's episode tonight, The Simpsons family boards a ferry to Krusty's Amusement Park. "Warning: you may not be amused." (Quote from the show) Not only does the ferry look very similar to Coney Island's Island Queen, but it has the name "Island Queen" on the side of the boat. The following scene, the ferry crashed into a dock and exploded. The real Island Queen exploded, as well. I guess this doesn't have to be Coney Island's Island Queen, but I don't see how it can't be. I'll post the Hulu video when its posted online.

Brainstorming for a Proposed KINGS COURT Club
There's seriously graffiti in the saucer? It wasn't there last year... Edit- 1,500 posts! Can't believe I've been a member of KICentral for almost 2 years. Time really passes by...

41st Appalachian Festival at Coney
I would of been there if I weren't at my grandparent's house in Waldo, Ohio. Any noticeable changes for this season? Does Pepsi Python's new paint job have the same color scheme?

River Downs Closing?
I wonder how interested Coney will be in running the racetrack (again) if the current owners bail out.

Cedar Fair: The Fun & Only
Not to mention the screams on Diamondback being absolutely identical to screams in RCT2...

River Downs Closing?
Its been over a year since I started this topic, and River Downs has continued to operate normally. The place is always packed during the operating season, anyway... I guess it leads many to believe this claim has just been a publicity stunt all along.

Kings Island New Website
The International Street webcam is up... and in the nick of time! The webcam looks awesome with today being such a windy day. Every shot is different! My question: Would KI be able to put a webcam in BBOBH? It would be neat to get a 'screaming' picture for every car passing by Boocifer.

Ride Rides... In Your Home!?
^ LongliveKingCobra, when I created this poll I was thinking of people choosing kiddie rides or one 'smaller' thing for their house. This forum is really getting like a forum game, whereas its supposed to be a poll, so I have fixed the rules to be slightly 'stricter.' I might change the rules eventually, but for now your choice has to fit inside the building.

Ride Rides... In Your Home!?
I think I'm going to put clifford on my house with some sort of retractable 'crane hider' to cover it up. I'll be able to menace the townspeople from the above!
-
Ride Rides... In Your Home!?
Technically, you have to keep them in a building. Try underground. I guess its still a bit of a stretch... Experience in welding, now that'd be handy!
-
Ride Rides... In Your Home!?
The rules, you have to fit it inside your building, but you may reconfigure your dwelling to fit your choice. (or reconfigure your choice to fit your dwelling, if you know what I mean )

Ride Rides... In Your Home!?
Scenerio/ Poll You won a contest in Kings Island's new game show! For the prize, you may chose to keep ANYTHING from Kings Island/, as long as you can fit it in your home/ apartment/ dwelling. The rules: 1.) The thing you chose must fit inside your building, although you may pay 'out of pocket' for home reconfiguration. This may include wall removal, floor removal, etc. You may not expand the actual dimensions of your building, UNLESS you live in an apartment. (See the rule below.) 2.) If you live in an apartment, you may expand into the room above, the room below, and a room across the hall. (For Free! ) 3.) If the thing cannot fit, you may collect a little part of the whole thing. (Ex. Taking FOF's launch and brakes but nothing else) 4.) Have Fun! And post your decision(s) here!

Flight Deck
I think they told the whole truth and nothing but the truth... I'm just wondering how much the park management knows about the corporation's intentions. Don't quote me here, but I'm under the impression the current park management has asked to paint Flight Deck, and Cedar Fair has rejected...
-
Flight Deck
Flight has been a Kings Island family favorite for 17 years and counting. Even though Kings Island's 5@5 has upheld the ride several times, Flight Deck has not received a decent paint job for over 6 years, even though it shows noticeable signs of rust. (Which is, in fact, getting worse by the year.) Though they did say, How much longer do you believe Flight Deck will remain in operation?

KI Music
^ Yeah, I get what you mean... For these two, the music will wither be too quiet to hear or too loud to pay attention to anything else. One of these songs coming on your IPod can really scatter a conversation. Not to mention, a large number of people don't 'like' this kind of music. At least its not the Black Eyed Peas. I don't hate the Black Eyed Peas, but their songs aren't ambient in any way and seriously don't fit in Kings Island... Just like blasting heavy metal and meditating at the same time.

KI Music
Yes! Maybe add some John Denver and Simon and Garfunkel into the mix.

Red Racer problems
I do agree that many people do want to get on the ride as fast as they can. That being said, I think racing is important to more guests than you may think. As a small child, I remember imagining The Racer as being a real car race, looking at the other car with great determination to win, and great excitement when we're passing the finish line. My parents would have to wake me up from my imaginative 'daze' after the ride was over. As a teenager, my friends and I bet quarters on who will win the race. I cannot recall having been to Kings Island on a day when the cars were not racing, but I'm sure some of my friends would be very disappointed, one of them going as far as not wanting to ride for the rest of the day. Others could care less. (Or, care more. ) I'm sure racing is very important to at least 10% of the park guests... I'm also sure certain ages generally care about the racing part more than others do. (Wether they realize it or not.)

KI Music
This is the place to share any ideas for music in any one of KI's themed areas. I would love it if Coney Mall were to play classic Beatles songs... Maybe 50 of their greatest hits. Edit- Or the new Beatles 'Love' album... (If this is even possible) All of the original songs on the album are improved. The original song 'Lady Madonna' is one of my least favorite Beatles songs... The new version is one of my favorites.

Pavers on International Street
^ Maybe the individual parks have recently received an increase in funding? Its odd how quick the number of park improvements are picking up, seemingly all of the sudden... Or maybe I just didn't pay as much attention before I joined KICentral.
-
Pavers on International Street
I must say that I'm really starting to love Cedar Fair. After the 'flops' immediately upon the takeover, Cedar Fair let the park managers take over and really improve the parks... All the small things. And I must say, even without Diamondback and Firehawk in the mix, the park is improved, and the margin has been increasing rather quickly. Remember the Paramount days when most everything was corporate? Edit- Fixed
