  1. I can ride The Beast and the Voyage all day long. Before Diamondback, all i rode most of the time was The Beast.
  2. I remember at one point: Actor 1: "He's gonna get you!" Actor 2: "He's coming!" Me: "I wish he would get here already!" The big giant statues of werewolves were not startling at all.
  3. While we don't know for sure what all the Eagle will contain as far as theme goes. But I hope it has some type of structure to fly through like on X Flight.. At :40 and :46. Those are definite head choppers there!
  4. That is so stupid. They are in a theme park! Theme parks build to make money. This coaster is going to bring a heck of a lot more guests in than that zipline ever will. Also, if I am not mistaken, the zipline goes right over a couple other Dollywood attractions. Better sue them because those attractions distract from the zipline experience as well. *Facepalm*
  5. CedarPointer, I could just hug you for saying that! It is so true! We don't go around handing out pamphlets saying "Convert to our belief and blah, blah, BS." My biggest annoyance at a park is seeing a couple heavily making out in line. It is a park for families, not a park for making families! You do not have to be 2 seconds from ripping each others clothes off while you are waiting in line. It is worse with the teens it seems. There are far worse things that can be offensive than a shirt that reads "marriage is gay" Hope I don't offen...... ah screw it..... someone will be offended by what I just said. Oh well. **sighs**
  6. Little tidbit for those of you reading this trip report. When Montu opened in 1996, there were crocodiles under the coaster as you dipped out of the station. Then the crocs were removed and alligators were put in. They have been gone since about the time Gwazi opened or a little before.
  7. I rather be riding a B&M than anything... which is why I only ride Diamondback 95% of the time I visit KI. If we had 2 or 3 B&M's I would be in heaven. Speaking of B&M's I get to ride 8 of the best B&M's next week! Not to mention the new kitty on the block.
  8. I am still waiting for a Tilt-A-Whirl over in Coney. I LOVE a great Tilt-A-Whirl... Cedar Point's is the best I have been on so far. Turkey-Whirl is second. I think a Wild Mouse coaster would be a great addition to any area of the park, as well.
  9. The park map has this ride listed as a 4 thrill. I found it to be teetering on 2 - 3 thrill. The anticipation is the worst. I was really let down. Don't get me wrong, the view was great, and it was a pleasant ride. It definitely is not a 4 thrill. I was on the second ride cycle of the day!
  10. All B&M coasters have the pilot coaches.. be it a zero car (Diamondback, Kumba, Mantis) or the first row (Montu, Kraken, Dominator, etc.) Montu has the optional zero car that replaces the front row making one of the trains 7 rows during film shoots. They run a full train in tandem with the train with the camera mount zero car. For off ride footage, they film the full train. On ride footage is taken from the Zero car obviously. Photo from Johnny Upsidedown - http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/events/events10/bc25a.jpg I am sure that is the original intent of the zero car on Alpie. You can see the holes where the camera mount hangs.
  11. They are kind of back in a way...... aren't they the large prints that was used at DA! ?
  12. I was out there the other day and rode Top..... Flight Deck... As I was exiting, I noticed the places where the poles had been CUT off at the ground. Then they filled them in with cement.
  13. The banner goes a long with the theme... "Free Barnstormer Rides" translates to me as "Free airplane rides" to go along with the airplane theme.
  14. The ride cycle is shorter than Skyhawk, however the airtime is better because they do not staple you in at Dollywood. The last 2 times I was there, there was no wait for this ride.
  15. The Dinosaur out front has been on all week. I noticed that the other day... I refreshed the cam and was like " It just moved!"
  16. New video update! So graceful!
  17. I will be there opening weekend as well. Will probably be riding Voyage the most!
  18. I quote the tram driver.... "building something that is going to put Dollywood on the map."
  19. A look at the train in the heartline.... http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt3.26.11/ A look at theming.... http://www.bgtnation.net/2011/03/cheetah-hunt-theming-update.html
  20. http://www.bgtnation.net/2011/03/ride-envelope-testing-begins-on-cheetah.html http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt3.22.11/ "Envelope Testing" has begun... (pull through).
  21. IF........ and that is a BIG "IF" this is indeed for SOB.... It would change it's status from wood to steel. Same with Mean Streak.
  22. Whatever the attraction may be..... I can say for certain there is only ONE new attraction I am itching to ride. Let's just say... I will be seeing spots in July.
  23. So.... Diamondback is not as long as The Beast, But is it larger than The Beast? It is TALLER. not bigger.
