Starting to Decode 2014
Do you mean in general, or right now? Designers build what the parks want. If a park calls B&M up and says, "We want this, this, and this, in an inverted coaster and only have X amount of room, can you do it?" B&M's response would likely be, "Our Batman model fits that description." If a park calls B&M and asks for a stand up, they will build it.

I HIGHLY doubt that. Now if it was an Intamin, I would believe it! *cough*shoot the rapids boat didn't fit*cough*

Hate to say it, but from the blue prints, it does not look record breaking.
-
Starting to Decode 2014
I do not think the blue print is real. How is it that KI is so tight lipped about this coaster, then all of a sudden, a blue print appears?

Do you wear a fanny pack to parks
CARGO'S! Love my cargo's. I stuff everything in my Velcro pockets! Wallet, phone, keys, left over lunch, you name it! Have not lost anything! The one time I left my phone in it's holster was last month at Coney Island, and I rode the Rock-O-Plane. Needless to say, I crushed the phone.

I seen those earth movers out near those sheds the other day. As I mentioned a "few" pages ago, vertical construction on Diamondback started before all the footers were in. I will be happy with a B&M of any kind as long as it is a line mover. I am rooting for a 300+ ft tall B&M giga.

^ Yep! I will not be coming to the announcement! I will be in Florida with 8 B&M's!

Intamin or B&M
I tell you what... crocs are some good strong shoes that will last! Those of you who may work in fast food, ask if you can wear crocs, and buy a pair. They will last you a LOT longer that normal nonskid shoes! Anyway, back on topic: * in cheerleader voice * YaY B&M!

Wild Eagle was produced in Ohio, closer to Kinds Island. Just because Dollywood and KI are getting a new attraction next year does not mean KI will get what is coming out of CSF just because it is in Ohio, closer to Kings Island. Also, a couple of you keep saying "CSW." I am trying to figure out what CSW is? Last time I drove by (7-30-13) it was still CSF, not CSW.

Intamin or B&M
I voted B&M. Let's face it, reliability is key. B&M builds very reliable rides. Not to forget, they make cross over trains! Last I heard the Psyclone trains are ran backward on Colossus during their haunt season.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is a dive loop essentially equivalent to half of Vortex's batwing, or am I thinking of a different element? Yes, you are correct. The first inversion of the batwing is basically what a dive loop is.

Starting to Decode 2014
Oziris first inversion is a dive loop.

um where is the 8th? Cobra roll is 2 I see the immelman now.... I still love my Montu it is my number 1 inverted! Makes my knees weak. My number 1 steel is Kumba! Kumba makes me tingle all over.

Starting to Decode 2014
Out of the 30 B&M inverted roller coasters, only one has 7 inversions. That would be the amazing Montu. IF this coaster holds the world record for most inversion on an inverted roller coaster, it will have to at least have 8 in order to beat Montu!

The new B&M parts are the transfer mechanism for an inverted roller coaster.

Sorry, Cody, my posts aren't meant to irk people. I have a tendency to multiquote, because I see a lot of posts I want to respond to. It's hard to "hear" the inflection in my voice, but I'm not really pouncing on people. I just tend to challenge what people say - not because I'm trying to irk them, but because I question the reasoning they use as the basis for their posts. By no means am I saying they aren't permitted to express their opinions. I'm just probing the basis for it, that's all. Welcome to KIC! And I assume you've heard the saying "There's a first time for everything "....? If the only reason you assume the new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions is because no other coaster in Ohio has more than 6, then let me take you back to 1987 when Vortex opened, and no other park in the world at that time had a coaster with 6 inversions. Your logic doesn't make sense. They could have put a final inversion on Gatekeeper and didn't.... My logic makes perfect sense. Vortex - 6 Raptor - 6 Gatekeeper - 6 How come they have not added a 7th inversion to any Ohio coasters after all of these years? It can certainly be done. Look at these examples: Kumba - 7 Hulk - 7 Kraken - 7 Dragon Khan - 8 Your logic goes like this: No park in Ohio has built a coaster with more than 6 inversions, therefore this new coaster won't have more than 6 inversions. That's not sound reasoning for why this new coaster couldn't have more than 6 inversions. As I said, there's a first time for everything. I also said that "I PREDICT" I posted past factual evidence to support my prediction for the number of inversions on this new coaster. Is it not reasonable to think that I may be correct based on what is already here? No one knows what this coaster is going to be. Based on footers on site, some think it will be for a Inverted. AS you said, there is a first time for everything. Since it is on the side of a hill, would it be possible to need double footers?

I can't imagine what other kind of "world record breaking" attraction it would be to warrant such an announcement. You lose hope in humanity because not everyone pays as much attention to what the park's building the way coaster enthusiasts do...?? The article in the Dayton Daily News showed a photo of a broken comb. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/kings-island-to-unveil-new-attraction/nY8zm/ I wonder if that is relevant in some way...? I don't get it...what was the point of that video? I imagine each park is individually maintained by its own maintenance department - not specifically by Cedar Fair. How Cedar Point handles their maintenance issues is unrelated to how Kings Island handles theirs. Chances are you're only saying that to be negative and rain on everyone's parades. You and Young Stud are truly a pair. No, I am not saying that to be negative, but face the facts.... How many coasters in Ohio, NEW and old invert more than 6 times?

If KI's 2014 project is as good as Kumba, then I will be happy! LOVE KUMBA! Actually, Kumba's roar is LOUDER than Mantis.
-
Starting to Decode 2014
Sorry but I predict that if this has inversions, the number will be 6 or less.
-
Starting to Decode 2014
I really do not want an inverted coaster. Cedar Fair can not take care of Raptor properly, why would this be any better. When the trains are traveling in and out of the station, it sounds terrible. NO OTHER B&M sounds like that. I was able to ride Batman in Chicago forward and backward. As you know this is the first installation of the B&M inverted roller coaster. It sounds no where near as bad as Raptor, a newer inverted coaster. Raptor literally sounds like it is falling apart.
-
Starting to Decode 2014
Vortex - 6 Raptor - 6 Gatekeeper - 6 I do not think we will see a coaster with the most inversions in Ohio.

Drove past CSF a few moments ago.... It appears that the flatbed trailer with blue supports are still out front. Inside, I noticed what appeared to be LARGE supports. Probably about the size of Diamondback or Leviathan's tallest, in terms of thickness. I did not take photos as I just drove past and got a glance. The doors were open and people were still working at around 6:30pm when I passed by.

This guy is so full of it! He basically said that it is not likely that KI will get an Inverted because of Raptor, but said a Stand up is possible. @ Wolfpack = Banshee @ "Wooden coasters don't have footers"
