If there is on thing KI needs right now is a GREAT woodie. GCI please!
  2. I don't understand how you think you can get back into preferred parking without a re-entry receipt? It is just like re-entering through the main gates, you must have a handstamp no matter what you used to get in earlier. Anyone can go and buy preferred parking and take the receipt to their friends to get into the parking area for free. This isn't bizarre at all, you are just on the other end of the rope and don't understand the concept like the rule makers do.

Flight Deck, last row really pulls you over that first hill. Then gravity takes over from there. The whole ride is full of great forces, the ride is just too quick for people to think about it. One of my favorite spiels the crew says "Enjoy your ride on Flight Deck, brought to you by gravity. We discover it, you experience it." Or something along those lines.
  4. I was just browsing the Cedar Point website for my upcoming trip next week and noticed some cool information on their pages of all of their coasters. They have a column called Ridership which shows the amount of rides given in any given year since it opened. I thought this was pretty cool and really wish Kings Island would add this to their websites. I also noticed something strange about the numbers and wondered if anyone here could give me their two cents. Here is an example of one of the coaster pages. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/ride...aptor/index.cfm If you scroll down you can see the Ridership column. Here is what I noticed. On all of the coasters, the year of 2007 has a much noticeable decrease in riders than the previous years and then in 2008 the number seems to rise back up. For example, Raptor shows 2006: 1,645,189 and then 2007: 1,421,255. And then in 2008: 1,609,503. Did something happen that I am unaware of in 2007 that caused this? It seems to be the same effect on all of the coasters. Well if there is something that is very obvious that I don't know, shame on me, but I thought this was a cool feature to have on the website and thought it would be fun to share to those of you who have not seen this yet.

You guys are so lucky you have the chance to work the Haunt. I was considering doing night shifts Haunt and day shifts where I'm at in the park now but they need me where I'm at so I think I'll stay there all year. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys because on Fridays when the gates open they put down the metal gates at the turnstiles and all the roamers and other actors go out there and when they open the park they open the metal gates and they all go running towards the metal detectors. I hope I'll be at turnstiles a lot during the Haunt!
  6. On one of my first rides in row 16 I turned around during the splashdown and got it right in the forehead! It was like late March so the water was freezing!
  7. That is awesome that you had such an awesome day even though it was packed. I am disappointed to hear that Red Racer is tied with the almighty Flight Deck! lol It should be first place in IMO. I just got my 90th ride this year on Flight Deck on Friday! The purple wrist band can do glorious things!
  8. You should be happy Kings Island is making all of this money and staying open for you. Besides, why would you go on a Saturday when it's open until midnight?
  9. I only ride rides right when the park opens on Friday nights then it starts to get a little more crowded and I go to the Haunt attractions. Sundays were so fun to work during the Haunt because the park would be so empty and the guests would be happy with no lines and everyone was pretty relaxed.
  10. Since Coastersims went bye bye I found Coastercrazy.com and is very much like coastersims. That's where I posted my first coaster, Timberwolf! Nolimits is the best though, I love being able to download others coasters and learning from them.

I thought Carnevil was my favorite! I hate clowns and the clwns makeup and stuff with the 3D glasses made it cool. The room with the dots where the guys were like invisible against the walls was also cool. The scariest part to me was the evil looking clowns whether it was just pictures our actual people in maks they scared me. I thought it was pretty fun. My least favorite was the one where you had to ride the train back to get in line (don't remember the name). It was very obvious where everyone was hiding (behind the crates right in the view of the guest) and wasn't very scary.

It's called LockOUT not LockDOWN. Sorry, bugging me.

I might try and do day shifts where I'm at now and night shifts in the Haunt. I know people who did that last year. It looks like it would be very very fun.
  14. In line for Diamondback, "Yeah they got that Canadian's Wonderland". I just thought it was a little funny.
  15. Welcome! Don't feel bad, I always said that me and my mom's friend were going to play on one of those big electrical power station things on the side of the road. I always pictured us playing on it like a jungle gym and though I know it would never happen I always thought of it. Well I hope you enjoy the site!
  16. ^Maybe they were on the same train.
  17. http://www.kingsislandinsider.blogspot.com/ A jubilant Darlene Bell (front seat, left) takes her 500th ride on Kings Island's Diamondback roller coaster here, accompanied by a rides associate, Bryan Miller. The Dayton, Ohio native has visited Kings Island 28 times this season, averaging 18 rides per day on the park's new $22 million steel coaster. Lucky Bryan got to ride with her.
  18. 1. Flight Deck
  19. Since everyone was answered all of your other questions pretty good I will just answer your Crypt question. The Crypt at Kings Island is just like the one at Kings Dominion in this video except for a couple of differences. Instead of 2 rows facing different directions they are both facing the same direction. Also don't expect the free spinning flips that you see here, the flips that you get on our Crypt is where they lock the place where you sit in one place then the huge arms on each side turn you so you flip. Also the Crypt at Kings Island is indoors and used to have fabulous theming but now has almost nothing. Hope that helps.
  20. ^You would probably break a few ribs. Those otsr's are what keep you in one place during the ride.
  21. Sorry, my heart belongs to Flight Deck. Added 9 more rides to my count tonight!
  22. Great thread! Here's a couple of mine. During Haunt last year.
  23. ^hahahaha I used to live in Mason and pass that almost every day. Maybe that is why SOB is closed, he is going to walk from the structure to another ride that is always closed....The Crypt!
  24. Was Fabio there?
  25. ^I think it is like an automated attached signature that goes on every post. Or I could be completely wrong...
