CP 9/5-7
It may not be of paramount importance but it is an issue of FUN. (phantomtheater who could not resist) There is nothing like the first trip to CP at 48" when you can finally ride the "big" coasters. This time BS and CCMR, maybe next time Gemini and Corkscrew. I will let you go with him next time, my DH wont ride any coasters and I am not into doing tons of coasters in one day....I got sick after ID and WC back to back....

CP 9/5-7
Last visit was Father's Day and eldest DS was just 1/4 inch less for the 48 inch rides. This time, he was about 1/2 inch over the top. We spent about 30 mins in the park Saturday night after traveling there...and the kids got to ride about 4 things in that time. Saturday morning we spent again the kids area. That evening I took my eldest to Mine Ride, since he had a fit on Father's Day about not being tall enough. He loved it...and did more stuff in the kids areas. Sunday morning - lots more in the kids areas for the younger two kids and DH. DS1 and myself spent the morning with Iron Dragon and Wildcat, for his first ride on WC. He loved it. Then we met up with DH and his brothers and did a bit of shopping. After shopping we went to Blue Streak for DS1's first ever ride on it. I let him choose where we sat and he went to the back of the train. He loved it. We spent the evening in the kids areas for a huge part of the time, and then DS1 and took a little together time and went back to Mine Ride. He decided to ride in the back car again and loved it. We then stopped and fed the fish and got a glass of water before meeting up with the rest of our group. Then we went to Midway Market for dinner. Unfortunately the park emptied really fast at this point because thunder started and spit rain. The Midway Market was great..and prices were low ($11.85 per adult and $7.85 per child).

Planet Snoopy (bringing your children?) in 2010.
I am seriously thinking of turning you in to The Department of Children and Family Services. In Ohio that is Department of Job and Family Services, Children's Services Division

Planet Snoopy (bringing your children?) in 2010.
Will still be going, but it sort of takes the specialness out of our trips to Cedar Point - meeting the Snoopy Characters. Whereas the Kids always see the Nick/Scooby at KI, Cedar Point is cool because it is different. I am afraid that we wont do CP as much, because the kids will be bored of Snoopy and not have anything different or special.

2009 Season Pass Renewal Sale!
When I went about 6 years ago and it was a separate admission, when you entered the park with your Haunt ticket, you were given a wrist band to signify that you were part of Haunt. You couldn't ride anything until 7, even though they were finishing up the riders from non haunt time.

Cedar Point on Sunday
Considering there is a 30% chance of rain? I am not sure, I can say that the kids areas will be fairly empty in the morning and evening, and slightly busy during the afternoon based upon my few experiences up there on Sundays.

2009 Season Pass Renewal Sale!
I remember when Haunt was a paying attraction, and the lines were horrible then. I still waited an hour for some of the haunts, specially when they had the Mummy one back in the kids area, I believe you entered in the doors of the building by Little Bills. I remember waiting in line with friends for about an hour. I remember waiting for an hour for the maze that was through the field back by Flight of Fear and Firehawk. I remember waiting in line for about an hour for the haunted house in the building under or close to The Racer in the same area as Flight of Fear and Firehawk. I remember waiting forever in line to go through the clown haunted house when it was in Festhause. I can only remember the line for one ride, and that was Drop Zone, and we got on it right at open, and was like 15-20 mins. After that ride longs became long... I believe the costs were like $25 regular admission and season pass admission being about $18. You could also get discount coupons at like Wendy's and Speedway. I know this was a while ago, because the last time I went to haunt was in 2003. As for this year, I thought Haunt was only included in gold and platinum passes, not the regular season pass.

SOB: Vortex: Nick
If you read the post, the family was told this by the Cashier in Nick U shop, when they were checking out. I don't necessarily believe any of it myself, but since it was employees saying it...figured I would post it...and hence the reason I put it in rumors to begin with.

SOB: Vortex: Nick
Ok, so I was browsing 937moms.com and ran across this.... (Reason I am posting it in rumors is that I don't know the truth of any statements, so if this is the wrong place please move it)... http://937moms.com/forums.html?func=view&a...30&id=25082 No More SOB; No More Nick Vortex is sinking, being torn down and rebuilt... per a guest who was told by a park employee in Nick shop.

If you were a parent of a 6 yo and 4 yo riding Sponge Bob
I think instead of "illegal" or "legal" I should have said violates ride op rules.....

If you were a parent of a 6 yo and 4 yo riding Sponge Bob
It was not the action theater, it is the kids version of drop zone thing - Plankton's Plunge. I told the girl no, I wanted to ride with them and she really didn't look that happy when I said it. We let two kids a bit further back go in front of us (there were two or three groups of three right in a row). I was going to mention it to the ride op sup when we were at Rugrats (which was where my 6 yo wanted to go to next) but the ride op who said that to us was standing right there. I think the girl's name was Katie or Kathy or something like that. My kids are on the top of the charts for height. My oldest was riding Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport last year and they both have a 46 inch height requirement. He rode Adventure Express this year and that has a 48 inch height requirement. He has been riding Little Bills since he was 18 months old. He has been riding Fairly Odd Coaster since he was about 3 and has been riding Rugrats since 4 1/2. They are taking after my Hubby's side of the family who are all over 6 feet tall, including some of the women.

If you were a parent of a 6 yo and 4 yo riding Sponge Bob
We were in line a few weeks ago. There were two open seats not the three I needed (one child is under height requirements and needs an adult). The Ride Op looked at me and told me I didn't need to ride with them that the lady sitting on the side with the two open seats could be their "chaperon". This lady did not know me or my kids. The ride op never asked this lady. I was 100% not comfortable with this for many reasons. But my question is is doing something like that "legal". I mean the ride clearly states under 46 inches must be accompanied. But to just dump a child on an adult without speaking with them. What if something would have happened. To me that seems like asking for disaster if something should happen to that child on that ride for the park and the ride op.

Other route to get to CP (than using 6)
We followed the detour signs and it had us gong to some town and back to 20, left turn about 1 block and left turn and follow that to 101 and not sure where it went after that as DH got his phone's GPS unit working again and we followed the directions from that. I think the detour signs had you going to 269 as we stayed on 101 and came out about 5 miles from the exit we wanted. Thanks.

No, it is after Freemont somewhere on the last 17 miles of 6....right around where 6 and the Ohio Turn pike cross paths if I remember correctly...

Other route to get to CP (than using 6)
We just got back from CP, but our trip had an almost extra hour of drive time due to a bridge being out on 6 and having to do a long re-route through lots of back roads. Are there any other routes that will keep the trip to about 3 ish hours? The detour route is a bit long on the kids and therefor on parental nerves.

Family Outraged After Quadriplegic Marine Denied Free Admission to Michigan Amusement Park
The first thing that came to my mind when I read this was Dollywood. I remember reading an article several years ago about Dollywood charging a discounted fee or free entrance for disabled. They were sued and totally gave it up as a result. http://overlawyered.com/2003/11/dollywood-...bled-discounts/ (Sorry all other news links are disabled at this point.)

Holy Ruined Ride, Batman!
My 6 yo is terrified of this ride because it is so dark. Maybe on our next visit with the lights on he will try it again..

SOB riders
I think Flight of Fear is worse than SOB ever was (even with the loop). I rode FOF after they removed the sides that hold your head in place. My head slipped off the back of the seat and to the side during a nasty jolting section of the ride and I whacked the side of head and thought I was going to break my neck from it. Did I complain and try to get the ride shut down -- no, I just opted to never ride it again. I applaud them for having the coaster checked for safety to make sure that it is safe, but I hope they return it to operation for those who like it. I have 3 kids now and rarely get to ride rides for myself so have not ridden it since the loop was removed.

Worlds of Fun Announces Prowler
I used to work at WOF and OOF. I want to go back now and ride this. I really dise like the fact they took out the Zambizi Zinger....I used to work in the Africa section in the main store there.

New Restaurant at KI and more!
I am trying to think here, but there are I believe two restroom facilities in the area of Nick. There is the close to where the Wild River Adventure is, which I believe is the one you are talking about that has the kids side to it. There is also two bathrooms inside the Baby Care Place, which gives you air conditioning. It is also great for kids, because they have step stools for the kids to use to pee with. Although I think if you just randomly showed up to use this one without a kid in tow, you might be asked to leave....

Directions to CP
Sorry about not putting where we are coming from... We live in Dayton. I didn't know if there was a better or faster way than taking 75 to 80/90 turnpike. I have read a previous thread about what to ride and when, but again, we are mostly taking our kids up and might hit an adult ride or two (I love coasters). We have Platinum passes (4 of them).

Directions to CP
Does anyone have better directions than those given on mapquest (taking 75 to toledo/ohio turn pike)? We are planning on staying at the Microtel Inn and Suites. We will be at CP for 1 full day 1 1/2 day and 1 3/4 day. Mostly going for our two young children 5 and 3, also with a 9 month old. I read a previous thread suggesting we go and enter in through the marina/hotel breakers entrance. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

Cedar Point forum?
Is there a Cedar Point forum like this one? I thought I had seen one posted before, but have searched and couldn't find one. Thanks,

AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!
Take your souvenier cup with you and have them fill it with water for you for free. We do that all the time.

Misplaced Gold Pass?
We had that happen this year as well. Someone stole our diaper bag with our passes in it. We went to get them replaced and they could not find my husband. If your friend has proof of his purchase (ie credit card slip, check that has cleared, etc") they will work with him. Also, instead of looking him up by name, if he filled out the paper when he had his picture made, they can look him up via phone, address, etc. Also, if he just used his picture from previous year this year, if he has his old pass they can look him up that way as well.
