Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
A roller coaster is broken into block sections which functions as a safety mechanism. These block brakes begin and end a block section. If a train were still in the section after the block brakes and another train were incoming, the block brakes would stop the incoming train until the first train passed to the next section.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
I saw a coaster show not too long ago where they showed them using a G-force dummy on Millennium Force. I vaguely remember them saying that it needed to be done once a year. I would assume that since Diamondback is a new ride, they will use the same type of dummy for it at least once. You can bet they will. Even though B&M's rides are calculated, calculated, and calculated again, real world readings are needed of the gravitational forces the ride exerts.

It may be your connection speed. Perhaps higher speed internet users have more opportunities to access it. I'm not too fast so I get it once and awhile.

Feb. 21st WEBCAM trip report
Hah! Great TR J.D. That weather is a killer. It hit my hometown fairly hard and slowed me down. But I guess it wasn't meant to be for both of us.

PTR: Winter Blues Diamondback Tour
Great photos Ronny and Jesse! It was great to see all of you at Jungle Jim's. I still can't believe the odds. Very sorry I didn't get to do anything KIC-related that day. It looks like you all had fun.

Test Dummy Ready for First Ride on Diamondback
According to my science class, people have fallen out of Son of Beast, Drop Zone, TRTR, IJST, and The Beast. Also, the reason for the bars at the top of the Eiffel Tower is because people kept jumping off. And, best of all, "Saddleback" is "500 feet tall", "200mph", and built by "Balderdash & Mallard". ... Misinformed people drive me nuts. You know, those kind of people who will say anything to make others think they know what they're talking about.

^ As do I. That drives me nuts. Also when people add "The" before every name. THE Son of The Beast. Arg! THE Top Gun. ...I should stop, I'm upsetting myself.

First visit - First week of June
First, welcome to the forums! Absolutely the weekday. The weekends around this time are usually pretty well packed. If you can get to the park on the third, which is a Wednesday, or the fourth, you should be golden. Kings Island is definitely a completely different experience from Cedar Point, it isn't better, nor is it worse. It's just different. I hope you have fun!

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Thanks for your sympathy. It kind of sucked, but we made a good day out of it. We went to Jungle Jim's and ended up meeting the KIC group there. What are the odds!? That truly was nice to see you there. In case I neglected to introduce myself, I was wearing the Ohio State hooded sweatshirt. Too bad you missed the tour, though. Yeah, I think I made the connection. You were an inch or two taller than me, right? It was sad to miss the tour but I'm okay. I really enjoyed myself with Ksings just driving and exploring Jungle Jim's.

Few Questions...
Hi! First of all, welcome to the forums! 1. I'm not sure. 2. No, there is no (legal) way for the general public to access the 50 ft. deck of Eiffel Tower. I haven't heard of a tour to the 50 ft. deck. So to my knowledge, no to everything. 3. Unfortunately, no. The International Restaurant isn't open to the public. But yes, it is open to private events and parties. 4. Opinion: No way. Logic: Doubtful. With the addition of Diamondback, Vortex is one of three signature steel coasters in the park. Flight Deck qualifies, but it doesn't exactly put KI on the map. Also, dismantling a ride takes money. Money that I'm sure would be more than the current operating expense of the ride. Vortex is in fine condition. Expect to see many more years of it. 5. The steps are used relatively regularly by employees. The most recent event that comes to mind is the Rick Wallenda walk.

I think I'll go with that one too. Thank you! I figured it was time to be more Kings Island-y, and creative.
