How long would you wait to ride your favorite roller coaster?
^^Well...Behemoth's lift motor burned out only 3 weeks into operation and was down for a week, but I think we'll be ok!

Except that Behemoth is potentially the best steel ever built....but it's not like we won't be getting something very comparable very soon and a lot closer! Oh yeah, you'll also miss out on Canadian gold...Bounty Bars, of course!!

Weirdest thing to happen to you on a ride?
Man, I'm trying to think....I haven't really ever had anything creepy happen to me at any park before (and I usually look out for things like that!), expect that I am utterly mind-boggled about all the stuff that flies off of people on El Toro...on virtually every ride I've ever had I've seen shirts and hats and whatever else fly off, and I just can't comprehend how ET continues to run with all the crap that's out there?! But as long as it continues to, I don't worry about it!

Really good trip report, and I'm glad you got to make it out to CP again and the weather looked pretty good too!! (although maybe a little hot) So for a Saturday how busy did it seem to you? Based on your ride count I'd say it looked busy (Saturday, right?! ), but definitely nothing outrageous which is good! Oh also, for Wicked Twister, you should try the 2nd to the last row in the back and on the right/outside seat (park side); on the highest backward up shot you get a completely unobstructed view looking down to the ground!! But anyway, good to hear even your dad had a really great time!

What will they do?
^^It will go on the mantel at Kinzel's mansion!!

Some Questions
^^Heck, if you want, stay at my friend's apartment down the road at the Falls!! For a modest fee of a couple of $20's you'll be within walking distance from KI and all of D-back's glory!! I don't think she would mind?!...

Some Questions
First rides that are auctioned have gone for thousands of dollars. True...but I was only factoring in charity first ride bids for 07 and 08 rides (such Maverick and Behemoth) AND considering a spring 09 economy and not the economy of the early 2000's for things like Millennium Force or SOB...

Miley Cyrus to Hold Sweet 16 Fundraiser Birthday Bash at Disneyland
^^The bottom line, you go to CP, MM, or GAdv for coasters, and Disney for "attractions" like dark rides...

"She loves roller coasters"....what's Disneyland have that's a real roller coaster?! Maybe she'll head over to DCA (or even some real-life RCT Kinzel creation down the street! )

Best New Ride of 2008
No contest...Behemoth!!! Best B&M hyper ever, and my fear is that D-back won't beat it next year, but I'm still holding out hope... Otherwise, Fahrenheit was VERY disappointing to say the least!! Steel Hawg I haven't been on yet (sad considering I live in Indianapolis), but that's not going to contend anyway. Then you have the woodies Ravine Flyer II and Evel Knevel, which I have been on and are very solid, but again not contending. I haven't been to HRP yet, but have heard Led Zeppelin's nothing special...that's pretty much it for anything legitimately new. I've heard great things about T-Express in South Korea (which I hope to maybe get to in 09), but my hunch is despite the length and maybe more air that El Toro's bigger size and faster pacing still makes it better. So I absolutely expect to see the Golden Ticket Award banner for Best New Ride for 2008 plastered on the front of Behemoth's station (like with Maverick last year) when I travel back up north again later this fall!!

Labor Day Weekend
Well, but the MCBR is still used!! In 06, I flew down that triple-down, and frankly, I would've taken that airtime over anything El Toro can give!! But now?? Well...ummm...you completely slow down before the triple-down and get maybe one ok pop of good air....BOOOOO!!!!!

What is the Worst Ride You Have Ever Ridden?
Let's put it this way, Terpy, of all my GAdv visits...GASM has been ridden by me...ONCE!! Vortex is a legitimate Posturepedic bed by comparison!! And not to be a Jerry Seinfeld, but "What's the deal with GASM's on-ride photos?? I already broke my neck riding it, and now I gotta break it again looking at my pic!!" Off topic, why did SF do away with those awesome photo scan cards from last year?? Too many people just getting them scanned and not buying like me!

What a difference 3 years-and new ownership-makes
^^Sweet!! So when does KI get Maverick!?

Labor Day Weekend
^^As in Saturday, September 2nd of Labor Day weekend 2006?? Because actually...I was there that day and thanks to the cool temps, drizzle, and periodic light rain throughout much of the day (though the evening got better), it wasn't that busy at all!! Longest wait of the day for me was 1 hour for BLSC. (thankfully CF's insane rain ride operations policy was not in effect yet!) Now I believe both Sunday and Monday of that weekend had gorgeous weather....at least that's how it was for me at Holiday World those days when I was able to ride The Voyage in all it's unbridled glory sans trims or MCBR (yet another great ride sadly wrecked!! )

What a difference 3 years-and new ownership-makes
^^But for the record, Terpy, no rides ever got relocated, correct?? Wasn't the closest thing being FOF at KI and KD planned to move to CW and Carowinds for the 07 season with early prep work for those removals just about to begin as the Cedar Fair ink dried??

Riding Problems
IMHO...you gotta take your time and take it step by step...rushing into rides will make things WORSE from my experience. There's really nothing else you can do...it's a process, starting from small rides to bigger rides. Usually somewhere along the way there might a "ah-ha!" moment when he takes on something scary and then loves it (like in my experience many people do after after their first Delirium or Slingshot ride and discover they're not bad at all and pure fun!!), but otherwise, progress from one ride to the next. Has he done BLSC yet?? Also, what about AE? Those are obviously pretty tame...other than that, I'd say the next coaster for him to move up to is The Beast...the drop is slow and trimmed and not very high, and tell him he can close his eyes if he wants (plus, a lot of The Beast is "hidden" from view anyway). Try to tell him The Beast isn't that much bigger than Racer and try riding in a very pedestrian middle train seat. But The Beast is your best bet for the next step in coasters at KI. And btw, at this rate, you're not even in this decade for him getting on Diamondback!! D-back without question will be KI's most intense coaster, and the lift hill climb will also be pretty intimdating if you've never been on a B&M hyper. I think for him KI's coaster prgression would be: Beast FOF (no hill, get him used to loops) Vortex/SOB Invertigo/Firehawk Alright...I've sufficiently burned enough time to 5:00 pm to leave the office for the day!! Yeah!!

Diamondback Station/Queue Art?
^^You would hope!!! But with CF nothing is guaranteed....starting with the directions that coaster trains will go!
