Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
^^Obviously none of you guys tracked the Behemoth progression from last year!! Stats, heights, angle degrees were changing more than the Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks!!...or Brett Favre's retirement decision, or the Reds line-up this year! I think you get what I'm saying. Oh, and because nothing changed with Maverick either!

New Roller Coaster Requirements
I was actually just kidding...Cedar Point's kid footwear policy is one of the funniest things I've ever read!!

Your top 5 rides at KI?
That or motion sickness. I power rode maXair at CP a few weeks ago, and the next day at work was very rough as I felt very disoriented, like I had a hangover, but didn't drink at all!! I took this stuff Bonine that worked really well!

Can't these parents just strap on some platform shoes and be done with it?! I don't know why this is so difficult?? It's not like CF has verbiage prohibiting footwear shenanigans!!

Your top 5 rides at KI?
^^Agreed, but some dramamine might be needed after power riding De-lir...

Like I said, early work seems encouraging...enough not to bother with angles for now. Now the "193 foot 2nd drop"...I still need more convincing. If you look at the artwork, that support column currently up by The Crypt that seems so high has TWO other supports higher than it!! I still need more proof with this one...

fearfest weather
^^Not to get old school, but some of those Fear Fests on cold, dreary, and drizzley nights in 2005 seemed pretty busy!!

^^Not soooo fast.... I still think that 3rd airtime hill will be using the trim A LOT, and I don't think the hammerhead will come close to the intensity or airtime of Behemoth's, AND I think both helices won't be the most forceful either like a Nitro...but I think it will make up in other areas!

This might be wrong to say...but D-back is looking darn sexy!!! I still love my Behemoth, but this layout is starting to blow Behemy away now!

boomerang bay
I was kinda hoping when Kinzel closed Geauga Lake Wildwater Kingdom that those slides could then be added to BB!!

^^And yet, the Behemoth queue has nuthin'!! Well, except for my precious (yet over-priced) Vitamin Water machines...even the shade tarps were flimsy at best!!

You might be a KI addict if you...
Just to clarify, you did forget the * that excludes Power Tower and Drop Tower from that mission statement, right? But I love the 'Going full Force' to CP in your sig!!

^^But 215' is a little on the short side compared to some others... Although, that thinking could go out the window given Maverick's drop from the back seat could be my favorite ever at a mere 95 feet!!

Cedar Point TR 9/19 & 9/20
Yep!! 'Tis true...after living down the road from KI for 2 years and slowly starting to make headway into traveling to other close parks during that time, I finally made my first big trip as a burgeoning enthusiast to Great Adventure at the beginning of the 2007 season for my first ever SFGA trip!! And wow, Wow, WOW!!! What a park, and what a trip! My first ever rides on a B&M hyper and Intamin woodie were just too incredible for words, and I also loved Medusa and really dug KK as well and rode it a ton, especially since prior to 07 I had only been on TTD about 5 times. The weather was perfect, and even my girlfriend who took tons of convincing to go even liked it, and it was just the most fun I've ever had in one day!! AND when I felt I really became a "true" enthusiast! (Because you really cannot be one unless you've traveled to different parks, at least in my opinion) Of course, a year and a half, 150+ coasters, and 20-something parks later, yeah...I'm pretty much your typical jaded enthusi-a$$ who hates lines, dislikes the GP simpleton's, and misses the innocence of going to park and taking it at a leisurely pace by picking things on a park map to ride, or seeing things that looked cool and then riding it, taking in the "charm", etc. That's not to say I won't have a blast riding Diamondback the 200+ times I've calculated I should be able to ride it next year (if not more!). But it is to say the enthusi-a$$ part me of is convinced that unless the drop is at least 74 degrees, it's an over-engineered B&M POS that won't be fun...which is not really rational thinking! So that visit was a big deal for me!! (Good thing I guess I went during the Shaprio Era when by all accounts most Six Flags were dumpy and poorly operated under Burke and Co.)

November 1st
The last day of operation is usually a crowded day, I would count on it again this year as well. Sunday, November 7th, 2005 wasn't very crowded at all!!! Edit: And the weather was great that day! High 60's and mostly sunny.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
^^Yes!! The 74 degree angle can at least partially start to be gauged!!

Indoor Waterpark in foreclosure?
^^Or maybe Chicago and Twin Cities were better markets!!

Cedar Point TR 9/19 & 9/20
^^But if the Colts can't win in it, then who cares?! I have good season tickets and honestly, going is a little depressing now thinking that our new crib is jinxed....Super Bowl or not!! I saw the Dome finally deflated today...a sad sight to see considering THAT is where I witnessed the 3rd best day in my life (behind the Super Bowl win and my first visit to SF Great Adventure), beating the Patriots in the AFC Championship game!! Now, we're stuck with 'The Barn that Peyton built'!!
-
Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
I'm still not holding my breathe on 74 degrees...only until RailRider's protractor confirmation will I be fully convinced!!
-
Cedar Point TR 9/19 & 9/20
^^Yeah, you should have skipped the Colts game...The Barn sucks for them right now!!
