What are your opening day plans?
Yeah, I don't think a count-clicker will be needed for opening day by any means...having said that, I am optimistic about how many rides most people should get.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
^^Actually, it doesn't as the prevailing notion was there were TWO exits.... So...if that has been changed (as per ol' Joey), once again, Tiggy is right!!!! Not that I'm gloating!

2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
^^My main beef with D-back on the map is the 2nd drop isn't close to "scale" and dwarfed by the 1st drop (not so true in real life), and the supports for the first drop are way out of place too!! I mean, over the midway?? Ummm...NO!! Haha...

^^So did she say yes??

Indianapolis PTR
^^Except when the roof is open at Lucas Oil people complain about either being too hot or too cold!! Also, Indyman, those canal fire pics are crazy!! That's just a wowza!! Anyway, I got to go back through and check out your PTR, and it was pretty good!! I have mixed feelings on Indy to be honest...yes, it's small, but for me, as a world traveler, it always feels good to be back after traveling to other different states and cities out there.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
So what peeps got the privilege of actually riding it when you were there??
-
Indianapolis PTR
They only blocked off about a hundred foot or so on the E. side of the canal. Did you hear on the news this morning. They said it was arson. What a shame!! Not a surprise, unfortunately...probably some sort of financial dilemma, only made worse by committing a felony!! Good thing most bad guys get caught, but not always.

^^Was the canal affected much by the fires?? In terms of being able to fully walk it?

2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
Yeah, there was a big thread on this that got deleted....and while many got a kick out of the "Line Tip", it is actually probably good advice. Although, I personally don't think the morning wait will be significantly longer than at any other time, but it is true that morning lines for things like Firehawk, Delirium, and Invertigo should be opportunistically short!!

What are your opening day plans?
^^I gotta be honest...no matter how hard core I may become, I'm refusing to get one of those things!!

Was It Something I Said?
'Tis true...but at least the cat (snake?) will already be publicly out of the bag...and the reviews will fill in the big question marks. No 'interpreting' will be needed then!!

Was It Something I Said?
Well, when Dane is done with the server maintenance we can test this out by re-posting the link or at least talk about it again!! Either way, a.) who cares, in 32 days everyone will have been on it anyway, and b.) the news isn't shocking...Canada's Wonderland employees rode Behemoth a full two weeks before their Season Pass Preview Night, which in itself was two weeks before CW opened for the season. This is not different than any other job or company.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
This seems similar to Behemoth, but could potentially be more!! I know every drop on Behemoth I got great air, including the hammerhead, which I've never really gotten air from the hammerhead on any other B&M hyper before...so that will be the first big D-back test!! (gee, I wish someone could attest to this already??...nevermind, move along people!! ) In all seriousness, I count 8 drops/air opportunities on Behemoth (incld hammerhead), while D-back has 9, with two drops being much taller/better...so the outlook looks good!! All that said, I'd still take the quick air kill-shots on S:ROS and El Toro over a B&M any day, but I like things a little rough!!

Holiday World Announces World's Tallest Water Ride for 2009!
^^Agreed...Voyage and El Toro are two different types of coasters and experiences...they can't be compared. It's be like comparing S:ROS to Diamondback or Behemoth, they have their own pluses and minuses. aye carumba!!! Steeper is not always better...look at Perilous Plunge at Knott's...the steepness there has created problems and modifications to tweak-down ride intensity. I'd rather start at this, and "let 'er rip"!! I think the height will cancel out the angle anyway. Also, still a little confused on the restraints, but apparently it's like Maverick's, but without the over-the-shoulder part...so you're secured from the waist down.
