Former Employee Stories
Nope. It was for a few safety issues: 1. Accidentally let a guest who was too short ride Beastie. This was back before they had the height check station in the kids' area (only at the front of the park or at Guest Services) and the same year that the minimum height on Beastie had changed to 40 inches from 36 inches. On top of all that, we were short handed so we didn't have anyone to work greeter, which left height check responsibilities mainly to whoever was working load side in the station. For safety reasons, you couldn't let the incoming train pass you either, so it was kind of hectic. 2. Let 4 people (dad and three kids) ride in a helicopter on what was then Yogi's Skytours (now Woodstock Whirlybirds) 3. Accidentally left an exit gate unlatched (it was closed, just not latched) at the umbrella ride (now Peanuts Offroad Rally, though it was in a different location at the time)

Former Employee Stories
I worked at KI in the East Pie section of what was then Hanna-Barbera Land (in its last season as it turned out) for a few months in 2005 (got fired - won't get into that here). One hot summer morning I was working Beastie and wasn't feeling great, but didn't feel so bad that I felt I needed to go home. I bent over to check a guest's lapbar and puked all over the guest. I felt horrible and went to go clean up, leaving my poor coworkers to deal with the mess. Needless to say I did get sent home.

GLOCKENSPIEL TO RETURN FOR Kings Island’S 2019 SEASON
I'm glad to see this returning as well. Now if we could only get some decent German food to go in there instead of pizza, burgers and Chinese food.

Grand Carnivale - June 15-July 7
I'm excited for this. Having visited Cedar Point annually for the past 3+ years, I've always been impressed by the late-night activities they've had. I do realize that CP is a destination/resort park more than just a seasonal one, but still, it's fun to see the parks doing things that both cater to all guests regardless of thrill level and encourage people to stay at the parks later. I typically visit KI with my sister and nieces, and this will be something else that they can enjoy, especially the younger one who hasn't hit the 36" mark yet.

Disney World updates
I'm not a smoker and can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, but I honestly don't have much of an opinion on this. Obviously the powers that be at Disney seem to think this is a good idea. I am however laughing at some of the comments on the various FB posts about this - people claiming they're never coming to Disney again simply because they can't smoke inside the park, etc.

Forum software upgrade
I see some of the boards in the "Kings Island Community" category got moved around. Was this intentional?

The New Harry Potter Coaster at Universal Studios Orlando now has a name!
Not a Harry Potter fan but a coaster is a coaster so if I ever make it down there I'll have to ride it.

Cedar Fair Reports Full-Year and Fourth-Quarter 2018 Results
I'm one of those people helping to drive down per capita spending. I visited at least a dozen times last season and rarely spent any money at the park other than purchasing a poncho once or twice.

Volcano: The Blast Coaster to be removed!
I was hoping they'd be able to fix it so I could ride it when I visit the park in July. Such a shame.

Coasterstock 2019 - May 17th & 18th
Congratulations on the upcoming second child @CoastersRZ I am probably going to attend again this year, but am thinking of skipping HoliWood Nights this year. As much as I love HWN and Holiday World, doing two enthusiast events in less than a month is always a lot of work.

+ Create -> Topic shows things I can't see
Minor issue, but up at the top of the page, if you click "+ Create" then choose "Topic", the list of forums you can select from shows forums that aren't even visible to me. I can't actually select them since I can't post in them but I would think this would at least limit it to things I could actually see.

Kings Island Super 8 reel from 1972
My former coworker's brother (who I believe is the grandson of the guy who shot that Fessler footage) posted some of it to Facebook in 2017 and more to YouTube last year.

Carowinds
LKN Mini Golf in Cornelius is highly rated on both Yelp and TripAdvisor (under the name "Lake Norman Mini Golf"). It's about 30 minutes north of Charlotte according to Google.

Valleyfair and Dorney trying snack option with All Day Dining
Hopefully this will go chain wide. Also shouldn't it be "trying" and not "tearing"?

Carowinds
Right now I'm planning to do two full days at both CW and KD, though that could change if I decide to throw a trip to BGW in there as well...
-
Carowinds
I actually did consider a trip out west next summer (SFStL, SDC and WoF) but decided a Carowinds/Kings Dominion trip would be more affordable, plus I've been wanting to hit those parks for a long time.
-
Carowinds
Looking forward to visiting Carowinds this summer (planning a Carowinds and KD trip in July, with a possible stop at BGW as well depending on time and finances)

SkyStar Ferris Wheel to remain at The Banks Cincinnati until June
They worked that out a while back. They're going to build a pier off the floodwall then put the wheel on that instead: https://local12.com/news/local/newport-officials-approve-sale-of-bonds-for-skywheel I haven't heard anything else as far as when construction is supposed to start though

KICentral Survey
I'm wondering how many people are aware that the software actually works well on mobile devices. I don't see much of an issue with the mobile experience myself.
