What Old PKI Ride Do You Miss?
I wish I could have the credentials to say The Bat, but I was born in '87, so that was kinda out the door. Although I will say that Kenton's Canal was a sweet water ride at the park, it was aging. Does anybody know how old it was when it got the axe? Or was it part of the original park? I again wish I could say The Bat - man that looks like it was one sweet coaster. I've heard that many people still say it's their favorite suspended/inverted coaster to this day, even with the new technologies that companies like B&M, Vekoma and Arrow have come out with.

Favorite New Ride
Well I just untied the vote with my pick of Delirium...the coolest flat in the park, period.

What is this?
Is it neccessary for coaster cars/trains to be stored under a shelter of some type? Or does PKI just go the extra mile? The reason I ask is becuase Cedar Point stores many of their coaster cars/trains out in the weather. (Take a look at their web cam of TTD - you can see the Dragster cars sitting on the ground!) I've also seen desktop wallpaper of Gemini when it was snowing, and the Gemini trains/cars are sitting right on the Gemini midway.

Favorite Classic Flat
Days of Thunder COULD be considered a flat. It's definitely not a thrill ride, but it sure isn't a coaster. Maybe it's considered an entertainment ride? I have no idea. YAY! POST NUMBER 201!!! Now if i can only remember which one was #200...

Best Ride in The OC
(GAGS)...I almost couldn't decide between one of the sweetest flats ever (Shake, Rattle and Roll) and the world's first LIM launched coaster (Flight of Fear). Flight of Fear gives such a great ride...I'll admit that along with Steve, the lap bars aren't great for us taller people (even though I'm a mere 6' 2"). I oddly prefer the OTSRs because of their friendly-ness to the taller folk. Either way, Flight of Fear gives the most amazing coaster experience - plus, it's in the dark! I'm sure it'd be almost just as cool of a ride without the building's coverage, but it's definitely one of the best-themed coasters. I remember seeing a picture of Flight of Fear's spaghetti bowl with the interior lights on on the front page of the Go! section of the Dayton Daily many years ago (like 1996). Even being a nine year old then, I was still amazed how they could fit all that twisted track into a building that size. What a great ride...it made history, and good history at that!

Best ride in Rivertown
I quote myself saying this...Tomb Raider was a bigger step into the Movie Park idea. Sure, Paramount Action Zone is all about the big Paramount movies, but I believe Tomb Raider was one of the first (along with Runaway Reptar) rides outside of Action Zone to be themed after a movie. Tomb Raider shows me at least that PKI is beginning to try to make the whole park more like Universal Studios Islands of Adventure and parks like it.

Favorite Classic Flat
One that would change the park forever is none other than Shake Rattle and Roll!!! It's the best when you ride with a friend (especially if they're of the opposite sex...ha ha...) So much fun, and such a classic. I hope it never goes away!!!

Carowinds Uses Star Trek Theme
??? What is this supposed to mean? I know that it means that every Paramount Park will be getting a Star Trek themed ride, but who, with authority, said that this WILL happen? I'll believe this statement once we get a new attraction from Dr. Spock...

WaterWorks and BB...
I THINK THAT AFTER I TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK, they would probably benefit from changing up the music ever so often. How often? I have no idea. Top Gun plays the Top Gun Soundtrack ALL THE TIME. Even just as a park customer, I grow tired of the theme music. Hopefully, the park will take note and improve upon this and make the music for Boomerang Bay assorted.

What is this?
I suppose that does make more sense.

What is this?
Those apparatus are pretty nifty, I must say. It makes sense though that they would buy/build something like that to keep the coasters in better condition. It would make sense to see Top Gun and Face Off trains to also be hung on those things. It looks like they disassemble the sit-down trains that are stored in the picnic grove. Would it make more sense just to build makeshift track rails to set the individual cars on instead of having to take the things apart? I know that when any park recieves new coaster trains from Intamin, they ship the individual cars on their own makeshift rails.

King's Island's ex-webcam
Not to start a war or anything, but I specifically recall that PKI used to have multiple webcam views from the top of the Eiffel Tower. I remember one was pointed toward Son of Beast/King Cobra and another showed the view of Runaway Reptar. My question...where did the webcam(s) go? Does anyone know if PKI removed the actual cameras from the tower?

Beast Love
The Beast has been the world's longest woodie for 25 years...what a spot that is to hold! The Beast is the longest coaster (of both steel and wood) in the United States...pretty good considering that there are well over 400 coasters in the US alone - the country with the most coasters in the world. The design is great - it's secluded, there are PLENTY of hills and it really uses the terrain well. Only at PKI can a terrain coaster be so good. Happy Birthday, Beasty!!!! Daddio just shows us all that sometimes, an old dog CAN does better tricks!

New Ride Concepts
That Addams Family Coaster looks like it would benefit from being on a flat piece of land, such as a parking lot for example. If PKI truly is becoming a movie-theme park, I think one HUGE step in the 100% correct direction is to build a nice large B&M or Intamin coaster and theme it well...jut look at Islands of Adventure! PKI could REALLY be something if they did well enough in the 10 years.

PKI Casino
Putting a Casino in PKI would be like parking your car on top of your garage. I don't think it would work well. Who knows? It could not work at all. I just don't think a casino would fit well at a family movie park.

2005 Poll
Then your going to be broke. The truth is spoken. I'll bet that PKI WON'T be getting a Giga as their next coaster. If we do get a major ride, it's probably going to be something around 200 ft. tall, depending on the coaster type (floorless, sit-down, invert, etc.). An Addams Family Coaster as small ride package would be a sweet deal.

Best ride in Rivertown
(Laughs hysterically) Is this poll a jip? The Beast was a second coaster that put PKI on the map!!! It will be the king of Rivertown forever! But Lara Croft will forever be the queen...YESSSS.....

New Ride Concepts
This is true that they stated in the survey that their parks were movie parks. I think that this could be good or bad for coaster junkies. PKI could end up like Disney world with only a couple of sweet rides, OR PKI could become more like Islands of Adventure and have some amazing rides and theming. PKI may be trying to make a turn-around to try to really up the ante.

New Ride Concepts
If PKI does get either the Italian Job Coaster or the Addams Family Coaster, then it may be part of a package. Maybe they'd even come together as a package themselves. I took the survey too, and after finishing it, I decided to myself that it probably isn't geared toward just PKI. It's probably about any of the Paramount Parks. Just a thought I had. Like others have said, if we are getting anything for 2005, chances are that it has already been purchased and may start to be constructed within the next couple of months depending on its size.

2005 Poll
Although I partially agree, with modern engineering, you can do almost anything these days. If the park really saw to it, I'm sure they could put the station underneath the spaghetti bowl of Flight of Fear. I wouldn't doubt anything at this point. Until we see spray paint marks, concrete footers or supports going up, none of us really know what may be happening.

2005 Poll
I agree with PKI Punk, if we are getting something large for next year, we should start to at least see spraypaint on the ground for a new coaster. A large coaster cannot be built in a few months - sometimes it takes a good year to get one finished. I imagine that with the terrain at the park, there is a very slim change we'll be getting a clone. I think it's a custom to boot. Customs take a while to build, and when you have hills and valleys, it just adds to the building process (or so I assume). If King's Island is going to have a 200+ foot coaster standing in the park for 2005, I can almost bet we'll be able to watch at least the beginning of the construction process continue on opening day. It's just a matter of time.

WaterWorks and BB...
I've been to Waterworks a few times in my life, but now I'll definitely be making a few Boomerang Bay trips to the park this year. If a lot of the public is like me, the new expansion is going to be PACKED this year.

Mid Winter Boomerang Bay Tour
Hmmm...it does sound like Old Coney is the last place to get a big upgrade. A new coaster sounds like the right thing. Hopefully, it'll change the park's skyline. Maybe SOB will have to look up to it. Just an idea.

KOOKABURRA BAY
From what I understand, it's going to be a new pool type thing with a waterfall. That's all I can gather from the pictures. As for the location, no clue here. Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Which area do you miss the most?
Coney Mall gets my vote, although I almost went with Rivertown. Rivertown makes you feel like you're in another part of the world - even though you aren't. Coney Mall just gives the classic carnival-and-then-some feeling. It's got some great coasters, too. A fair supply of classic flats, might I also mention.
