yes, the park opens good friday, and saturday, but, as of last I heard, closed on Easter.
  2. It very well could be an interpretation of what a roller coaster is, very possible. I was just saying what I had seen. What we consider a roller coaster can be different from what the park wants us to consider to be a roller coaster.
  3. The PKI website states that Avatar will be a family oriented coaster. Now, they could be pretty lenient with what they call a coaster, but I am going to go with the site and say, it will be a coaster, oriented towards the family. A family coaster would be more like IJST or Adventure Express I dont see one of them going over there. And I shall again direct you to the PKI website which states that avatar will be a family inspired roller coaster.
  4. I enjoy Millenium Force followed closely behind The Beast.
  5. Well, talking about the Legend and the Raven, they are both great coasters. I rode them 2 seasons ago, when raven was number 1 wooden and legend was 5, I think. Anyways, IMO, Legend was a much better ride than the Raven. Just as I got into the Raven, it ended. A little longer would have made it great. I was like "whee.. oh, it's over" Legend is very solid, and gets the marks it should. Beast, still my favorite wooden, but I am probably a bit biased.

  7. I think that after seeing the green space left, there would have been room to keep them, but yes, it would have been pretty tight. You would have had to move the line and in order to make them fit, I think would have to go as close as possible to Happy Days. Still doable I think, but it's to late to worry about that now.
  8. I just went to the PKI website, like 2 seconds ago. Now, I clicked the Nick Universe link and, I was not able to copy the exact quote, but it clearly said that there was an avatar themed family roller coaster. Go check it out. It's there, I swear.

sorry, the photo quality makes it tough to see. I do not remember the elephant walk, but I do remember riding on the safari a couple of times. I hope someone here remembers.
  10. sorry for the double post, but yeah, I understand the pain. I wish they wouldn't have moved. But I can't say they havent done anything for them. The paint job looks very nice on it. It looks really good. The biggest downside, other than it being so far away, is that their rides people have no idea how to operate it right, and it is in Nickelodeon area, so they have to help all the kids on and off.
  11. I remember, back when I first joined, you vouched that I did work in the park for the employee area on these forums (which I can no longer get too). Anyways, to the poster who said, they were removed to make way for IJST, we're all well aware. Now, if you read my post more carefully, it asks, who's gone to visit them in their new home, Paramount's carowinds. Like an old friend you go to visit once they move, who's gone to visit their old friend, the Eagles, or, as Carowinds has themed it, the Phantom Flyers?
  12. Ohh.. I know, but I wasn't on the site for that. I was asking though, since I knew there were many upset and ****ed people if anyone has made that trip to ride them. In case you are planning on it, it's in their Nickelodeon or Kiddie area if you prefer that. I will be going again this year to visit my old games manager and will ride them again. Maybe I'll get some more pics.
  13. Well, some of you may be aware, others may not, but I am a games person at the park. Anyways, the games GM last year went down to Carowinds, which is where our Eagles went. Well, I went to visit him last during their season and rode the Phantom Flyers, which, in case you don't know, are our flying eagles. Anyone else been down to Carowinds to ride them? Or am I the only one? Also, I have a pic of it, maybe I will try to figure out how to get them posted somewhere or hosted to show you the cool paint job they got. They look really nice.
  14. I love those people. Walking around with the 3D goggles on. If I see em, I grab em from em. Anyways, "You ask where the monorail is for the jungle safari. Lose 5 turns while trying to find it's entrance."
  15. That's one thing I enjoy about our park. Yeah, everyone knows CP has more coasters that are taller, but, they're running out of room. Everytime I go, more and more rides and being placed on top of exisitng rides. They have a nice park, but they are limited on space. And it's not like they can gain more land, they have a large lake surrounding them on 3 sides. PKI, on the other hand still has room to grow. I like that we are putting stuff in the exisitng park rather than on our unused land, right now, because our park needed a layout that was a tad nicer. However, when the time comes, we have the land to expand.
  16. I come back to the amusement parks for the thrills. I have gone to many parks, and they are all unique. They are a great time. As far as the region thing, my guess that it just worked out that way. In Ohio, there's not much to do besides Amusement parks. Florida, they already had tourists. They grew on that. That;s my guess.
  17. [gasp] you didnt just, no, no you didnt! I really dont think he went there! oh he did, he is dissing my homepark, the park i have visited since i was really small. I have gone every year since the unveiling of Splashin Safari in 1993, and a few times before that, i went. never once did i ride Firecracker, but i would love to ride a pinfari zyklon! dude, look at the quality of the park, has any paramount park ever won the Applause Award? ha ha ha, Holiday World has!!! [/2 cents] He may be referring to the ride selection... However, they do have some world classs coasters, mainly the Legend and the Raven. (IMO, they arent as good as The Beast, but I dont do the judging.) They dont have near the amount of rides, but it has to be the cleanest park I have ever seen. I was impressed by what they have done. It's definitely not there size that gets them recognized. They have done an incredible job over there. Anyways, anything could happen in the next couple of years. The park loves to mix it up. I am a coaster enthusiast and would love a nice new, sweet coaster. I'd love to see a flying coaster. However, a few years ago, our park made a choice. We could have built a sweet coaster and competed for the extreme seeker, or we could have built a very sweet kid's area, them our park a bit more, and become a nice family oriented park, while maintaining a thrill. We chose the latter. That's they way we are heading. Best kid's area for 4 years says something about the direction we are heading. But, they never cease to suprise me. We havent lost the possibility of becoming an extreme park. As far as this year, IJST is going to be pretty sweet, regardless of wht type of coaster you are into. It looks amazing. Next year, just relax. My prediction: PKI will continue to suprise.
  18. I work games. I have been with the park 5 years now. But most people here seem to be from rides. It's truly your call though.
