  1. I figure it takes WS a minute to get to the top under normal power, my guess is 5 minutes per cycle(up to 4 riders) times doing it 16 times. Thats already over an hour and that doesnt factor in setting up the rig, and all the other factors to get to the actual point of an evac. My guess is it will still take around 2 hours to evac WS. Having this theory, I will still ride WS.
  2. The roller skater is at Magic Mountain and the S&S towers are at Great Escape.
  3. Why would they need a master plan for land that someone else will develop?
  4. Forgive me, but where this come from?
  5. Carowinds already goes that in some ways. They combined french fries and hamburgers prices(making it a combo) for SCarowinds but during the day, you could get just fries or just a burger. Doesn't POS software also track purchases foor the entire or just the Single computer?
  6. I am hoping for Carowinds to get this program because I don't mind spending money in the park.
  7. I am surprised Wildwater Kingdom hasn't followed suit or expanded.
  8. I am 5'9", 270 pounds and I sometimes fit on Intimidator and have a hard time with Afterburn at Carowinds. I have done the walk of shame on WindSeeker and Intimidator but normally can get the two clicks. I have big tighs and a plumb belly.
  9. Money talks... What works raises the sails and what doesn't walks the planks.
  10. Carowinds says they are loose articles and not allowed. I expect all Cedar Fair parks would have the same policy but that isn't always true. Why risk your safety and the safety of others to "get that one shot". (Point well made about TPR POVs)

  12. All of recently paintee steel should be ok, so most of the rides should be in runnable shape even sitting out. Of course, they need annual inspection and the associated winter maintnance. Not sure how fiberglass holds up, but Thunder Run will need a complete retracking if not more. Werent Twisted Twins trains last seen at SFSt. Louis? Twisted Twins I expect to be a rusted mess in varying stages of decay.
  13. In 2005, the 5 Paramount Parks had revenues of $84 million per park compared to $47 million per park for CF's 12 parks. Those numbers are from dividing the revenue numbers by number of parks. See press release concerning purchase of PP on Rcdb.com
  14. There were five parks but seven properties total at a value of $177 million. That includes the management contract for Gilroy Gardens and Star Trek: The Experience. Geauga Lake didn't fall down just under Cedar Fair, my opinion is SFWoA was overbuilt.
  15. Why Mi. Adventure? They have already tried to dump Valleyfair and Great America. Mi.A. to my knowledge does pretty well for its self and haslow competition. Canada's Wonderland has the highest attendance of thr seasonal parks, a captial firm would buy low and want to sell high. Correct me if I am wrong, Six Flags made a pretty penny from WoA and CF got Paramount Parks for a steal.
  16. I just see blank posts...
  17. It is dark and I am reading bumps in the night. However, I have a theory that KI will be getting a leviathan of coasters but not the size of Top Thrill.
  18. I thought SFGAm stopped running Am. Eagle also.
  19. Yes, Carowinds. 3 coasters and a set of Flyers.
  20. Stratosoar sounds better than WindSeeker, however KBF is keeping the splashdown pool from Perilous Plunge. 2+2=4 to me
  21. Correct, a sign does not constitute an agreement itself in any event however for Season Pass holders if user of the signs the back of the pass, that does constitute an agreement. Admission tickets say that the holder assumes all risk of personal injury. Yes, I know the words on a ticket will not stand up in court however a season says holder must obey all posted signs and policies. Also, the incorrect country of manufacture was on purpose.
  22. Yea, yelling down the tower. Even if they could communicate, chances are the park(whether it be KI, Knotts, Carowinds, etc is doing the best to get riders safely but quickly to the ground. It ain't like they are all standing around scratching their butts with their wrenches while saying "What now?; I don't know; call them people in Germany; they made the thing." Besides amusement parks do say "Ride at your own risk."
  23. It doesnt surprise me that the Ocean View Rocket defied implosion, coasters are designed to restand stresses that buildings will never have to like a 1 ton plus coaster train racing down a drop at speed. The forces placed on riders have to absorbed through the structure which 1 ton time 3(Gs) is 3 tons.
  24. They could say "Go to www.visitkingsisland.com or go "visitkingsisland.com", there are multiple ways not to confuse the gp.
