The lead creditors attorney said this was the park's last shot and that at some point, it may have to wave the white flag. The park is still losing money. Land sales are not going as well as hoped. The Beach Club insurance proceeds issue remains to be decided. The reorganization plan must be amended in the face of the objections. A draft is expected in about two weeks. Hearing in August or September. A park with no clear plan has gotten to sneak in another season. Want to go to Conneaut Lake Park? Better make it now.

The percentage of Kings Island's patronage that has even HEARD of Holiday World, much less gone there, is almost certainly below 10.

It's NOT unknown. It's WHY Landmark status was created. Changes will NOT affect that status. As if more than 1/4 of 1 percent of the park attendance cared.

Son of Beast was good on paper? Had it not been for Paramount's insistence for height and speed records then taking over construction and cheaping out, it would still be with us today. It isn't. And it had an intensely boring layout, next to no airtime, terrible pacing, no laterals to speak of, poor reliability, poor re-rideability, poor capacity... Other than that, it was at least a mediocre ride.

Blue Streak was an ACE Coaster Classic. That's different, which is my point.

Why? The Beast isn't an ACE Coaster Classic. I know of no reason whatsoever that train modifications or replacements would affect ACE Landmark Coaster Status. Terp -- who learns the darnest things here.
