I'm more of the Picnic In The Park type...

The pay to play is sneaking back into parks: upcharge attractions, Fast Lane, preferred parking, Fright Lane, Skeleton Key, etc.

The predictabilty of the masses can indeed inspire sadness and melancholy. See also Lucy. And a football.

Yes. I was there the final season before Taft "moved" the park, with the Boy Scouts. I took $100 with me, a huge sum. Shooting Star and the other rides and a bit of food took all but a bit of change. Most went to Shooting Star. What a ride that was!

Once Haunt starts, you cannot re-enter the park on the same admission. It is a way for the park to reduce trips to a vehicle to...among other things, imbibe or otherwise get into trouble. Or to be sure that those who do wish to eat, drink or be merry, do so in the park and enhance per caps.

Obviously, the near wall to walls crowds do not agree with you. Now, Winterfest...

There are generally no per attraction costs. Kings Island isn't Six Flags. At least there haven't been in the past. There is Fright Lane...and that's additional cost. And no re-entry during Haunt. And they have experimented with additional rooms for a charge...

It certainly does. The park that would not die is open still, with the huge Sunlite Pool, rides and picnics. It is but a shadow of what it once was, but a very nice little park. Take a look at some of the other threads in this topic.

Hmmm. Location, location, location. I wonder what the highest and best use for that property is. Somehow I doubt it is water park/hotel/restaurant complex.

You do realize the park is a mere shadow of its former self--in acreage, in prominence, in attendance? Coney Island of Ohio is Kings Island's predecessor park. Much of the land now belongs to others. No one would now call Coney Island of Ohio the preeminent or dominant park of the Cincinnati area.

Well, you can keep right on wanting. Sigh.

I doubt it. They would be sad at what little remains of the park.
