  1. Actually, the black around the outside of the building is sheathing. usually they use this type of fiber board, or plywood to sheath houses. This type of fiber, is cheaper than plywood, but holds up just as well, and walls can be factory built with the stuff attached, and then shipped to the site for faster building, rather than constructing each wall on site. The thing should still get some type of Tyvek wrap as a moisture barrier, unless it is already on, and then the insulation will go on the inside between the studs, before they put up drywall or whatever on the inside.
  2. I think it would be cool if the finale was at PKI. All of the finale's for the shows have since the second survivor taken place on some sort of stage/soundstage that was constructed to look just like the original tribal council. In addition to finding out the winner, we also get to see the review show afterwards, where they talk with all the castaways. if oyu ahve ever watched these, the audiences for these shows aren't all-out huge. I am thinking Timberwolf at night, would be the perfect setting for this show. Chances are, if they do this, I am betting AZ or maybe the entire park could be closed, and only those attending the show would have access. I hope pass holders are at the top of the list.
  3. Kings Island produces very few clones. I would bet any coaster we see, is most likely going to be of the custom type. PKI seems like most of their clones are rides and some items from other parks. I am thinking, whatever we get, will be custom and not a clone. I could go for one really kick butt inverter, like a B&M or some type of coaster we do not yet have, by some manufacturer, other than arrow, even though I like their coasters.
  4. Man, I hope that the otudoor queue is covered at least somewhat, like TR:TR's queue to help shade you from the sun. The other thought is, I don't really want to get yacked on by anyone on Delirium who gets a little ill on this ride. Hope they have thought of everything, and we aren't baking in the sun, or whatever else may come.
  5. I think it would be cool if that happened. I remember seeing a few of the survivors from one of the past seasons, I think about two summers ago. We were waiting to get on SOB, and they were riding on the same train we were. it was pretty neat. I can't remember who all the people were, but I do remember Tina, who was the winner of one of the Survivor Series'.
  6. I think you are right about that being a control room, and if you think about it, its good reasoning to put it close to the ride, for probably several reasons. First off, when the ride ops go to unload the ride, if the building is cl,ose, they won;t have to walk as far. if they had to walk further, it would probably slow down the capacity of the ride, and I'm sure PKI wants to keep the capacity on that ride as high as possible. Secondly, it also means they don't have to run hundreds of extra feet of cable. If the control room is close to the ride, hen all they have to do is run the controlling cables to the base and into the room, thus saving some money, and the pain of running additional wires. I am thinking to, that Delirium, is very large, and the pictures that have been posted, don't do it justice. It wouldn't surprise me if its sheer size, took up most of the footprint that KC used to occupy, which would mean, that control room would have to be close to the ride.
  7. I like that idea, a new PKI area, with a futuristic theme. Tht would be really neat, and provide a new place where PKI could make a coaster that crosses over a major path. That idea with newly themed area, really rocks, and hopefully, PKI will get us a new area soon.
  8. When they do the music videos, it would be good if they tried to keep up with the changing music through the summer, not the same old stuff. I think this would be one really good improvement to implement.
  9. Yeah, that would be pretty neat. I hink it would also be cool, if the coaster actually ran through the hills and stuff. Make the coaster fit the terrain, not the terrain fit the coaster, so if you put a turn in, and it turns towards a hill, make a tunnel for that section of track, and have it coem out of the hill somewhere else. I think this could produce a really neat effect. I also think if they do that, they should develop some type of theme for the ride, and add some really good theming elements, to enhance the riding experience.

Well, thats pretty neat. I don;t think I have ever seen or noticed the FoF transfer track. I didn't realize there was one. I mean on the other caosters in the park, you can actually see the transfer track quite easily, but I don't ever remember seeing the one on FoF.
  11. I think it would be cool if PKi built a coaster that went over a major walkway. Like corkscrews over Coney Malls wide path, or something like that. There is one coaster at Carowinds that does that, and creates a really neat effect. I thought it was neat to look up and see people corkscrewing by overhead.
  12. I don't know, I just think that there has to be some better way to provide lighting in Coney Mall, and other areas of the park than just light bulbs. Something that will not burn out as frequently, provide at least some decent light and look good. I think they just need something that will last a little while longer, and not see burned out bulbs all over the place.
  13. The only way I'll be happy with a tunnel of SOB is if it makes the same eerie howling sound as the helix tunnel on The Beast. That sound is so cool, and so perfect for that coaster. I love it.

Thats pretty Cool. Is the basement under FoF an actual basement, or a work area where the parks maintenance people can get to, to work on the undercarriage of the trains? I think the secrets and different stuff in the park are the best, kinda like the hidden mickeys and stuff that people find at WDW.
  15. I would say that PKI will probably be sending out emails and flyers via snail mail about one month before the park starts any of those days. I think some have already mentioned that April 11th from 5-10 will be the season pass preview night, like in past years.
  16. if you put the optics up high enough, you won't have to worry about them getting damaged. The other plus is, some of that stuff is a type of light emitting plastic, so its gonna last a really long time. It only takes one light bulb with acolored disc, to color hundreds or strands of optic. Its some pretty tough stuff, and since they are now using it in swimming pools and other places, it must be totally water resistant, and able to take a beating.

Isn't that kinda ironic that the employees don't know about the employee shortcut to the ride? Don't they tell you guys this stuff, or do you have to figure it out, on your own?
  18. I think the Castle entrance will have the "drawing" effect. What I mean is that, there is going to be this gigantic, huge, rather ominous looking castle, with a drawbridge and maybe a moat, nearby, that will "draw" people towards it. Look at AZ, with all the big rides, it always has the most people, in one area, and I think the tall castle will have the same effect in HBL.
  19. you never know. I am sure there are I/O sensors and limit switches up in the crows nest at the top of Delirium.
  20. Another option to keep Coney Mall with the retro yet updated look, could be through the use of multiple lighting elements inclduing perhaps fiber optics. You can use single strands of fiber optics to produce a starrry effect, which would be cool on some of the buildings at night. You can also use these optics for different signs and such, making them look better, without using bulbs, and neon, but still have colors, and made of a material that will last a long time.
  21. I got it, they should add either the first Inverted, floorless Giga coaster, or the first stand up Giga coaster. Both would be all out cool, and as far as I know, one of a kind. I hope they have thought of this, as an option.
  22. Don't forget its also suppsoed to be barefoot, and somehow uphill both ways?
  23. Maybe PKI could take a proactive approach and plant osme trees around it to hepl it along. Then they could shape the trees each year, so that over time the coaster does wind through the trees. I think that sounds like a promising option for SOB becoming somewhat covered and obscured by trees.

Hey I think dusky sounds good, like dusk the time of day before susnet, when the sun is a little low in the sky, and there is a little less light. That is definitely a good description of the walkback through the woods to WWC.
  25. Proof artwork is usally a very limited set. usually when artists proof something, they usually only proof between one and ten copies, and mark them as proofs, so there is a much smaller set of these items, hence each one is worth abunch more, than the copies that are made after the proof.
