Kings Island 2019 Discussion
I like the ride.. just needs a harness that doesn't destroy my ears.

it's also a strange place for bathrooms, unless they were only accessible via racers exit line.... which would make a lot of sense lol.

I was there that day also. I've been going almost every Sunday for the past 4 years and I've never seen it that busy on a Sunday. Maybe because it rained and was crappy on Saturday.. idk.

Just got back from the park. Remind me to never ever go on "opening day" again. Literally 50 buses of screaming high schoolers. No teasers anywhere that I could find and there was about 5 guys doing surveying out in the cleared area. No new markings that I could see. There is a bunch of stuff between racer and FOF building as shown in those pictures. I would guess that this where they will put all the equipment, track, and columns when they come in.

While not a roller coaster engineer, I am an engineer (marine), and I don't see anything wrong with this design.. and in fact this looks like it would be a pretty fun element! Especially if launched just fast enough to barely make it over the top (aka TTD and Kingda Ka). However, I believe the support columns and footers would be different than anything we've seen to support that structure.

I was there last night.. there are a lot more cones and markers set in that area then previously. No pics cause I saw them from blue racer.. which is somewhat rideable now without causing spinal injury lol

I would like to see 2 or 3 extreme flat rides where Vortex is. Great flat rides are what Kings Island is really missing.

Maybe they're not in a hurry, maybe the company that was contracted to clear land only had that time slot available. Or, maybe footers will go in this week.. we don't know. I would think they would announce before footers because once that starts, most people can figure out what type of coaster it is, layout, etc.

If that plan is real, it's NOT a wing coaster. The station design does not work for a wing coaster.

It's screwed up because no one created it. It's more than likely the default scale with the template and no one changed it, or the plan was copied from one print template to another, and also no one botherd to change the scale. Either way if it was correct, that would make the station 30' x 11'. Kids coasters have bigger stations than that lol

The coaster, if those plans are real, doesn't seem short either, just not long. DB is 5282 feet long, leviathan is 5486. Project X length compared to DB is just a bit longer in plan view. With hills, the track length grows, with large hills, this could be a 6000' of track.

The scale of the drawing is printed on the page right under the plan title "Partial Foundation Plan" and is 1" = 20'. Next time someone goes to the office to look at these, bring a ruler. The 40' scale is incorrect, and you guys would be ashamed of engineers if you knew how many errors go unnoticed or unchanged in "official" documents.

My take on what I see from those plans with giga in mind. I hope I'm wrong and they don't follow their traditional layouts... but I just see a taller version of Diamondback.

Sounds headache inducing, we don't need another Firehawk lol.

If that layout was real, I say it's either a giga with a lot of air time hills (larger version of Diamondback), or a huge floorless. I'm just happy it doesn't look like a dive coaster lol.

It's not a wing coaster, the station doesn't work for a wing. Could be a record breaking floorless..

The land that's cleared matches this.. and it's all flat currently.

Look at the way the track is positioned off to one side of the station, it's not a wing coaster. The 40' scale is wrong and I assume is the default on the template that no one changed. If this was the scale, the station would be about 30' x 11' feet.. which just doesn't work for any type of coaster. The 1"=20' is the correct scale. Someone needs to take a ruler or tape with them next time.
