  1. Looks like a cute addition to the park. The Vekoma family inverts are a far superior product than the ones from B&M (imagine saying that even a few years ago!).
  2. The entire bowl was numbered from what I recall. Here are some photos I gathered while attending CS:
  3. Found a photo from a Costerstock that will work. The red supports there have the numbers. The concrete is under those supports marked in yellow.
  4. Over 6 million lights, magical shows, and festive fun await the 35th annual Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood starting Nov. 1. https://themeparksbydon.com/dollywood-smoky-mountain-christmas-2025/
  5. Diamondback would be less forceful with the 4-across trains. The layouts of all modern coasters are initially designed around the forces at the center of the train, so the farther you are from the center (e.g. the front or back rows) the more forceful the ride is. The forces have to stay within certain limits for the ride to be safe, so longer trains require the ride to be more drawn out so the forces at either end stay within the limits. Compare how small the radius of the top of the lift on Orion is compared to Diamondback. If you swapped out the staggered trains for the 4-across trains, everyone would sit closer to the center of the train, so the ride would be gentler. See also: Voyage being more extreme in the front and back rows with the original 7-car trains than with the current 6-car trains. The inverse is true with Orion: If you put an 8-car staggered train on Orion, the forces in the front and back would likely be way too high for people to safely ride.
  6. 1. Maestro in the queue. Seems like a no brainer. With some updates and special effects, it could be really, really cool. 2. Pepper’s Ghost finale. It sucks, but with screen based tech, the no reason why they would. Prove me wrong! 3. Not remove it in ten years.
  7. I doubt you'll miss those specific trees when riding... especially when you learn what they were removed for ;-) ...and I agree with the earlier sentiment that any work to keep The Beast running - or running better - is always appreciated.
  8. Nor did the King's on the bar behind Hank's LOL
  9. I have the full version of that image here. I might miss some things, but here's some of the new additions I've been able to find in counter-clockwise order: Looks either like a Junior Whip ride or a relocation of the bumper cars in the bottom left corner Zamperla Disc-O and Barnyard near Lightning Run Looks like a Flying Carousel ride similar to Dumbo at Disneyland. It's hard to tell specifically, but it seems to resemble flying pigs. Located to the left of the entrance A Zierer Wave Swinger and Zamperla Nebulaz to the right of the entrance An attraction with white track. (Himalaya appears to be removed or relocated somewhere else in the park) Some sort of red-tracked addition to the left of the showstage. This also could just be decorations. Tin Lizzies seems to be rethemed with tractors A blue coaster in the plaza area of Discovery Meadow. This might actually just be Hollyhock and Roll, as some attractions don't appear to be in the right areas in this rendering. Some sort of new pool area in the waterpark. This also looks to be some sort of show stage as well.
  10. I've always liked the visual of that structure from the ground.
  11. This looks to be a great addition to the park.
  12. Rode The Beast a few times today, and there are concrete pads under the hill of the second lift going into the helix. The supports that come together in the middle are numbered with paint at the bottom. Obviously, there's no way to get a photo, but it's very interesting. I wonder if the second lift and drop are getting reworked over winter? Post your thoughts!
  13. As everyone else has said, I'll be upset if Maestro isn't playing the organ on his balcony in the queue line. They might even be able to put him on top of the weird indoor entrance roof if the balcony is somehow too small/unwieldy for a new Maestro. The FunTV screens should also get sent to other rides queues, but I don't have faith in Six Flags to take them out. I hope they prove me wrong! A second potential upset: I really hope they restore the old auditorium scene to its full size and glory (minus the Pepper's Ghost effect). The space was literally designed for it and probably still exists under all that plywood! I doubt we'll see a new Pepper's Ghost scene used anywhere. Maybe something could be done with screens, but nothing on the scale of what was there before. If anything is changed from the original, I think it will be the overall tone of the ride. Instead of sneaking through a haunted theater as trespassers, we'll be welcomed into a reopened theater as helpers. That tonal shift alone might be enough to sway opinions between the old and the new.
  14. 1. For me I would love to see the return of The Maestro playing the organ in the que, it was iconic and it just wouldn't seem right for the Phantom Theater to return without it. Also I want creepy music to be played in the que and for the FunTVs to be removed. (I feel like the FunTVs playing take away from the creepy vibe that PT is supposed to be) 2. I don't think they'll bring back the darkness (as dark as the original PT was) but who knows they might surprise me! 3. If they decide to do the Peppers Ghost effect maybe the glass shouldn't so close where riders can rudley spit or throw gum at it.
  15. I don't think that ever got fixed.
  16. 1. So two things for this, because they're my two favorite scenes and I'm very passionate about this: I'm worried that the queue with Maestro playing the organ and turning back to the audience will return. I know it's literally something depicted on the logo, but it was an iconic aspect of the original. Even more-so, I want them to bring back Houdelini's scene of pulling the demon rabbit out of the hat mostly as is. Unless the eyes have pretty big movement, neither of the Houdelini figures we've seen really fit this scene, and it's probably my favorite bit of the original. 2. I think the talking statues won't be included. It feels like an effect that didn't really work in the original, and isn't really impressive now. 3. I'd love the performer characters to get voice lines other than Maestro and Willard (Like Houdelini, Garbanzo, Lionel, Hilda)
  17. I noticed that Tin Lizzies seem to be missing (although there's a small bit of what could be it's track showing - but no full circuit.) There's some sort of a farm themed car-ride, also a rotational-type ride inside one of the coaster's turns. Another smaller thing I noticed - there's a horse-racing themed statue in the fountain of the main entrance... I don't recall there being one there currently. Annnnnd.... The circuit of the new coaster doesn't make sense (incomplete) and there's no main drop shown. The layout doesn't match Flying Fox's layout in its rendering, Concept art is just that... a concept. So I don't put much merit in them. I'm not saying those rides will not be added down the road - but it was probably just a rendering of potential ideas provided by one of the manufacturers, an outside theming company, or the park's development/planning team. We'll see. I actually hope those things will come. I hope Kentucky Kingdom will finally shed its poor past, and rise to its future potential. These are good indications the people in charge know precisely what the park can be.
  18. 3 Questions: What’s one thing will you be upset if they don’t bring back? Whats one thing you don’t think they’ll bring back? What’s something you’d like changed that they didn’t do the 1st time?
  19. Also, looked closely at the announcement video. At the part they say “this is just the beginning” notice what all is actually on the screen. I see a Zamperla Barnyard, a Disc-o, some unknown ride close to the front right. And more notably, a water park expansion.
  20. The park also announced they are doing a multi-year plan for the next decade. It's going to be interesting to see how much the park is going to change within that time period. Kentucky Kingdom put out a survey not too long ago that focused on some sort of indoor family coaster, so maybe that's going to be next?
  21. The Dollywood version packs a surprisingly good little punch. I'm hoping the same for this. Love that they are tunneling under the walkway.
  22. I like it! Dragonflyer at Dollywood is a lot of fun...this seems like the layout is expanded a bit which would be great!
  23. Nice addition. I like the theme.
  24. I personally like the staggered trains because they are longer and you get some serious airtime in the back of those super long trains. I do feel like the 4 across trains are faster, but Diamondback isn't meant to be a super fast paced speed ride-that's Orion's job. Diamondback is there for the massive airtime. I wouldn't change a thing on Diamondback. It's perfect and is my all-time favorite hyper!
  25. The trees are gone in area 1 now. Even though it was just a few trees, any more tree removal around that ride is concerning since thats a lot of its magic. Grizzly at KD was once totally surrounded by trees. Look at it now…..
  26. Maybe turned into a monster to scare the rat... Although it was taken by The Unnamable from Efteling's Danse Macabre. I don't think Kings Island is gonna make Arpeggio a monster cat. Lore wise, the deceased takes their mortal forms when they died and is not like a monster. Banshee is evidence that Ghosts or Phantoms maintained there human look.
  27. Which area are you talking about? I'm understanding them to be in area 1. More work to keep The Beast running well is always appreciated! Oh, and for all the theorists: OMG IRON BEAST RMC CONVERSION CONFIRMED!!!
  28. One prediction for PTON, is with the introduction of Arpeggio the Cat as new character which I presume will be present throughout most of the ride, well personally I think this is supposed to be the same Cat that was scared by the giant mouse/rat in the original PT ride, but in the new ride I can see them do a twist where Arpeggio gets the upper hand and scares the giant mouse/rat... I think that would be perfect! (If they decide to bring the gianr mouse/rat back, this is what I think they should do!)
  29. I saw it on reddit- I originally had the images too- but then I read the comments and saw that this was taken during a camera’s down tour so I removed them. Not sure if keeping the link up makes any difference. @IndyGuy4KI?
  30. I initially saw the TikTok a few days ago and really had a long ponder about this. On one hand, I feel bad when hard work of essential artists is leaked like this. The other hand, it’s just nice to see an update (ANY UPDATE) on this project. In the meantime here’s some AI slop with a very important message.
  31. Saw that, unfortunate that she was filming in an area of the tour you're not allowed to, but great for us who've been craving some phantom progress pictures, and it means we're only a month away from seeing them active. I've been on that Sally Tour, its a great time. I assume this will be the two animatronics shown at the Sally booth, and I assume these will be towards the beginning of the ride with the screen showcasing how the flashlight works. It definitely looks like the flashlights will be something new other than the same blasters, as the IAAPA description said they would show off the flashlight technology and two of the new animatronics.
  32. https://www.reddit.com/r/KingsIsland/s/QpUR6QQtxR
  33. I want to be surprised for the most part no actual scenes however a teaser here and there would be nice, I still would like to see pictures of Boo Blasters props being removed though.
  34. I’m like half and half: I want to know enough to be excited for it (mostly what the characters look like so I can draw them tbh) but I don’t want to see any full scenes or like a ridethrough before opening day.
  35. I was thinking that too, I don't see why not the IAAPA wouldn't acknowledge Phantom Theater Opening Nightmare, I want to see as many teasers as I can before the ride opens in 2026. I'm hoping KI has more teasers soon or at least some construction process.
  36. Agreed. Unfortunately there are some areas where AI cannot be entirely avoided, but if one can avoid it, please do. Any and everything counts. AI data centers are absolutely awful for the environment as stated above and horrible for local communities who happen to be near a data center. And yes, the art theft is a real tragedy too. I really have nothing good to say about AI.
  37. Who cares if AI slop is taking over? The goal should be to reverse that trend and use less of it. Its damaging to the environment and to artists alike. The only good of AI is it allows creators to avoid paying actual artists and performers. Its slop and should be shunned, as opposed to just giving in and accepting.
  38. That or at least give them a partial refund for the 5 hours that were cut. I was there earlier today when they made the announcement, and I saw several guests complaining about not being able to get a refund. It would be really nice if the park had a "Worry-Free Weather Guarantee" like a certain other park has, but corporate certainly wouldn't approve of that.
