Since there's a good chance that the Paramount name may be dropped from the park, it wouldn't make too much sense to continue to be PKICentral. If we did change the name of the site, which one do you prefer to be the main URL? We own all three, PKICentral.com, KICentral.com, and KingsIslandCentral.com, so this is going to mainly be which one the site is named after. Please comment below.

KICentral.com because KingsIslandCentral.com is too long, and don't keep PKICentral because it isn't Paramount's Kings Island anymore. But thats just what I think.

Naturally, I think that the site should become KICentral.com if the Paramount name is dropped (which I think is going to happen). KingsIslandCentral, while in theory would be better because then the URL would contain the name of the park, would be cumbersome for people to type because of the length and more of a switch from the current pkicentral.com (granted most regulars to this site have it bookmarked). Additionally, KICentral is short and to the point and not a drastic switch from pkicentral.com. My vote is for KICentral.com.

I also agree. KICentral.com sounds great to me. As PKICentral makes since too, when the park is called Paramount's Kings Island. But if it's defently going to be only called Kings Island again, KICentral.com is fine.

I also think KI central because kingsislandcentral is a little cheesy and pkicentral has the paramount name in it.

KICentral. PKICentral will become obsolete when www.pki.com does. Also, www.kingsislandcentral is very long and will take up much of your time and space changing the names on images.

If Cedar Fair drops the "Paramount's," they no doubt would not want anything out there to refer to the park as PKI....unless, of course they could come up with something the P stood for...but even then, I would think KI will again become the preferred designation.

KICentral would just be an easier change, too.

I mean, all you have to do to change logos would be to throw 'em in Paint and use the eraser tool on the "P"

The photos will likely keep the "PKICentra" name on them because it's completely unfeasable to edit 3,100 photos but everything else will be converted. Future photos will of course be watermarked with "whatever-central".

Knowing Cedar Fair, there is no way I would advise changing the name of this here website until the park name has been changed. Cedar Fair has a way of changing its mind at the last possible minute.

Remember, for instance, that that which is Mantis was not supposed to be. Media announcement made...comments came flying in and then it was suddenly Mantis...some t-shirts had already been made with the B word on them...

They had their reasons for that...issue.

And that's one example. Give me a list of examples of how Cedar Fair is known to change their mind at least minute and maybe I'll be inclined to believe you. What you've just posted was one thing....and we all have had at least one moment in our lives where we've changed our minds.

There are many other such examples...and though we all are assuming they will drop the Paramount's part of the park names, it's NOT a given until they actually do it. Many things can and do happen in business all the time, and not just at Cedar Fair, either. . .

But, I think it is pretty telling by what they have on their corporate website. There is no distinction between the former Paramount Parks and the former Cedar Fair parks.

Hmmmm. A prince of a name...

The length of KingsIsland Central is just to time consuming when having to enter the URL. The Paramount sub name which I have no doubt will be dropped, adds to the whole reason we need a name change. Then again how do we know Cedar Fair will keep it Kings Island, they could change it next year. I would keep it PKICental.com for the remainder of the year and after more information is found out then make the final URN name choice. If you do change it to KICentral you know what that means... NEW LOGO!!! Maybe you could do a Logo contest.

You could have the initials "KIC" and maybe say something like, "This website is KICking it all over town"

But that’s just me. Good luck with the name change.
