Tower Topics Buy or Sell Episode Questions Needed

Featured Replies

Taking a page from ESPN's Around the Horn show, we're looking to do an episode where we "Buy or Sell" a rapid-fire series of concepts or thoughts submitted by our listeners. If you're interested in participating, please submit your concept or thought in this thread. We're looking for things like, "Haunt indoor mazes will become an upcharge attraction."

AZ will receive a massive overhaul and be rethemed to Gotham City/DC.

WindSeeker will be removed in the next 5 years

Our next major coaster will be manufactured by Vekoma

In the next 5 years, Invertigo, The Bat, Congo Falls, and Drop Tower will be removed

The next attraction at KI will be located in The Vortex plot of land

In the next 7 years, KI will receive a new family coaster similar to Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood

I thought I saw a tweet (or whatever you call it on X now) that TT was ending.

I guess it must’ve been a typo because I don’t see anything anymore.

I'm going to be on the between or if lucky buy.

Kings Island will replace the white box home to The Crypt with a Vekoma Madhouse.

Kings Island might introduced a brand new storyline base around attractions old and new like the MCU.

Action Zone will retheme and split in half around Oktoberfest and Horror.

Phantom Theater could return with the help of Sally Dark Rides.

The next Peanuts attraction will be a brand new Surf Dog.

We will see the world most inverted coaster theme around to Vortex.

The TR:TR building gets demo'ed and the eye off the triangle of light door along with the two seats sitting in FOF's building gets sent to me. LOL. (I'd pay for it, I'm not kidding)

The Bat gets removed within 5 years, along with Congo Falls and Invertigo and sadly Drop Tower

And The Vortex plot gets a Gerstlauer Infinity that breaks the inversion record.

Kings Island won’t get a thrill coaster by 2030.

All the more reason to go to Cedar Point more often.

Good point. It's about 3 hours from KI, so not too bad of a drive if you live close to there. I'm so excited for Siren's Curse and Top Thrill 2 this next season, and shall be visiting sometime in the summer. Didn't get to ride TT2 when it opened because I was a week late :(.Yes, I know KI is closer and still deserves thrill rides, but Cedar Point isn't a terrible alternative.

Admission prices will increase by more than 20% over the next five years.

Haunt will become a separate ticketed event, similar to Knott's Scary Farm.

Small, themed escape rooms will be added as year-round, upcharge attractions.

Cedar Fair convinces PTC to approve running backwards trains on Racer (and Rebel Yell, American Eagle)

Blue cones offered as smoothies or some other form

A classic flat ride like Monster, SR&R is removed

The Beast is still the longest wooden coaster in the world

Kings Island could run one side on The Racer backwards if they wanted to, but they choose not to. PTC didn't, after 26 seasons, tell them they couldn't do that. It was a management decision to run one side backwards in 1981, and a management decision to turn it back around after the 2007 season.

@DonHelbig, do you know about when you might do this episode?

We now have a Buy or Sell segment as part of every episode. We'll also be adding back in the "Your Kings Island Stories" segment in February. Anyone interested in sharing their Kings Island story (favorite memory) can submit it via email to donhelbig@themeparksbydon.com. Use Story for TT in the subject line.

Thanks for the clarification on Racer, Don.
I thought it was a deal where PTC didn’t recommend backwards ops, and liability fears. Glad to get the facts.

I retract my statement, and modify it to: “Cedar Fair finally chooses to run Racer backwards”.   :^)

Ooh, on that note- River Racers isn't open for Soak City's opening day, with no warning from the park beforehand.
