Although we didn’t get a new coaster this year it is reassuring to see how much was invested in the park infrastructure during the offseason. It always makes the future of the park look a lot better when things are renovated and will be preserved for years to come.

We’re nearing mid-July, and let’s be honest—this has been really rough season at Kings Island and for the company. From staffing shakeups to cutbacks, to things like no ice, no cups, and restaurants c

Anyone else find the mess of old/new concrete in and around Planet/Camp Snoopy an eyesore? While I think replacing old concrete is a good thing, I wish the park spend a little more money last year and replaced all the concrete in Camp Snoopy with the brownish stamped concrete that they put around Soapbox Racers.

I don't typically view Planet Snoopy from this angle so personally it does not really effect me the only place you can see it from there is the tower unless your craning your head on Diamondback to look at Planet Snoopy. While it isn't pretty I think this vantage point makes it look worse and even then when I'm looking out from the Eiffel Tower I don't usually look at Planet Snoopy.

Could it be getting new trains next season?

Stop in for a refreshing treat or something sweet! We offer Oreo churro bites, cheese curds and delicious mocktails and frozen drinks.

Did Meteor Canteen have these items last year?

I vaguely remember them offering these...they weren't the main "dish." They had the afterburner fries or whatever.

That is a tough location to have food in. I feel like even though it’s near two rides it doesn’t offer anything of substance really. I would lose my mind working there it is probably so slow.

I've seen lines for it that were fairly long....and I've seen it dead...I guess it kind of depends on the crowd sizes and weather tbh.

They should add a drink station like in Rivertown right there in Area 72. There's virtually no shade in that area, and it can get really hot after waiting in line for Orion or waiting outside for party members to get off. You can get drinks there, but I feel a designated spot for drinks would be good for that area.

The only time I've ever had an issue with needing a drink in the area is when they've had the stand closed. When it's open, the line has never been long enough for me to not stop....plus the refreshment stand across from Zephyr isn't that far away.

There is a drink stand there! it's a bar cart  : )

Looks like the royal fountain got a fresh coat of paint, or I’m just not used to seeing it this clean! Video is posted on tik tok of them filling it up.

totally agree - It almost looks worse because its such a mis-match of patches and finishes That whole area fell way short of what it couldve been.

I saw that too! Haven't seen Mystic run yet...

Just saw Mystic running!!!

Also looks like Monster won't be ready anytime soon.  They seem to have put up a more permanant barrier:

Also on the Camp Snoopy cam looks like they repaved the lot in front of the maintenance buildings.

I saw some speculation on one of the KI Facebook groups that the walls indicate that Monster is done for, but I don't believe that much at all. There are still a ton of parts on the pad, the operator building and queue line is still standing, and the fence appears to be a standard metal fence covered with the vinyl wrap we've seen on the other quick construction projects. I think if Monster was being retired, we'd have seen everything removed by now with a more permanent wood fence like is over by The Vortex plot.

I saw Mystic running back in early March with all 3 trains.

I was worried about this as well, but it's a delayed opening. They've ordered some parts that are taking much longer than expected and some port issues from Italy haven't helped.

That sucks a lot, but it makes sense. At the end of the day we have escaped a lot of the merger negative results, but that is give and take. I would rather lose the monster than any other flat ride. Will be interesting to see what they do with that area. I could see another ride kind of like the monster, but able to load more people. Shame we did not get a proper send off, but it was broken so it is understandable.

Guess those parts aren't coming in at all, now.

In my mind this may have been something where they found out the only way to get the parts was to have them custom made and the cost was just too much.  Could be the reason the new park map hasn't been released yet.

Huh, interesting timing. It looks like that picture got removed from the FB group for some reason, but either way I'm sad to see Monster leave us. There is now a post on the KI Season Pass group though. I can believe the idea that this decision was just made since there hasn't seemed to have been any movement beyond a reply from Guest Services.

I don't think the official map will be released until later this week. That seems to be the standard with all of the parks that have opened so far this year. Kings Dominion still has their Xtreme Skyflyer (currently SBNO) on their map, so I wouldn't be surprised if Monster is still seen on Kings Island's first 2025 map either.
