April 17, 20242 yr In the same vein that I ask 'how does Intamin screw up a log flume?', how does S&S screw up a sit down looper with a chain lift?
April 17, 20242 yr Steel Curtain seems to be a money pit, no matter how much work they put into it, it just doesn't seem to fix it.
April 17, 20242 yr The one thing I've never really understood was what problems does this coaster actually have....like they keep saying it's a prototype, but beyond that, what about it is causing downtime?
April 17, 20242 yr This reminds me of Hypersonic XLC's tenure at KD when it comes to something familiar from S&S.

From what I've heard online, it seems the issues with Steel Curtain stem from the support structure not being adequate enough. I cannot confirm this though, as I am not a ride engineer.
April 18, 20242 yr I'm planning to make my first trip to Kennywood in July. I'm disappointed that I won't get to ride Steel Curtain even though I don't like the Steelers. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out exactly what the problem is and get everything operational by next year.

Just know, if you're going on your own, they need pairs of riders for Thunderbolt due to it having ancient trains with no seat dividers and it's a lateral G monster. IT does have a pseudo-single rider line at the station though.
