September 2, 20232 yr Ooooh. Yes please. As grateful as I am that it got new paint, I really hated the all-brown paint job.
September 2, 20232 yr Huh. I've never noticed that gate on the exit path fence before. Is that from when they had a Haunt maze running through there?

It started last week with small sections being painted, but now it's finally coming together! I worked at Drop Tower tonight so I couldn't see the new paint update, but these pics really look great. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow evening.

September 4, 20232 yr The park is currently experiencing a power outage. The line is very long because the metal detectors aren’t working. Edit: The metal detectors appear to have regained power. I haven’t seen any rides testing.
September 4, 20232 yr And keep in mind that this also means most rides have not been able to have their morning inspections and start-ups, so some rides could be hours before opening after power is restored depending on where it was in the start-up procedures.

They claim "something" came in contact with their power lines. Could be fully back up and running before the map updates, or parts of the park/waterpark could still be out. https://outagemap.duke-energy.com/#/current-outages/ohky
September 4, 20232 yr A squirrel LOL https://www.fox19.com/2023/09/04/kings-island-briefly-loses-power/?fbclid=IwAR2kS0Hx9yXz4_ReLW_Wwh7rAhuZaTyJSt3U2Dg0JMX1RXZkCOM8hhqEGio Although I do not think this was accurate...."Shortly before 10:30 a.m., a park spokesman told FOX19 NOW most rides were up and running again."
September 4, 20232 yr I ALMOST headed to the park this morning for a couple of hours before heading home, I am glad I decided to forego that thought now after seeing this. On the subject of yesterday, thank you to all of the ride crews for toughing out a hot and humid afternoon and putting in the extra effort to keep things moving quickly!
September 4, 20232 yr Okay, two possibilities here. One, this is a photo from before they finished painting this part of the ride in April. Two, that new paint isn't doing so well on the track, because the rails are down to bare steel through the pool and climb, and looks faded on the climb.

September 4, 20232 yr Sounds like the park could benefit from its own energy storage and solar panels.
September 22, 20232 yr Didn't want to start the 2023 Winterfest thread just for this, but prices for the Igloo's this year are (based on the night) $225, $285, or, wait for it...$325. On a positive not, hot chocolate refills are back down to $1 for additional nights.

October 8, 20232 yr Wanted to give a shout out to the Banshee crew they have been killing it this weekend! Rolling those trains like I’ve never seen before on an invert! Edited October 8, 20232 yr by Orion742 Fixed pronunciation

The Banshee crew has impressed me so many times. I don’t visit the park as a guest much these days, but a while back I remember them consistently having a full train ready almost as soon as the lift hill was clear. It was amazing.

Even thought the ride experience isn’t as good with the vests compared to the old B&M restraints would be I think the vests make it easier to check restraints than the old B&M restraints.
October 12, 20232 yr Any overall photos of the Diamondback paint lately? Having the train closed during Haunt season is a bummer for that.

I don’t know if they entire layout is finished because I’ve only ridden it lately at night but the first two airtime hills and turnaround are now 100% complete.

October 13, 20232 yr It looks like they got everything completed, but I guess better views will have to wait for the train to be running for WinterFest.
