October 25, 20223 yr As we get closer to the end of Haunt and into the holiday season, I wanted to start a thread for construction updates. On 10/23/22 I took several pics of the area to get a pre-Adventure Port snapshot of the area. You will find it in our galleries called: Adventure Port Pre-Construction. Bellow is that gallery. Please use this thread to post your construction pictures and updates as we finish up the 2022 season and look forward to Kings Island in 2023!
October 25, 20223 yr Hopefully the park puts a webcam up for this and gives us of updates on Social media. I'd like to see them do a YouTube construction series
October 25, 20223 yr Yes! I am so excited for Adventure Port. I was looking for signs of progress when I went Sunday, but I didn’t see anything new except for the billboard by Coney.
October 25, 20223 yr I'm willing to bet that Slingshot foundation removal is at least part of O'Rourke's contract. Those are some serious foundations as they had to hold everything secure with the spring box at full compression/tension plus the actual ride cycle.

Just swing the Banshee cam that is looking at Orion and swing it back to Banshee LOL (might need to angle down a little and maybe to the right, but it probably was close)
October 26, 20223 yr The perils of midway shots. It's worse when you're doing a photo tour in the waterpark, glad I don't have to do that anymore.

November 25, 20223 yr Is anyone at the park tonight able to confirm if any construction on Adventure Port has started? Any walls up? Might be best to start a new thread to cover it up through opening day.
November 26, 20223 yr Can confirm the dedication rock is still here, it has been transplanted next to the bar!
November 26, 20223 yr I wonder if that's permanent, or temporary for construction and will be integrated into the new entrance.
November 26, 20223 yr I would guess it will be in the general area. It’s practically akin to a holy site so I’d doubt the park is going to get rid of the rock.

November 27, 20223 yr I'm glad I have pictures of the old sign of Adventure Express. Just in case it doesn't return.

November 27, 20223 yr It will be very unfortunate if they don't bring back the iconic sign in some way. Like maybe they have a new one to match the rest of adventure Port but bring the old one back as a Easter egg in the AE que or put it inside the new restaurant or something. As for the dedication rock it needs to be included in the new area in some fashion as well.

I could see the old sign being incorporated into some kind of que easter egg, along with some other different types of teasers.
November 27, 20223 yr Knowing Kings Island they likely lowered the original sign down gently and it’s being repainted or something behind closed doors. They wouldn’t just toss that…
November 27, 20223 yr Might become a new addition to the museum walls of the sign shop, unless they put it in the station or in a tunnel or something.
November 28, 20223 yr With all their classic rides and old props they seems to still have they use for events would be cool to see them make a large “legacy store” gift shop like Universal Studios did. If they don’t reuse the entrance sign somewhere in the queue would be a great addition in a shop like that.

November 28, 20223 yr Vortex's signs were also auctioned. AE isn't a defunct ride though, so it'll probably stay somewhere, even if it just joins all the other old signs in the shop.
November 28, 20223 yr Does anyone happen to know where the sign shop is located at the park? I have always wondered.

If you look though the fence when you walk from Planet Snoopy over to the waterpark you can see it. Close to where the walk way over the train is. It's not accessable to GP.
November 28, 20223 yr Yeah, over there in the maintenance lot by the paint shop, carpentry and whatnot. The backstage tours that include it are fascinating, it's like a museum in there.
