I would love that bandwagon. And no, we don't ALL want a giga.

  • Coasterstock attendees will get a treat. After dinner, of course.

  • My hope is that whatever is planned for that area makes good use of the woods. KI has lost a lot of its tree cover over the years.

I'll reserve judgement for when I ride, but I'm more glad than ever that I visited that park in the previous management's final year.

Can we take this over to the "Other parks" section and keep this related to KI please?

All topics go off topic at some point. Just look at the "Starting to Decode 2014"! Do not fret, it almost always happens. :)

This year Legend.

Next year...

Raven gets torn down for a new gigacoaster?

All I got to say, even though I have never been to Holiday World I still hope the Raven is around when I get there.

Ain't that the truth. Seems like the future of Universal is to become Simulation Land.

Well, even if the interior of Kong is just screens, the exterior appears to be absolutely stunning and worth the visit alone.

I don't think Holiday World would tear down The Raven when they just rebuilt some of the ride.

I may be wrong, but didn't Carowinds spend multiple seasons refurbing Thunder Road shortly before tearing it down?

I'm not saying I think HW is doing anything with The Raven, but stranger things have happened.

Edit: Beaten.

I heard that Thunder Road had structure problems with its foundation. That is much harder to fix. Also the ride wasnt popular so it probably wasn't worth the cost of maintaining it. I haven't been to Holiday World but i would assume they would keep The Raven since they don't have many rides.

Foundation problems is a no, lack of proper maintenance. You shouldn't remove paint from a wooden structure, not repaint or waterseal the structure and expect it to last. Carowinds removed the paint from Thunder Road in the 90s and only started watersealing the structure with Thompson's Waterseal a few years before 2016....

I suspect when GCI recommended or told them to.

Carowinds spent 5 million to rebuild most of Thunder Road, the remaining structure need "a couple million" to rebuild as Carowinds officials put it.

I hear the entire lift hill needed a complete rebuild

That is correct. The lifthills and brakeruns structure needed a complete rebuild, that segment and towards the station was only sections left to rebuild. Carowinds did not say if station would have been been included but Carowinds did rebuild Woodstock Express' prelift turn recently(either this year or last).

Meanwhile, at Kings Island, who is....on the fence?

I think that's Sally, I hear she is trying to find a place to set a flower pot....

i wish they wouldn't have taken out Thunder Road i never got to ride it. But I heard it was amazing.

Thunder Road was very good, very smooth for a woodie

^I would look for CoasterOhio's profile image coming to a park near you!

"Everything's a cycle folks, even this is one!"

In all seriousness, the wall returns, and so does the decoding. I'm saying that it will be an attraction!
