July 26, 201412 yr Kennywood is well worth the drive. I would make the trip annually from here on out, if I could.
July 26, 201412 yr After the buy one, get one sale they had last fall, this has been a VERY busy year for Kennywood. Hopefully, the in park per caps made it worth it.
July 26, 201412 yr If you visit Kennywood, make sure to avoid the special deal days. (Passholder bring-a-friend-cheap, buy-one-get-one admission tickets, etc) It wasn't crowded at all when I went. I didn't ride the Flying Coaster or most of the other flat rides. I need to return at some point. Perhaps venturing further east to Knoebels as well. Those from Cincinnati might combine Kennywood with a trip to Cedar Point to save a considerable number of miles.

If that's the standard, figure out a way to detour through Jackson, New Jersey on the way home. Terp...trying to be good.

July 26, 201412 yr Something like putting Louisville, Chicago, Des Moines and Mason in a trip from DC to Moline, Illinois and back?
July 27, 201412 yr The rehab a ride can get during the off-season can vary greatly. During an off-season tour of Cedar Point a few years ago, the Wave Swinger ride was completely missing similar to SR&R. Bryan Edwards explained that some rides are completely dismantled some years and other years are left mostly in place. I like SR&R and hope that it makes a come back. I believe this ride came from Coney Island? If so that is more incentive to keep it.
July 27, 201412 yr I like SR&R and hope that it makes a come back. I believe this ride came from Coney Island? If so that is more incentive to keep it. I don't think that it did. It isn't on my 1972 Park Map, so if it did come from Coney, it was left in storage for a while and put up later.
July 27, 201412 yr I think that was his way of "deleting" a double post. No. It wasn't. Some posts have been deleted. Others that should have been got otherwise taken care of. Life is good.
July 27, 201412 yr I did some more searching and found the ride was added in 1975. So yeah, it did not come from Coney Island.
July 30, 201412 yr The sign is now gone also. The "temporarily closed" sign or the sign with the ride's name?
July 30, 201412 yr Is the "temporarily closed" sign removed too, or just the Shake, Rattle & Roll sign?
July 30, 201412 yr The LED sign out front still listed it as closed today. I didn't look when I went by the ride location though.
July 30, 201412 yr Maybe i didn't look hard enough, but i think Shake Rattle and Roll has been removed from the parks website.
July 30, 201412 yr Maybe i didn't look hard enough, but i think Shake Rattle and Roll has been removed from the parks website. That would depend on what the meaning of the word "removed" is. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Family-Rides/Shake-Rattle-Roll It is still there, just not linked to from anywhere.
July 30, 201412 yr ^But keep in mind, links being removed is certainly not a good omen, at least not for the foreseeable future. If it is to return, it will almost certainly be out quite a while. Just because the website is sitting on the server means nothing. Thunder Alley's page remained on the server long after the attraction was demolished.
