As much as I hate to say it, it would make sense if ours is not record-breaking. Cedar Fair is turning Carowinds into a resort destination (with the addition of the hotel) and in one of their recent conference calls (too lazy at the moment to track down the exact one) they stated their intention to continue to heavily promote Fury 325 and Steel Vengeance. Why would you, as a company, "steal the thunder" of the flagship ride of a park that Cedar Fair is trying to turn into a resort? That being said, I am hoping we at least get a longer ride than Fury. That is not looking likely though if those blueprints are real.

I would say this looks official. You can see the interiors of the buildings (Flight of Fear, Action Theater). I thought it was a fake at first, but this is way too detailed IMO. A little confused, though, over why they would use the small Firehawk queue for their signature coaster.

Because it was a hoax and they don't really have any plans/blueprints/whatever.

Nobody "sent" it. It was posted on here publicly before being deleted by the user.

I'm calling hoax on the layout "leak." Obviously, the Mason blueprints are real but I find it highly suspicious that a select few has this layout...but when people start asking they conveniently "delete" it.
  6. Tomb Raider: The Ride did not have as intense a cycle as 2008 The Crypt, but the gondola had an extra row which made it heavier. It had a very large maintenance cost, lots of downtime, and it was ultimately deemed to be a potential safety hazard by management and closed.
  7. Your username suggests otherwise...
  8. Mystic Timbers is also a great, recent example of fantastic theming.
  9. Then that's your own fault. There was no evidence for it being 2019. Zero. None.

    Hence “nearly.”

Diamondback, Banshee and Mystic Timbers are all world class rides. I would argue our Top 4 is unparalleled by nearly any other park in the United States.

The Racer revitalized the coaster industry and proved you could build a large wooden roller coaster in a modern theme park. The Beast was the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in the world in 1979 and still is the longest wooden coaster in the world. The Bat was the world's first suspended roller coaster. King Cobra was the first coaster built from the ground-up as a stand-up roller coaster. Vortex was the first the first roller coaster to do six inversions. Flight of Fear was the world's first LIM-launched coaster. Son of Beast was the world's tallest, fastest and only looping wooden coaster. Diamondback is still widely acclaimed and extremely popular. Banshee is the world's longest inverted coaster. Mystic Timbers was ranked as the Best New Ride of 2017 by the Golden Ticket Awards and is often regarded as one of GCI's very best. And that is just roller coasters! I would like a giga. However, claiming that Kings Island is not on the map is one of the most preposterous statements I have ever read on this site.

FWIW, there is a can of “Firehawk Fuel” in the Kings Mills Antique Autos gas station.

Met with him in February, he is retired. He started working at Cedar Point in the 1970’s.

Firehawk, helicopter tours, Lion Country Safari, then this. So four attractions.
  17. Scrambler got its current paint job for the 2016 season. It was yellow before.
  18. The post was written Friday, April 19. The Sunday before that was April 14, which was Dry Run Day for associates.

It was Kings Dominion’s. It’s long been rumored that ours was next to be relocated/rethemed but I’ve had that officially debunked by Craig Ross.

Ours was not, Kings Dominion’s supposedly was or was going to be rethemed.
  21. International Street is so much more open without the trees. Most importantly, for me at least, the original design intent of forced perspective has been restored. You can see into the future? Amazing!
  22. Because they were rusted out and their new versatility is incompatible with them. Because their falling leaves were causing issues with freezing the ice for the skating rink. That's why they were significantly trimmed last year and are gone this year. The tables have nice-colored umbrellas that don't ruin the design of the buildings. These have been there since 2017. They were added for Winterfest, although the trees did a good job of hiding them. I agree that they are horrifically ugly. There's many more nozzles of water than there was before.

More acceptable than what? More acceptable for whom?
  24. They did, though. Photos from January Video from March
  25. I miss the pedestals, but after seeing it working in person on Saturday I think that the increased number of jets, the taller height, and their new versatility more than compensate for the loss of the pedestals. They look very good now and I'm excited to see what they've done by Memorial Day weekend. The fountain by the real Eiffel Tower, which inspired the Royal Fountain, does not have pedestals but has the jets shooting straight from the water. I do have nitpicks over International Street--but the new Royal Fountain is not one of them.
