  1. Looks like a great production! I look forward to seeing it. Looks like Tinker has gone thru puberty. I'm glad they were able to reuse the Grand Carnivale thrones!
  2. It's been "famous" since 2017
  3. Just gotta ask a question here ... Cedar Fair operations, in general, at Kings Island, were typically top notch, until budget cuts reduced labor. ( Let's be honest, staffing issues didn't hold water after 2022, it was an excuse). I would pit CF KI ops again Taft ops any day. But, to be transparent, my lense is marred by the fact that I'm an adult now, and understand logistics better than when I was a child/teen and didn't. So they might have been better back then.
  4. ^That's more than retracking!
  5. Me in junior high writing a note to a girl I'm crushing on!
  6. Over Texas and Over Georgia both have some sort of partnership arrangements with investors. SFEC has taken their option to buy out the investors at Over Georgia, I don't know the timeframe, but it's a couple of hundred millions to a few hundreds of millions of dollars. Id expect them to call in the same options at Over Texas. But with the way the finances are, who would loan them the money to do so?
  7. Why would I vote for an event that no one has been to yet?

  9. They were mislead? I get that investors aren't necessarily park specialists, but anyone with any exposure to legacy Six Flags knows how they had deferred maintenance, underinvestment and slashed staffing to the bone leading up to the announcement of the merger. The more this shakes out, the more it smells. Meanwhile, the "architects" of the merger will collect their golden parachute. If the company survives, they can make their money after the stock rebounds after this great reset. If the company doesn't survive, as we know it, I hope these folks loose what equity they have built up in the stock. 10. You didn't hear about The Beast being open for WinterFest? For the three trains that could run once, it would the The Thrill of a Lifetime!
  11. Jukebox Diner has now been relegated to the "only eat there if I don't mind terrible food" category for me. We are there yesterday, and the burgers were left in open air, displayed sideways. So the top was dried out and the bottom was greasified. My friend was not impressed with it. I got the chicken tenders. They were huge, but hard to choke down. They were Sysco type institutional food and were literally mushy towards the middle. I gnawed off the edge of one. Fries were cold. More than 80% of our meals went in the trash. I mean, I have the meal plan, so it is what it is, but I learned my lesson and won't try the food there again. The employees did not engage other than "what do you want?" and eye rolls and the gen z stare. This was even worse than Six Flags Over Georgia dining, both with food and experience. Compare that to the people at the stand by The French Bar...quick, making jokes and smiles. As well as Grain and Grill who smiled and served great food. And no gen z stare haha.
  12. ^ I understand what you both are saying. But a dialog-heavy show like Tinkers needs to be in KIT so people can hear it. Festhaus has a terrible venue for this show. An off season park improvement should be the International Showplace. While a complete indoor venue would be impossible, a tiered seating arrangement with be ideal, along with firepits or heat lamps for a shorter show. You could even have two shows, 15 minutes each, at the top and bottom of the hour to take care of the cast better. KI really needs another climate controlled venue. If they ever get rid of The Junkyard Coaster, a complete revamp of this area with an pleasant looking venue, new restaurant, restrooms, etc would be ideal. I doubt that the current iteration of ownership would value this.
  13. ^ by desperately starting 2026 season pass sales in JULY and giving away the gate lol
  14. Abysmal News out of Charlotte this morning. Attendance down in October. Per caps down. Didn't even blame the weather this time.
  15. Yikes is right. PRKS has a bad quarter and reported today, and their stock is down something like 30%. When FUN reports similar tomorrow, I wonder how low the stock will plummet? I mean, we are almost to 2020 levels, and there is no pandemic. No replacement named for Zimmerman, that is bad news. Unless they announce tomorrow and have genius, hoping to offset the bad news.
  16. So very strange watching the death spiral of an amusement park via social media.
  17. I hear that ice skate times may be reduced from 90 minute time frame to 30 minute slots to sell more. How can they logistically do this? By having people enter every thirty minutes during a 90 minute period and then zamboni it? How would they get group one and two off the ice? This is probably the biggest selling upcharge for the event, and probably one of those most expensive line items. If they screw this up, which corporate seems to have a nack for doing, WF could be a flop. If it's a flop, will they continue it? Are they purposely trying to sabotage things and get WinterFest off the table?
  18. If Dollywood can flip from pumpkins to Christmas in one night, they can take 3 weeks to transform a fountain. But they have shareholders to answer to, so they are going to do what they need to do
  19. That is a real shame. I know the logistics of transformation into snowflake lake is monumental, but they need to figure out to keep it and the tower open thru Haunt. Surely it does not take that long to winterize the equipment and string the lights. On a positive note, at least it will have been open longer this year than usual.
  20. Which is worse, unauthorized photos, where she supposedly was told no photos, or AI slop? ( Cross threading)
  21. ^ What a twisted mess of steel! I love it!
  22. If this is what we end up with, I hope it's fully customized for KI. Two trains with 16 riders each....yikes. When you account for Fast Lane (the free one time use with the cheaper prestige pass) on this stat alone would kill capacity. I am loving the new Vekoma, but they need to have higher capacity models.
  23. Nah, they need to theme it 80s legends Thompson Twins. Have the lap bats ratchet down tight as the song " Hold Me Now" plays in the station.
  24. As far as REIT, SFET has exercised the option to purchase the rest of SFOG. I know that's not an REIT issue, but the concept is similar: control your own destiny with a park. REIT would destroy that. They were/are planning to "buy out" the partners in this park by 2027 for $332m. I don't know how much they already own, plus all of the physical aspects and infrastructure would be, but selling the land to a REIT would make absolutely no sense. I don't see a world in which the REIT could or would pay the value that is there. If they did, imagine the cost of the leaseback. I believe they want to do the same for Over Texas. However, when the sale of SFA is made known, it could give a hint on what value they could realize in markets with high land value. I'm far from a financial expert, but this makes no sense to me in a lease back scenario.
