Training sesh... from KIMerch Twitter page. https://twitter.com/kimerch
  2. SeaWorld is basically ridding themselves of what made them famous. The orcas are what people came for, and are what people fall in love with. Heck, even on the sign outside SeaWorld Orlando, there are orcas. This is a not only a business move, but a MAJOR rebrand for the park's image. And Manby seems to be working his butt off to get the company where it should be. Sometimes I wish people would cut them some slack.
  3. https://www.instagram.com/p/BD5b9-GuOOJ/ Ok this is actually making me really excited. It makes me think of all the attention they put into Carowinds with respect to its Carolina heritage. Maybe Rivertown is getting the same retheme treatment? Bringing back the theme of an Old Abandoned Ohio Town by the river?

Well at least they understand that guest satisfaction is No. 1 priority, and they comped your meals. I would be really concerned if they incorrectly told you the policies and didn't give you compensation for those meals. oh, and hopefully this year the lines will move faster....
  5. It's a different company though, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thank God that KD still has security checks....I worry immensely about front gate security at Kings Island ever since the 2012 removal of the metal detectors
  7. "...an incredible showcase of strength, balance and athleticism." Sure, reuse the marketing phrase from a similar, yet different show that was previously at the park.
  8. http://instagram.com/wdwbestdayever Who coined this first? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think I just lol'ed.
  10. That stand has been an anomaly. Only very rarely do I see it open on a regular basis. In the past 5 years, I've seen it open 0 times. Other people may have been more lucky, but not me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I too was unaware Rivertown Potato Works had mini corn dogs on the dining plan. I had always gotten the chicken nuggets. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/2015%20KI%20Dining%20Plan%20Details%20v4.pdf
  12. I believe this is being discussed 'round elsewhere. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/31860-Kings-Island-2016-New-Game-Cards
  13. I had some ride associate friends last year who had on-site ride training on Easter last year (2015). I'm sure most construction contractors that Kings Island uses give their employees Easter off, but it seems that the three weekends before the park opens are when they hold a lot of associate training events.
  14. Yesterday was a big associate training day, and I mainly saw a lot of people in stripes walking around on the webcams....probably training for that new cashless game system!!
  15. Kings Island confirmed that they are indeed going cashless for ALL games. https://mobile.twitter.com/kigamesdept/status/713083466460610560 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ya, and they made it sound very much like Disney's PhotoPass service. There will be "roaming" photographers and photographers at certain attraction locations that will be available to scan your FunPix card and add photos to it. Similarly to how you'd add pictures to your MagicBand down in Disney World.
  17. I wonder if Kayman's is going to be dropped in favor of this new FunPix system? Or is Kayman's backboning the project? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. This is true. I have a couple of friends who work in Games and they say it's always really frightening when they have to count their money, because if they're just a couple cents over or under for whatever reason, they could be fired. This eliminates that stress on the game employees.
  19. "The future is here. Make sure to get your game cards! #KIgames" from: https://twitter.com/kigamesdept/status/712702542682202112 Kings Island released on their Games Department Twitter page that they are initiating a new Gaming Card system. I'm aware that this is already being discussed on another thread, but I reckoned that this merited its own topic so that the KIC Community can discuss the system (pros & cons) as we begin to use it in the 2016 season and beyond. Firstly, do you think that this new system will be implemented at ALL the midway-style games as well as this basketball one we see in the picture? I think it's a great idea for Kings Island to completely eliminate cash in their games, but these machines better be accessible all around the park, otherwise they could risk people just walking away and not playing the games due to them maybe not being able to find one of these game card machines.
  20. "it means no worries...." jk jk you should probably worry there's a fire
  21. How long has X-Base bathrooms been an issue? Since 2007 when X-Base opened?? or 1996?
  22. All this talk about Action Theater history compelled me to do a ravenous online search. I think this is one of my favorite KI commercials. But to think that Spongebob was thwarted for the Dinosaurs Alive! film that lasted for so little time just makes me a bit upset. But alas, I know it had to leave eventually.
  23. One Okra? One of my lesser-enjoyed fruits, although it's bearable when fried.
  24. I imagine it'll be much like Pets Ahoy! at SeaWorld Orlando. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
