  1. I'm disappointed Skeleton Crew is apparently going to be in the Showplace Theater (beside Diamondback) rather than Kings Island Theater (where Cirque was). Since I can't get to my computer at the moment, may I make another complaint about website design and implementation? I can't get to the Haunt page by directly navigating to it, and it isn't in the site map when I leave that crappy mobile site for the full site. Although, through the site map I can get to two Haunt related pages where I'm presumably not supposed to be, one of them explicitly not for the uninvited. Ok, I have discovered a workaround, if I click full site, and then paste the Haunt URL, it actually goes. Until it feels like taking me back to mobile again a couple clicks later, but at least it is something. And this must be ok to share again since it is linked off the Haunt page now https://www.visitkingsisland.com/assets/uploads/2014FrightGuide.pdf
  2. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/haunt I'll have to take the tweet's word for the page being live, since I'm on my phone and having trouble navigating to it.
  3. Since I'm pretty sure my question got wiped in the leak clean-up, (and though the leak prompted it, it isn't actually something new to 2014, this is just my first Haunt) I will ask again.... There is apparently no re-entry during Haunt. Obviously this would mean you can't get your hand stamped and return. But, do they also keep track of the season passes used to enter and prevent you from using it more than once in a day? Is Sunday included? Is it only certain hours on Friday and Saturday?
  4. No need to worry lack of information would prevent news stories: Cedar Points Mantis to close for good http://wdtn.com/2014/09/02/cedar-points-mantis-to-close-for-good/
  5. I'm there! Thanks so much for this opportunity, I can't wait!
  6. I actually didn't notice him freaking out at all about it when I walked around the corner there before stopping to take a pic, so I think it might just be the way he happened to move in the moment I snapped the pic.
  7. There seems to be a fall party for gardening tools going on in Planet Snoopy. A shovel and a broom are playing cornhole against each other, among other things I also saw this person, who seemed to be having a perfectly normal conversation with the woman sitting there
  8. Gate hangers. These are people who are waiting outside the exit gate for someone to get off a ride but are unable to recognize that other people are also riding and need to exit. So, they hang on the outside of the gate, and then seem surprised (and annoyed) that it needs to swing outward to open for the people walking toward it to leave. On Adventure Express, they even have a yellow line marked in the exit lane to show how far back you should wait so that the gate can still swing open but I often have to practically shove the gate into people to be able to leave. They'll take one step back and expect everyone to squeeze through the little foot-wide gap the gate can swing open. I realized just how annoying gate hangers are when I encountered an anti-hanger at The Beast today. I was in the back row, so I was the first to the gate, and before I could even reach my hand out to unlatch it, a woman waiting outside quickly unlatched it and stood far enough back it could open fully. I thanked her sincerely.
  9. The only times I've seen it down all season have been weather related.
  10. I remembered today, as I was eating it, I'm not really that fond of LaRosa's pizza. The blue ice cream has been lovely as always, though. I actually prefer the smaller towers of soft serve today, especially after the avalanche of Banshee Twist I experienced on my first lick last time I got one (on a 90-degree+ day). Learn from my mistake: when it's really hot ask for a dish rather than a cone. I won three little superhero monkeys at the Plate Break game ($1/ball today) If I continued winning at the same rate I could win that giant Wonder Woman banana I've had my eye on all summer, for less than $20. In the continuing war of the giant stuffed animals, my husband has suggested I don't try for the banana. All in all, I've been enjoying my first Dollar Days. It's really not that busy so far. I've spent about as much money so far as on my highest spending days of the summer but feel like I've gotten much better value. They finally had fudge push ups too, they've been gone my last three visits. Yummy!
  11. Yeah, the rain has really let up. Unfortunately I'm still drenched from my first ride of the day, on Delirium. Not as much fun in the rain.
  12. First page of this thread has something: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29505-cirque-imagine-at-kings-island/
  13. Well I'm here. I realized sometime during my trip down (in pounding rain) that I'm not going to the Monkey House to laugh at the monkeys, I am a macaque. Seriously should have waited until tomorrow when there was a chance of not raining all day. On the plus side, crowds are very low
  14. It shouldn't turn into an extended walk in 85 degree heat Sunday. They aren't calling for it to get much above 80 (and not hit even that until late in the day), but it has a high chance of storming all day. You might want to check the weather before fully committing to Sunday over Monday. I know there is some sort of Skee Ball in the main Coney Mall arcade (the one closer to the front of the park that isn't being made into a Haunt maze), I believe regular and some sort of Bingo version. The arcade by The Beast also has something, I can't remember if there is regular or not, but there is something that has a curved bowling lane that I've been meaning to try. Neither of the other arcades have as many lanes as the one currently closed, but on the other hand, I've only seen them in use once or twice all summer (and I've been there a lot) so you are unlikely to have to fight too much over them.
  15. http://trevorbodogh.com/2014/08/18/cirque-imagine-236-shows-wraps-up-at-kings-island I have two favorite parts about that page. That he liked my post about him enough to include it, and where he says "And see you again next year Cincinnati !" I am looking forward to it!
  16. I was sitting in the front seat of Flight of Fear, and had extra time to chat because we were waiting for Drop Tower's drop. (I know Gator understood what I actually meant and was just giving me a hard time about my lack of clarity) They phone between the two rides so they aren't trying to pull electricity to launch FoF at the same time they are pulling electricity to stop Drop Tower. I don't know if this is something they've always done or if it is in reaction to the fried electrical box that killed power to the whole park at one point this season.
  17. I'm not surprised. It is the only day in the three day weekend (with $20 BAF and Dollar Days) that they aren't calling for a significant chance of storming. I'm still trying to decide between tomorrow and Monday for my own trip. I am curious to see how much of a madhouse today becomes, so please keep us updated!
  18. It's dry work hanging out at an inoperative ride My fingers are crossed for the ride opening soon for those of you at the park today. I'm sure they are doing everything possible to make it happen, safely.
  19. Oh yeah, duh. My plans for this weekend changed and I forgot why I hadn't been considering Friday (I thought I just didn't like the late open). I think I'm just going to go on Monday like I was originally planning then.
  20. I know that when the park opens at 10, the food places generally don't open until 11. Is this true with later park opening? For example, this Friday, when they open at noon, would I have to wait till 1 for my $1 LaRosa's pizza? Is there ERT at 11:30?
  21. Or run ads on FUNTV. Which they have been doing for about a month now.
  22. Yes, Flight of Fear opens with the park, and if you hit it right away you will have only a very minimal wait.
  23. Yesterday, I again ended up in the front seat with a talkative person, while waiting for Drop Tower's drop. And he mentioned the same thing to me, about King Cobra's trains being stored in the building. Thanks to asking you guys, I was able to tell him they had been moved. He was a pretty charming kid, excited about coasters. Still a little young for the boards, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him here in a few years.
  24. It reminds me of the show they used to have at KI when I was a kid. Which makes sense, because the news this season suggests KK seems to be stuck in that time period in a lot of ways. It worries me that KK has a live animal show at all.
