Working at Kings Island
There's inexpensive areas in Middletown, but I wouldn't feel safe living in them personally.

Winterfest Wishes and Ideas- A Way to Bring It Back
Even though my first kiss was on the ride home from a Winterfest (in 1992, I think), I don't really have fond memories or a wish for it to return. I remember it as it was described unthread: KI without the coasters. Granted, we still had Phantom Theater, which was nice, but mostly it was just cold and not very entertaining. A mostly-outdoor festival in Ohio in winter just isn't something that appeals to me. Even though I was born and grew up here, I'm just not built for the cold. There would have to be something quite fantastic to draw me to the park in winter, and I don't think it would be cost effective for the park to provide whatever that special thing would be.

Entertainment Line-Up for 2015
Even though this jibes with everything I had heard so far, I'm super excited to hear it officially! Can't wait to see next year. If the lead from Skeleton Crew returns with all our favorite performers from Cirque, all the better

Ladies and Gentlemen, Girls and Boys:
That rocks, freaks76! Glad to see the winner here. You didn't realize it at the time, but from what others have posted, you were surrounded by KIC posters when you were waiting and on that ride. Congrats!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Girls and Boys:
When I was on the 50-millionth Beast train, one young man a couple rows behind me broke into a spontaneous NSFW rap about being the 50-millionth train while we were sitting in the brake run. I definitely haven't been on a more enthusiastic train ever I'm happy to see KIC was so well represented on the 2-millionth Banshee train. One of these days, one of us is going to have to win one of these, law of averages, right?! If it's me, I want to set up some sort of board contest/sweepstakes for who gets to go on the VIP tour with me.

Current wait times
Ok, well I'm jealous. I wonder why they said there wouldn't be any? Edited: went to check the post where I thought I read it and there is no mention of shows at all. Either I imagined it or they changed it. Crap. I might have gone today if I knew there was Skeleton Crew.

Current wait times
I saw somewhere, I think the KI facebook page, that there are no shows (any of the shows) today.

11/1 report
Glad to hear they eventually opened Diamondback and Banshee. I was there about 10:45, and was only able to tough out the cold until about 3:00. Maybe Banshee will hit her 2 millionth before the season ends.

WHAT IS NEW FOR 2015!
SR&R will have a new LED light package when it returns in '15. Forgive me if it was mentioned but I didn't see anyone say it.

Guests DO the darnest things
I feel stranger wearing a park shirt at the park it is from than a shirt from a different park. It is a bit like wearing a t-shirt for the band whose concert you're seeing. The Flight of Fear crew really enjoy when I wear my old Outer Limits tank, though...

Is BonBon-Land a good place for familys?
As a country girl, my first response is "that's not where a cow's teats are!"

Interactive Park Maps Are Now At Kings Island
Ugh. And the fingerprints on that remind me why I wash my hands so often at KI.

Best moments at Haunt
I don't know if it was my favorite moment, but my strongest startle happened last Friday night. I was walking toward the Coney Arcade while texting my husband about having been on the 50-millionth Beast train. So it was a bit like shooting fish in a barrel for the scareactor to walk up to me and scream in my face. But, I did nearly drop my phone in fright. Obviously, my favorite moment of this fall was that 50-millionth ride, but that only coincided with Haunt rather than being part of Haunt. Didn't even notice the smoke machines running.

The one I saw was right next to the entrance of Coney Mall

Kings Island 2014 Discussion Thread
The healing power of Kings Island... I've been going through the consistently worst two weeks of my life the past couple weeks (I can only think of one worse full week, when I was going through some deep emotional trauma that I still haven't really gotten over 5 years later, and had the flu at the same time). We're entirely not through the woods, and some things are going to get worse before they get better, but at least things are finally stabilizing to the point I could consider a trip to KI. I didn't really realize how much I needed it until I walked into the park. Simply having an hour of complete mesmerization (the two half-hour Skeleton Crew shows I saw*) to take my mind off my troubles was worth its weight in gold. Getting to ride The Beast as she gave her 50-millionth ride was surreal. All in all, I feel much better after my night at the park. *speaking of Skeleton Crew, wow, Philip has really improved on the ring the couple weeks I've been away. He was doing some incredible stuff earlier in the season, but he's stepped it up even more!

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
I was on the train! That was so cool! I know it's shocking that I never have before but I celebrated with my first hands up ride on any coaster! I already was excited just to see Don in the station, but to be on the 50-millionth ride train! We may not have all won the prize but we were all the 50 millionth riders

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
I'm still in line. Probably ride around 9:00. Wish me luck

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
All the cow corrals are open and full. Guy at the entrance told me they hadn't hit it yet but will soon.

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
Half hour to 45 min

The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
Overheard the worker at the line entrance say they're about 4000 away. Good luck anyone else here trying. I'll be taking Skeleton Crew breaks so hopefully I don't miss it.

Funnel Cake - Pumpkin pie Spice
I agree with upstop. The one I got earlier this season follows your initial description. It was yummy.

Best Seats?
If you read the other thread, I think I mentioned it there too: definitely try different seats for yourself. I got in a rut of front seat or back car as my preferred places on all coasters. Then earlier this summer I happened to try the middle of Diamondback. I love the heavenly floating sensation at the tops of hills when I ride in row 8 or 10, and I think that may be my favorite seating in the whole park. I never would have discovered it if I didn't experiment.

Phantom Theater Haunt
I think since Missouri Jane was a real person and is buried in the cemetery at the end of the parking lot, they are unlikely to capitalize off of that more than they already do. Passing mention, fine, but fictionalizing her into a storyline could be considered disrespectful. Fort Coney, being as far as I know a fictional fort itself, I think they might do something with.

Kings Island Inn & Conference Center closing soon?
Does it usually stay open after KI's season? It seems to me it would have very little business in the off-season.

Fantasy Farm - Middletown, Ohio
I remember Fantasy Farm more in name than actuality. The years I actually remember (from the time I was 5 years old, so starting in 1981 or so) my older sister and cousins were too old to enjoy it as much as KI or Americana (so my family went to those parks instead), so I don't really remember going.
