  1. Deep-fried Twinkies would be available at every food stand. EDIT: Apollo owns the new Hostess. I don't know if anyone got that.
  2. A major reason I thought that it was worth bringing up was that Cedar Fair management is much different now than it was when the Geauga situation went down. In all likelihood, someone in the new management has at least thought about it. I'm well aware that it's close to a pipe dream for it to ever be reopened somewhere, but I think it would be fantastic if it were to happen.
  3. Devarious, what Pyro said makes good sense. He is saying that he is not sure if there is a Big Dipper-shaped space available at Cedar Point. Cedar Point has space like you said, but they just have to be creative with it when adding new attractions.
  4. Geauga Lake's Big Dipper classic wooden roller coaster still stands on a vacant lot. I know that it would make little financial sense, but I'd like to see Cedar Fair purchase the ride and give it a new life at CP, KI or Michigan's Adventure. It would be a very Knoebel-like move, but I'm sure it could be done. It bothers me to hear of one of the world's oldest roller coasters rotting away. I think it works fit in best at CP given its rich history, that is if they can find enough room for it. If KI were to get it I it world be fascinating to have a roller coaster that is over twice as old a the park. I know it probably will never happen, but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.
  5. Not me! Not that I ever think KI is going to be complacent under CF, but I think competition is a good thing for all involved.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk ...And the same goes for Kentucky Kingdom, for me at least. I don't know about some of you. Competition makes parks better, period. Look at Camden Park. No competition within 3 hrs plus. I like the park a lot and all, but their most recent coaster installation was our old Screamin' Demon. There's little reason to add new things. The now gone LeSourdsville Lake decided to ignore new competition in KI. Even the Beach Waterpark, which sold for a paltry $3 million, has made Kings Island better. We have dive-in movies since The Beach re-opened and CF is probably less tempted to make KI's Soak City a separate gate.
  6. Someone enlighten me. In a coaster seat number as in 8-3, what is 3? Is it the third seat from left to right or the way you enter as in the 3rd seat (past seats one and two)?

One thing that's fallen off since CF took over in the beginning is the special event at the park. Do you guys remember Nik Wallenda, Robbie Knievel, Pete Rose, the skydivers, the Skyline chili spaghetti eating contests? I'd like to see more of that kind of stuff again.

If I were to bet, I would say something like CP did this year. If that doesn't happen I could also see a long overdue new waterslide.

    Fixed it for you.
  10. ^^ 100 mil not 10. Move your decimal.
  11. Shields to cover the nipple area, typically worn by female strippers to avoid obscenity charges in certain areas. They are typically pasted in place, and star shaped. Terp, when you joined this forum did you ever foresee a time when THIS topic would come up?

I understand what you're saying, but I wouldn't say that banning smoking could be considered dehumanizing. I'm not sure if you are implying that or not. The park has the right to ban any smoking if it wants to, but I think it would be bad for business. Other than the occasional puff of smoke in my face, the smoking doesn't effect me much. I think the current policy of smokers' areas is best, at least for now. I will say that some bans are just plain stupid. Miami University recently expanded its no smoking policy to include dip and chew, (I'm also a non-user). I've tried to wrap my head around this change. All I can think of was they changed it because non-users made the rules or there was the belief that students dipping hurt the campus image.

^ Quoting Interpreter This may be the case for that particular park. Would you agree that results would vary in doing that in other parks? KI is a bigger park in a different area of the country. It's especially important to note that the Commonwealth of Kentucky has a higher percentage of smokers than any other state, (Ohio is also near the top). I hate smoking as much as the next guy, but I'd imagine more than a few smokers would not come to the park if they had to head to the gate each time they needed a fix.
  14. Busch Gardens Faisalabad
  15. 1. Montu (one of my all-time favs but not the best in BGF. That's Kumba, my all-time favorite steel). 2. Afterburn * I've also ridden Banshee, Raptor, Alpengeist, Great Bear and Dragon Challenge. These are somewhat underwhelming in comparison to my top two as far as I remember. Banshee lacks laterals and the "snapiness" that Montu and Afterburn have in droves.

I thought you guys might like to see some of the crazy flats in this thread link below. Also on a side note, flats definitely don't have to be big to be a fun or thrilling ride. http://coaster-net.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11668-awesome-flat-rides/

King Cobra is certainly a fantastic name. I doubt it would be used for a NEW coaster. A new ride deserves it's own buzz. I think Sasquatch or Bigfoot would be an awesome name. It would also be cool to see an old-school name like Jack Rabbit, Aeroplane, Shooting Star, Comet, Big Dipper or Wildcat.

The Topple Tower was also a "giant rides" prototype. It was the last of old Huss's long line of failures. There are dozens and dozens of Breakdances out there dating back to 1985. Of course there's more to a business relationship than the products alone.
  19. KI Guy replied to Delirium2018's topic in Rumors
Fair enough, but TR:TR and Delirium were the first of their kind, prototypes. They were part of HUSS's then focus on "giant" rides. The Breakdance is one of the most established flat rides there is, (largely in Europe). Shake Rattle and Roll is a HUSS. They are capable of making a reliable, quality rides just maybe not giant ones. Yes, I know SR&R is down right now, but that is definitely not the norm.

How about a Huss Breakdance? The one at Freestyle Music Park, (technically a Rodeo), was a blast. It turns out that there are many other companies that make a near identical ride to the Breakdance. These might be better options.

^^ Perhaps a large part of the apprehension for the larger parks has been due to capacity concerns. At medium-sized parks there have been several installations. With GCI recently dabbling in a 3 train operation in Wodan Timburcoaster, this may not be an issue anymore.

^If they have a good time what difference does it make?
  23. KI Guy replied to Delirium2018's topic in Rumors
Build a quality wooden coaster and they will come. One ride on said new coaster would dispel any confusion with ole SOB. Positive word of mouth is the greatest friend of the marketeer. If it is good people will know about it.
  24. I like Screamscape. It's not perfect by any means. Most of the news can be found on other sites earlier and yes there's some revisionist history but I appreciate it as a one stop place to catch the headlines and rumor topics. I know a lot of work has to go in it and I appreciate the effort that goes into it.
