  1. Well, I was going to say bring more rides and theming, but Bavarian treats definitely works!
  2. I think it depends on the context. Some jokes have different audiences and it sounds to me like the KI examples are jokes for enthusiasts, not ignorance. However, the tour guide example would bother me since film is my number one hobbit/life goal/are of expertise. I wouldn't expect the tour to be dry and over-serious like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (ooooh yea!), but a studio tour is definitely supposed to be an educational experience
  3. For me, it depends on how hot the day is. Sometimes, I actually like to be soaking wet. However, my ride of choice for this is White Water Canyon. I have nostalgic feelings towards Congo Falls, since it was one of the first rides I remember riding as a kid, back when it was named Amazon Falls and lions and trams ruled that area. However, if Congo Falls would go the way of the Lost City of Zinj, I'm not sure if I would miss it like I miss Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal, Antique Cars, Phantom Theater, or even the lions and the trams.
  4. I understand the goals of marketing, trying to drive less-than-casuals to be straight up enthusiasts. I just don't think that makes marketing infallible and above criticism.
  5. I understand where you are coming from. There are threads where I put my opinion out there and there is always someone who comes in with an "Oh stop complaining! KI is perfect!" attitude. It's not worth leaving over nor taking personally.
  6. Please don't take this the wrong way, but it seems like you get mad way too easily. It's important to have standards but it's just as important to know when to chill.
  7. Congratulations! It's nice that the park is honoring its past on the website.
  8. Also, while the pay might be lacking, this is the best time of your life to make money. No bills, no debt, no kids, nothing like that.
  9. Each coaster needs a "Now Serving" sign, like McDonalds used to have!
  10. I do think they overindulged the mystery of the shed in the marketing. Advertising is a double edged sword. The goal is to sell people a product and put its name out there. And if you oversell something, it tends to rub people negatively as they often feel mislead. Expectations are weird like that. However, I did like the idea of giving a ride some sort of mysterious edge. I like the idea of what was in the shed, but if KI goes this route again, I hope they go all out.
  11. I'm not sure I wanna buy them to eat or display!
  12. Well, at least it's not a Grease problem. "Summer loving'! Happened so fast!" Sorry, there's still a little Paramount in the park for me. x_x
  13. I see Mystic Timbers as sort of like a Woodstock Express for "bigger kids." Granted, I wouldn't take that too literally though.
  14. I don't remember seeing them last year. They sound awesome.
  15. ^That's why people are making a deal. Not because they feel like royalty for owning a Gold Pass. It's also not very smart since KI has a presence on this forum.
  16. ERT isn't for people with Bring A Friend passes. It's for people with Gold Passes and Platinum Passes. That's it. Having a friend with a Gold Pass doesn't make that person royalty.
  17. I think fog and mist look great on any rollercoaster. A lot of the disappointment with the shed comes with all the expectations that were built up by the ad campaign. I think people were expecting something physical, like a drop or a scary looking tree with glowing red eyes. In retrospect, it actually makes sense to do what they did because it allows for updating the experience without re-designing that part of the ride.
  18. It's an easy to system to abuse, however that doesn't mean it is okay to abuse it.
  19. If I only had a time machine! I never had a chance to ride either of these rides as they had been gone either by the time I was born or the by the time I was able to ride the "big kid" rides.
  20. Not at all. I was pumped to hear George Gershwin playing right near the Eiffel Tower. An amusement park, for me, is all about escapism. Hearing the same crappy songs you hear at Walmart isn't escapism. Now I'm just worried how long the international music will stay. Forever, I hope!
  21. I'd love for Phantom Theater to make a comeback.
  22. It was pouring rain when I rode Mystic Timbers and I thought that added to the experience!
  23. If you guys get there super early, where you are waiting in line to park, and book it the entire time, you might be able to get a fast ride on Mystic Timbers. This past Saturday, we were able to get on MT within 5 minutes.
  24. I will be honest. I love rollercoasters, but I know nothing about the companies who build them.
  25. I was worried about the same thing on Saturday. The website had said processing hours began at 10am. However, they were opened right as we were allowed to park.
