Carowinds wouldn't have gotten Fury under Kinzel's Cedar Fair either. Ouimet is truly the best thing that has happened to the company.

I wonder if any of the Winterfest Events will show up. Has Knott's Merry Farm ever placed in the Top 5?

Rob looked a bit sad when he accepted the award for Fury 325. Lightning Rod just missed the cutoff for the Top Ten Wooden Coasters. That's still impressive considering the delays. I wonder how it would've placed had more people ridden it.

Did they already announce the best new ride and best wood/steel coasters?

I really hope this has nothing to do with the Harambe situation. I'm all for offensive humor, but if someone actually called in a bomb-threat because of the Harambe situation, joke or not, they've gone way too far. I draw the line when people's lives are endangered.

Again? That's less than twenty minutes from my house...Very unfortunate event to happen at Carowinds, barely a year after that giant parking lot fight. And to think that we live in the most peaceful time in human history...

As sad as this is... can we raise $100 million on Kickstarter or GoFundMe? Enthusiasts don't have that kind of money. I'd be surprised if the campaign got to $100.

Some food for thought- It seems that these new entrances accompany larger additions at parks and areas that are expected to have increased traffic flow. Carowinds got their new gate and toll booth with the addition of Fury 325, Kings Island added a larger toll booth this season (the season before Mystic Timbers), and Cedar Point added a new Marina Entrance with the addition of Valravn. Could we see the rumored Premier launched coaster come to Worlds of Fun in 2018? I'm not saying this year's flats aren't substantial additions, but I can't imagine they'll push people through the gate like the addition of a coaster would.

SeaWorld San Antonio is building an Intamin next year. It's a jet ski coaster but it's still exciting to see them return to the U.S. market.

So, is Cedar Fair not building an interactive/digital experience next year? I thought either Kings Dominion or Wonderland would get one for sure, but they've already announced their 2017 additions. Unless the "There's Really More Coming" at the end of KD's announcement is actually hinting towards a second announcement (I don't think it is), I don't see one coming next year. Soaring Timbers looks great. I would have named it "Flying Timbers," but the name they chose isn't..... terrible...

Maybe not the most appropriate comment for this forum, but we're having a field day with this over on Reddit. I'm not gonna sit here and preach about how people need to "lighten up," because honestly, these memes are genuinely offensive. But just because people make jokes about Harambe doesn't mean they don't understand the gravity of this situation. Harassing the zoo on Twitter is probably going a step too far, but one little comment parroting the same Harambe joke isn't going to send society down the drain.

I feel like "There's Really More Coming!" is referring to this expansion and not a surprise addition.

At first, I thought the park was trolling enthusiasts by overhyping a small addition, to teach enthusiasts a lesson about being grateful. Then I remembered that the world doesn't work that way.

I guess I'm in the minority that really enjoy Mild Eagle. It's not very intense, but unlike Gatesleeper, it actually had some good speed. And I rode it 50 degree weather! Now if I could ride it in the middle of July.....

I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but does anyone think Mystic Timbers will have lift hill music like Banshee and The Beast?

https://www.facebook.com/grandtxrv/ The RV Resort has opened this weekend. Big Rivers Waterpark, Gator Bayou Adventure Park, SpeedSportz Racing Park, and The Sportsplex are slated to open in 2017. I really hope this project comes to fruition. It reminds of my home park, Carowinds, in its early years- a charming park that celebrates the culture of the state(s) it's located in.

^Most likely the latter scenario. After all, This is Florida.
