Was going to call/email the park a few questions but since I'm basically in the same situation as the OP I will ask here..... If I purchase my 2014 gold pass at the gate on 9/28/13 will I be able to use that visit as my one admission for '13? Also by purchasing at the gate will I have to pay the "service fees" or any type of taxes? I noticed they state "no passouts" and wondered if that includes all day or just when Haunt starts? Thanks.

Never bought a season pass before due to the ~2 hr one-way drive but I'm really contemplating a gold pass for next year for me and the wife. I figure if we make at least 3 trips (one this year) we will be saving money and the 3 trips is highly likely given the opening of Banshee. I know for a fact I will be hitting up Cedar Point once next year due to a car show I'm attending in northern Ohio but the numbers just don't seem to add up to justify a platinum pass. I realize if we made another trip to a Cedar Fair park the savings would be evident but darn....I hate to spend more money to justify saving money. Decisions....decisions.

Pretty simple really, or at least for me. My wife doesn't drink so I take care of the initial drive sober and she does the driving home. This system has worked well for us over the past 20+ years on all of our excursions (ballgames, parks, etc.). Disclaimer : This post does not imply that I drink in the Kings Island parking lot

Personally.....I have never gone to that beautiful part of the country to ride intense thrill rides. IMO it's all about the the Great Smoky Mountains so anything else that I can do to enjoy time with the family is a plus.

Flight Deck is not worthy of The Bat name (< not a knock on the ride, it's one of my favs). Re-name it if they want but call it anything but The Bat.......in my book that name should be reserved for a new coaster in the future.
