Ideas for the Crypt building?
Would it be possible to relocate the entrance to BLSC to near the floral clock and theme it to alpine toboggan racing? Would definitely fit International Street well.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
Or The Lost World at Kings Dominion.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
They could make it look like a mine shaft. Cincinnati was a mining town at one time, maybe revive that theme in Rivertown.

Kings Island as a Resort
The area behind Banshee and The Bat, formerly occupied by Son of Beast, is open enough that a campground could go there. Of course, they might need the land for potential expansion.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
I'd love to see some rides get some classic amusment park style signs and some stands to get retro names, like The Lunch Basket or The Brass Ring.

What could 2018 bring KI
I like how you designed it to look like The Racer entrance and queue house right over the sign.

Article on Gravity Group
Gravity Group retracked and rebuilt the first drop on Kings Dominion's Rebel Yell last off season. Blondy, just pointing things out.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
They could move Xtreme Slyflyer to Rivertown and rename it to fit the theme of the area, like Cedar Point did with RipCord, renaming it Professor Delbert's Frontier Fling. Plus, it could open up some space in Action Zone for expansion.

Ideas for the Crypt building?
I know that it would be near impossible to bring back the original Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal, I just found that picture just to give an idea of a replacement. If at all possible, they could build a flume ride that goes through tunnels inside the building, build a rock structure on the outside using rebar and gunnite (spray concrete), similar to how they built Wonder Mountain at Canada's Wonderland. The closest ride similar to the Arrow Hydro Flumes are the Super Flumes built by Hopkins Rides. Super Flume video on Hopkins' YouTube page: https://youtu.be/t_59ERvzi4I

Ideas for the Crypt building?
I think this would be a cool idea for the Crypt building. (I saw this photo on here at one time, but had to do a bit of searching to find it)

Kings Island Music
It does, but it' not that version though.

Ideas For Better Thrills!?
Is there a ride manufacturer that still makes log flume type rides that Cedar Fair still might work with? A water ride from Hopkins may be a cool replacement. I've always said that they should just flatten the Box o' Fun and put Kenton's Cove back in, but it would be cool to build the ride into the building and make it look like an abandoned mine.

What ride did KI make the biggest mistake in getting ride of
Sometimes I sit and wonder what it would have been like if Son of Beast were built with really durable materials and didn't feature the loop. Had they not pushed the envelope as far, and only went for the wooden hyper coaster record, and did it properly, it probably would still be around today. It would have been a crazy RMC hybrid, too. But the biggest mistake ever made when removing a ride was removing the Flying Eagles and sending them to Carowinds, as they were an original flat ride from Coney Island.

Oktoberfest Area Facelift?
A Mondial Top Scan would look great in Oktoberfest, or maybe a Gerstlauer Skyroller. But regarding food, it would be interesting to see the Mac & Cheese bar stay in that area, maybe move it intp the Festhaus and move Panda Express to International Street. However, I don't think the park would bring back the food they had a few seasons ago if it wasn't selling well.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
Thanks for the No Limits recreation. That actually looks pretty nice.

Which 2018 coaster are you most excited for?
I've never been to Kings Dominion, and I might not have time to go down this season, but Twisted Timbers is exciting because it would be the first "new" coaster at Kings Dominion since Intimidator 305 in 2010. Since RMC hybrids are crowd pleasers, this may lead to a spike in attendance and possibly more coaster investments for them.

Oktoberfest Area Facelift?
When it comes to overhauling Oktoberfest to be more German again, food is definitely the way to go. The main problem is how well it would sell to guests. The brats, metts, sauerkraut and German potato salad didn't sell well when the park introduced Christian Moerlein Biergarten, which led to the nachos replacing it. That's something to consider when the discussion is about redoing Oktoberfest.

Things that KI can improve on
I think I noticed that the paint on The Racer's first drop looked fresher this season. Maybe I never looked close enough before to tell, but it looked pretty nice and bright.

The Giga Speculation Thread
I like the sound of "the biggest, baddest giga." After Kings Island got Banshee in 2014, it wouldn't surprise me that if and when the park gets a giga, it will be massive. Regarding Son of Beast's station, it would be best to level it. It's cool to see a track section from Son of Beast still standing after 5 years since it was torn down, but it looks a little ugly.

Dufunctland: Son of Beast
I wondered for a while had Son of Beast run with lighter trains if it wouldn't have run into as many problems as it did, but of course the structure wasn't on par and unstable. That's a lot of stuff I never knew about Son of Beast.

Oktoberfest Area Facelift?
No it's fine. There may be some German routes deep in the background of Skyline, but the man who founded it was from Greece. The Alpine building on International Street where Skyline currently is used to sell Skyline when it was called the Alpine Deli in the early 90's according to the park's 1992 brochure, so there is a slight Bavarian connection on I-Street at least.

Oktoberfest Area Facelift?
I thought Skyline Chili and other Cincinnati style chili restaurants were Greek. But I agree about Panda Express. If they were to move it to International Street, they could revive the "international" theming a bit. They had another Chinese restaurant in the same space called Mandarin Cuisine.

What will replace Dinos Alive?
Would be interesting to see a Camp Snoopy at Kings Island on tyhe other side of the park. One of the things my dad said about Cedar Point is that there are small children' areas scattered around near the other rides so kids could ride things while their parents and older relatives could ride things like Magnum, GateKeeper, Wicked Twister etc. Putting a kids area on the other side of Kings Island behind The Racer would balance it out and give kids the chance to explore while their older relatives ride Vortex, Flight of Fear, Racer, Firehawk and other rides. Since it's in Coney Mall, maybe they can keep true to the Cincinnati Coney Island theme and call it The Land of Oz.

Will Coney Mall be Overhauled?
It could also use some track work in some areas of the course, but not a major overhaul like from RMC. But definitely fresh new paint. Patriotic colors like in '72 would be amazing.

Complete History of a Kings Island Ghost
Thanks for the blog post! Nice background history behind the cemetery. It's also nice to see that you incorporated the 1970 construction photo. I've seen that photo before but have not been able to find it in years. I have a question that might have been answered in another post, but wasn't the cemetery used in Arrow-HUSS promo for The Bat in 1981? It's around the beginning of the video before the ride is shown.
