  1. I can see Drop Tower from where I work and I just got off. I'll do a drive by and report what I see (or not, and leave you guys in suspense).
  2. It seems like most people aren't that honest with themselves.
  3. A floorless was mentioned some time ago but everybody was arguing giga vs invert at the time. It's not like it matters. We will all find out eventually. Then before you know it we will be anticipating the next large addition to the park and this will be old news.
  4. We use photo eye/limit switches where I work and sometimes they get gummed up or fail completely. I always mention that fact to whoever I'm riding with. I love reactions. What I don't mention is that our equipment is exponentially harder on them than roller coasters and that when they fail it triggers a response in the machines that something is wrong and they will not work. I assume rides would do something similar and default the block system to no go and shut the ride down.
  5. This isn't as tragic as the Six Flags incident but it is still sad and alarming.
  6. Wow it's a terrible day for the industry.
  7. Android powered phone here, Galaxy S3 If we're getting technical. It's not top of the class anymore but it's also not awful.
  8. A lot of people don't put hygiene high on their list of priorities. Who knows why, aside from them.
  9. That's part of the experience of rides.
  10. It wasn't me I swear.
  11. I'm not a huge fan of Drop Tower but I'll ride it with my wife. I've survived every time. So far.
  12. I walk miles a day at my current job. Unfortunately it's indoor in a shop environment. No real complaints though. As far as KI goes, I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to be a ride operator in Planet Snoopy. Parents are very critical of strangers when it comes to their kids and after a while my patience would run thin. If I could sweep the park and pay my bills I would do with little hesitation.

7-16 Having passes my wife and I decided to take the kids to the park around 8:00 PM. I've been waiting all year for my boy to hit a growth spurt and make it to 48" so I can get him on bigger rides. At home he was right at 48, so we decided to have the park measure him and gave him wear the proper wrist band. According to their height chart he is 47. Grrr. Plans changed. Soooooo, we went to Planet Snoopy for a while and entertained the children. Around 9:15 I told my wife I was disappearing for a little while and made my way to The Beast in anticipation of my first night ride in over a decade. While in line I struck up a conversation with a nice woman who was in line with her son for his first ever Beast experience. Well played stranger, well played. I don't usually open up so easily to complete strangers but this had an impact on me in a way as I remember Beast night rides fondly from when I was much younger. It was almost like seeing a reflection of myself in a stranger I'll never meet again. Anyway, as I got to the station I realized that I would not make the front row before the fireworks and had to grab a row with the shortest wait so that I could enjoy the end of the night with my kids. It turned out that the people I had just met were directly in front of me and at the end of the ride the youngster told me I was right about the night ride being incredible and it was his favorite ride of the day. Afterwards I met my wife at the arcade near the exit where my children were having some fun and we made it to the path behind the Eiffel Tower near BLSC before the fireworks started. My one year old loved them and it was her first experience considering the week of the 4th was so wet she didn't get to see any then. PS - The Beast crew rocked tonight. The guy on the mic was incredible and amped the atmosphere up to a level I can't remember. It's like night rides are their Super Bowl and they were saving their best for then.
  16. Five and a half year bump... Are you a necromancer?
  17. I had a dream the other night that I saw a piece of lift hill track on a truck on the I71 off ramp en route to Kings Island. I can't say that it was BM for sure but it was large and built like a box, BM style. The color was a nasty brown almost like the color of dried blood.
  18. I've never been. It looks like they have a nice collection of classic rides that are well kept. I've seen similar rides at festivals or small parks that look rickety and unsafe.

I was in Lebanon Ohio at 2:30.
  20. I enjoyed the meal I ate there with my family in early June. Our waitress had a very large group next to our table that kept her extremely busy but service was still acceptable. The food was enjoyable and not overly expensive, and it came out as ordered in a timely manner. It was a Sunday and they did not have the game on for about the first half inning but that's a very minor complaint. I would eat there again for sure.
  21. I think the best part of this post is that I would be 100% okay with a parking lot renovation for next season. To help the traffic, after the fireworks To reduce the likelihood of potholes eating cars. Nomnomnomnom
  22. AE is a people eating monster.
  23. Good report. IMO Adventure Express grows on you after your first ride. I know that's how I felt the first time too.
  24. The farthest and most exotic for me was Busch Gardens Tampa. It really wasn't weird at all though.
